The weather turned out to be gorgeous but not as nice as the company. Ron73440, Kinnath, CPRM, USC, PO Nick and of course Fourscore were all there.
Kinnath once again brought a BIG box of his mead to share. The phrase “pearls before swine” comes to mind every time Kinnath tries to educate us on the finer points of brewing and mead. He tries so hard to educate us and all we do is slurp it down and look around for more.
Ron brought some cherry hooch as well. CPRM brought some hot sauce that made Mrs. Holiness’ eyes water (which is a big accomplishment).
The honey crop was big and beautiful this year. It was so bountiful that Fourscore kept getting pulled out of our conversations and being put back to work scraping the honey out of the combs. I try to teach him how to avoid that sort of stuff but he never listens…
Ron’s stoicism might be tested this week. Mrs. Ron and Mrs. Holiness spent a lot of time chatting and whispering to each other. I think that notes were compared and plots hatched.
For a while it looked like Nick might not make it. This caused a brief power struggle as we tried to figure out who would be the new Grand Old Man of the Honey Harvest. Before things got too tense Nick roared up on his motorcycle and retained the title. The cycle was really nice, but not so nice that his offer to take one of the Honey Harvest Honeys for a ride wasn’t rejected.
