Yeah, this one snuck up on me. Next year I am not doing this sort of travel schedule again. But this should publish probably when I only have another 84 shooters left to run, then the awards dinner and then waiting for-freaking-ever for my turn to walk the prize table (I expect to finish in the 500-somethingth at this match). Hopefully they’ll be something good left. Zion was gorgeous last year, but I find I have no real desire to go back.
Today and tomorrow are good days for love, both in finding/rekindling it or if you got married last week like the stars advised, introducing that one thing you’ve wanted to try but were afraid to ask for during your honeymoon. However, that particular arrangement breaks up abruptly so because of time zones, you should probably raise the idea today/tonight to be safe.
And that’s it. Big war news coming but not this week. Stay tuned!
Virgo: The Hermit – Prudence, circumspection, treason, dissimulation, roguery, corruption.
Libra: 10 of Coins reversed – Chance, fatality, loss, robbery, games of hazard, gift, dowry, pension.
Scorpio: 5 of Coins – Material trouble, destitution, love and lovers, resolving contradictions
Sagittarius: The Blank card again. This week, it means
Capricorn: Knight of Cups – Arrival, approach, advances, proposition, demeanor, invitation, incitement.
Aquarius: 8 of Coins reversed – Voided ambition, vanity, cupidity, exaction, usury, skilled opposition.
Pisces: 6 of Cups reversed – The future, renewal, that which will come to pass presently. I really hate this freaking card. I believe A. E. Waite had no idea what to do with it so went hyper-vague.
Aries: Strength – Power, energy, action, courage, magnanimity, complete success, honors.
Taurus: The Chariot reversed – Riot, quarrel, dispute, litigation, defeat, difficulty with travels or vehicles.
Gemini: King of Wands – Dark man, friendly, countryman, generally married, honest and conscientious. The card always signifies honesty.
Cancer: 10 of Cups reversed – Repose of the false heart, indignation, violence.
Leo: 2 of Cups – Love, passion, friendship, affinity, union, concord, sympathy, vows made, promises kept

No Willie?
Sagittarius: The Blank card again. This week, it means
Choose the form of my destructor?
Was thinking of what other ideas they had pitched. Bert Parks: In Aykroyd’s original treatment (Ghost Smashers), Gozer was envisioned as taking the guise of a mild-mannered, smiling older gentleman in a business suit, styled after classic Miss America host Bert Parks.A Giant Aphid: Another early concept for Gozer’s final catastrophic form was a swirling psychic storm topped by a monstrous, disembodied aphid head.
Stay Puft as a Mid-Movie Monster: Interestingly, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man was actually in Aykroyd’s very first treatment, but not as the final Destructor. Originally, he appeared around page 20 as just one of dozens of paranormal threats terrorizing the city before Harold Ramis and director Ivan Reitman suggested saving him for the grand finale.
My 2nd Grade teacher, Mrs. Kinney, would be a good choice. Just switch her name to my delightful 1st grade one, Mrs. Slaughter.
Taurus: The Chariot reversed – Riot, quarrel, dispute, litigation, defeat, difficulty with travels or vehicles.

Those first five sound like when I threw a fit at my boss when finishing an under-the-table contract, no euphemism, especially now, as boss’ mom fell over on purpose in the office, feigning that Evan Teacher pushed her down or something. Cops were involved. That kinda sucked, but other than a fine I don’t recall, was really just a big fucking nuisance in the Korean legal system.
I also don’t recall any difficulties with travel or vehicles, no sireebobb. It is fun that two of my, IMO, biggest adventures both intimately involved train travel, in Kazakhstan and Sri Lanka. (Not that intimate, that’d be more fun, but intimate.)
Huh. In reality, I passed my drug test for work so I’m awaiting word on that. I kinda highly doubt they’d tell me tomorrow and I start on Monday, but I’ve witnessed stranger things. Huh! I should come with a big flare, horn or similar attached to me, igniting or blaring whenever I say that to inform bystanders of my report’s urgent sincerity.
Similar to Tres, he’s got my patented addition. His signals when he says ‘That’s a big girl, right there’ or similar. Same deal-i-o. Ya know he’s serious. *curt, sincere nod*
Capricorn: Knight of Cups – Arrival, approach, advances, proposition, demeanor, invitation, incitement
Yeah baby!
I’m getting laid this week.
Probably repeatedly.
Yeah but it doesnt disclose what his name is.
It’s Carrot Top isn’t it?
STEVE SMITH ON HIS WAY!
“Leo: 2 of Cups – Love, passion, friendship, affinity, union, concord, sympathy, vows made, promises kept”
My wife and I. Other than my being habitually late.
Clean energy
The burned remains of the Moss Landing Power Plant battery energy storage facility caught fire again Friday morning, prompting Monterey County officials to issue a shelter in place order — less than two years after it became one of the largest battery storage facility fires in history.
Workers for Vistra, the plant’s Texas-based operator, noticed a flare-up early Friday morning against the wall of a building that burned in the initial January 2025 fire. The cause: roughly 1,200 inaccessible battery modules, still charged, spontaneously ignited, said Chief Jess Cortez with the North County Fire Protection District.
“They’re in the smoldering stage right now,” Cortez said at a briefing Friday afternoon, adding that at that point there was no active fire. “The incident is very dynamic. There could be possible flare-ups.”
So much better than natgas.
Bask in our glorious electrified future.
I doubt it’s still there, but there used to be an excellent Mexican place right across the road from the power plant. The Haute Enchilada. They specialized in seafood. That plant is also located next to Elkhorn Slough, which is a protected brackish water estuary. Retards.
“If we had only known the worst-case scenarios of how not to build batteries, we wouldn’t have built Moss Landing,” said Dustin Mulvaney, a professor at San Jose State University in the school of planning, policy and environmental studies. “Because it keeps coming back to haunt us.”
How will you know if it works if you don’t build it?
OMG. They totally knew. Liar.
“ Cancer: 10 of Cups reversed – Repose of the false heart, indignation, violence.”
It’s nice to be included this week…
“ Repose of the false heart “
I don’t even know what that means. Time to break out some restraints, I suppose.
I see my cardiologist Thursday. This had better not relate to that!
Especially given how spot-on the prediction was for the day of the surgery+complications. 🙄
Good luck!
Thanks Sean!
The false heart is taking a nap?
Zionist!
What is that, Utah?
Down by Bryce.
I preferred Bryce by a nose but both are just gorgeous.
Army buddy that lives in Indy and his wife are visiting both in a couple weeks. He said he’s excited to see the stars.
Lobes the west coast but has family and work obligations back east.

OK, then.
From the ded thred on CBP keeping out foreign hookers – she said something about girls going ‘face out’. From my understanding, the problem is she’s doing it wrong, it’s ‘face down, ass up’.
Face forward,
Eyes up.
If I’m ordering a hooker online, uh, you’re damn right I want a pic of their face, AND a body shot. That’s kinda the point. Were I God-King, and this were all legal, using false pics of yourself when you’re selling yourself would be Fraud.
Not to purchase, but I did go window-shopping in Amsterdam to see the hubbub. Not bad, not great, but I’m sure the really nice ones aren’t advertising themselves in the storefront.
(Natch, those lovely ladies found me charming and made *me* breakfast in the morning.)
Treason.
Always on my mind, right after murder.
I thought the Pet Shop Boys were always on your mind.
Not Willie Nelson?
Definitely Willie.
My folks listened to country in the car in the 80s and early 90s.
I’d ask where you all are, but I know where many of you are. I wonder if Emily is taking all 37 of you in a row, all at once, or what. Comb is willing, but I just don’t know if that town’s big enough for the lot of ya.
Not many folk at the Cubs @ Cincinnati game, but apparently their Oktoberfest is going on. And the Browns game. Not entirely strange, but it’s the last Reds series at home this year.
As a sidepiece pickup, Michael Conforto, a non-roster invitee, scraps, but with experience, has been a supremely useful bench piece. Just hit his 15th HR, and I think 7-8 of those have been pinch-hit and Big Moment ones. Fun to root for a guy with not much in the tank but making it last. Oooh, that remark resembles many here. I’ll let y’all sort that out. (You know who you are.)
I believe the term is menage a trois?
“She’s… into it!”
Thank you.
In Berlin, 43% of the under-25s voted for the literal commies.
And, according to the exit polls, 49% of those 25-34.
People old enough to remember the SED voted against them.
I’m not exactly certain how the three levels of education are demarcated in the German system for the point of the opinion polls, but in Berlin the AfD carried the two lowest levels of educational attainment while the commies carried the highest by a large margin. For the Greens, it was even more stark: 5% of the lowest-educated, 7% of those in the middle, and 19% of the most “educated”.
(Or as British blogger David Thompson likes to call it, “severely educated”.)
Sadly, communism sounds great on paper, especially if you have never been exposed to freemarket capitalism in school. And add in the belief that you will be the one running things, much like our “betters” over here, and it is no wonder those who have gone to the gymnasium want some form of socialism.
I call it “overeducated” but yeah, the same phenomenon as here in the US. Funny how that works.
Not at all surprising. Berlin has always been pretty hard left. Like a NYC or LA.
In the other election, they’re polling around 7% overall but 22% of the under-25s.
Interestingly, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern the over 70s voted SPD more than AfD.
And in really humorous news, the latest projection from ARD has the CDU at 4.9% in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. They may wind up not reaching the 5% hurdle to get into the legislature.
So just like the 1930s.
Because by objecting to the presence of millions of third-world economic migrants who refuse to assimilate and who commit crimes at many times the rate of natives you might as well be throwing them into ovens.
Stay classy, Reuters.

Yep. Endless repetition. Effectively tedious.
Last one’s a good band NAME, but best be awfully talented to not embarrass yourself. Should be Hunter’s next project.
Well, Kraftwerk did Endless, Endless …
Which repeated the word ‘endless’ for the duration of the piece.
Yeah, but apparently Kraftwerk was really good. (I’ve never knowingly heard their work, but IIRC folk I like give them praise.)
Best of luck on doc visit! Unpleasant one, those ‘Serious Doc’ trips. *casts powerful destress spell* ‘Whiskus chuggus!’
(More honorary than to be taken literally, but if so, I’d hold off til after the Doc. (Invite ’em to join!))
Thanks Evan! Sadly no alcohol (or cannabis) until I get the surgeon’s green light. When can I start drinking/toking are high up on my list of questions!
I’d say Kraftwerk was intermittently really good. If you’re interested, check out Kraftwerk – Minimum-Maximum LIVE 2005. The intro and first piece are pretty excellent. The rest varies, as Kraftwerk did.
Dude.
They, as in Reuters and suchlike, honestly believe that the only reason you could hate the presence of foreigners is due to racism, and not in any way to the enshitification of your society.
I mean, they got Donner kababs! What else could you ask for?
They know it’s bullshit but they can’t help themselves because the goal is to elect leftists and lying about your enemies is one way to get there.
It still kills me that Fred Merz is in charge of Germany. 😀
Big step up from apartment building manager.
Cops ‘how can we get people to hate us even more?’

“The anti-immigration, Kremlin-friendly Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) party extended a streak of strong showings by coming in first in the former communist region with nearly 38%, more than doubling its previous score.
In the capital, Berlin, one of Germany’s 16 federal states, the far-left Die Linke looked on course to win with about 25% of the vote, ahead of the incumbent CDU by a five-point margin. The AfD made headway there too, with a clear double-digit result.”
Huh! First I’ve seen “far-left” be used. It’d be so predictably ironic for Berlin to again be split 50/50 between a communist party and one that’s, well, not-so communist and actually cares about keeping Germany German. Which is Totes McGotes Hitlerian.
Where “Kremlin-friendly” means “not looking to go to war with them but maybe instead stop the insane green horseshit which led to us refusing to buy energy from them”.
