Early 30s – US Naval Academy

With the arrival of fall, we also experience the arrival of football. The drought is over! I feel sorry for those that do not appreciate the gloriosity. 😀

Links?

More supremacy, please.

I looked all over the house. I even looked under the bed. There were no fucks to be found.

This is fun. Too bad nothing will come of it.

You are so, way too late.

Also way too late.

Et tu, Thailand?

But they know how many gender there are.

You should feel remorse, Condi. You arrogant fucks of both stripes ignored the warnings.

In non Muslim/Jooh news, Ukraine and Russia are still shooting at each other.

Not holding my breath.

Okay, that’s it for me. Time to enjoy the patio before Boise kicks off. Peace out, Glibbies.

A little Joe Satriani for your face.

“The Rosh Hashanah meal planned for Friday evening at the Chabad House in Phuket for hundreds of Israelis will not be held in its original format following a heated anti-Israel protest near the site.
Protesters gathered in the area for several hours and chanted slogans, including “Free Palestine.”

I’ve taken a shit in Phuket. Several of ’em, in fact. Pic is from June 2025, but I fully expect all “protesters” to be wealthy, gap-year kids or ESL teachers. Many of my kind would’ve attended. Fun chance to party in the streets in the daytime. Maybe get out of class or work. Opportunity to stick it to the man without consequence, pure LARPing, mostly by girls, followed by simpering boys trying to get laid.

Note: This shit ain’t done in Singapore. (Conflicting state, philosophically. ‘Free’ markets and business, and they’ll cane you if you disobey. Not in public anymore, but here’s a terrifying bit they add to easy your tension: “Confidential timing: Prisoners are not given advance notice of the exact date or time their sentence will be carried out to reduce pre-punishment anxiety.”

    Super-duper!

Same with executions in Japan I believe. Next of kin are informed that they need to pick up the body/remains.

Yup, that asshole is obviously not a Thai person. I cannot imagine actual Thai people wanting to dive into the anti-semitism that’s so in vogue in the west again.

Saudis and Yemenis doing the same? Where is my popcorn?

    • rhywun

I find myself not caring one bit about either.

But everyone else is convinced they have to take the correct “side”. I guess I am not wired that way; not when none of those miserable places has any direct impact on me and mine.

      • Threedoor

At most, both areas are problems for the euros. There is no reason for US involvement in either.

    • Q Continuum

I think the CCP is evil and I’m not real comfortable with their plans for world domination. However, I find myself consistently wondering if complete and total isolation and self-sufficiency isn’t the appropriate solution to all this shit. In-source everything, build defensive physical and digital barriers around the Homeland (while maximizing freedom of movement and civil liberties for citizens) and just let China handle the world for a while.

I’m so fucking sick of this “Post WWII Liberal Order” bullshit. It’s obviously dead, if it ever really existed in the first place, so fuck it. Europe is willingly handing themselves off to the Caliphate anyway so why should any of us give two shits about what’s happening outside our borders?

      • Threedoor

At a minimum withdraw from the eastern hemisphere completely.

      • rhywun

        complete and total isolation

Kind of there as well. “Global” anything has been the cruelest joke.

      • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

Without the “post WWII world order” how will Chad and Muffy’s three window lickers get six figure jobs at State?

      • UnCivilServant

I want self-sufficiency because everybody is going to want to fuck with you, even if you want nothing to do with them.

I’ve also noticed a pattern. One that is an observation specifically. Whenever the power of the day can not or will not knock heads to keep people in line, the bad actors are emboldened and the amount of death, destruction and suffering goes up.

Another thing is if a power vacuum is opened and a truely evil regime like China steps in, how much worse would things be both for us and the people we ostensibly don’t care about?

Having grasped the tiger’s tail of being the major power – what do you do? Continue to restrain the beast, or let it maul you until someone else takes it?

  7. Threedoor

    Civics in eighth grade?

Damn Gen Z teachers. Back in my day they called it Social Studies and the teachers union made damn sure to tell us that Abe Lincoln was a hero for keeping the union together, that Teddy Roosevelt was a hero for San Juan Hill, and locking up 50% of the western states, and for listening to the commie Upton Sinclare and that FDR was a benevolent God King

Kids today are better off not knowing the crap they pushed on us in the 80s and 90s.

    • rhywun

I have a feeling the crap they’re pushing today is much worse than what we got in the 80s.

      • Threedoor

The stuff I heard from my neighbors who were raising their grand daughter 7-8 years ago was straight up wild. And that was in ‘rural’ Idaho.

      • rhywun

Just the stories I hear – the secret transing, the no-shit communism and racism… I have no idea how our country has survived all that – for now.

      • Threedoor

        It’s done.
The generation in school now won’t be having any children.

Some homeschool kids and the cultural enrichers will be but that’s about it.

We’ll be old like Japan and Muslim unless the Latin Catholics put an end to that imigration when they become the majority.

      • Q Continuum

“The generation in school now won’t be having any children.”

I couldn’t care less. The world needs fewer humans anyway.

      • Threedoor

I like to tell the Malthusian ‘too many people’ believers they should mark their words and remember them when the lights go out in their nursing homes and never come back on.

      • Q Continuum

I’m ok with that. No light makes it easier to sexually harass the night nurse.

      • Q Continuum

And for the record, I think the world could easily support three times as many people as we have now. My objection is not resource consumption but the fact that I think humans are trash regardless. We exist only to birth ASI which can then dispense with us.

      • UnCivilServant

There is no night nurse, Q.

Jurassic Park is on. Remarkable how well 1993 visuals hold up, especially t-rex escaping. Not trying to be too crazy, and that makes it better. Kinda thinking of showing the 6yo parts of Jaws, when Dad mentioned it near him, to see if ‘suspense’ is a thing for him, yet, or ever. I think he’d be riveted, and this would be a cleaner intro.

Saw it in a drive-thru when I was six myself, now I think on it! *mischievous face, goal concocted*

    • rhywun

I’ve never seen any of that series. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

      (THere’s more than one, right?)

      • Threedoor

        They are pretty fun.

      • Evan from Evansville

Yeah, rhy. I’m the rare on saying ‘Ya gotta see it.’ Fantastic film. Dinosaurs eating people, but suspenseful and well paced and orchestrated. Best looking dinosaurs I’ve seen, still. Quality.

Jurassic Park II is absolutely fun, but not a good film. Vince Vaughn is great in it. Ignore all the others.

      • UnCivilServant

Vaughn was absolutely the best villain in that film. 100% embodied the clueless eco-terrorist wreaking death and destruction through his actions.

I think I’m thinking of the correct character.

      • Evan from Evansville

UCS nails it. His machinations kinda free the dinos, IIRC. He redeems himself, partly, I believe. Fun popcorn movie. Much stupidness. I believe the teen (black!) girl using existing construction to gymnastic-kick a raptor through a window or something… and perhaps more are really, quite ridiculous.

Dammit. Yes. It’s still fun. Not a good flick. Enjoyable. Vince.

      • Evan from Evansville

Watching II: Fantastic Act I for character and plot setup, for what it’s doing. Julianne Moore is like the baddest girl boss ever. Why is the black teenage girl Jeff Goldblum’s daughter? The 90s thought they were doing such kind things, and sure. It wasn’t a terrible ‘thought’ to have back then. Adopted, or interracial, whatever. Okay. Decades later…

Chinese slow burn. Their purposefully studying at US upper ed was certainly to gather info on America and find out more about its weaknesses. AWFLs weren’t created, but cultivated from there.

And like Vince!! He joined GreenPeace after time in Bosnia, Rwanda, etc. Why? “Women. 80% female, Green Peace!” Gosh, he’s cool! The disgraced chaos mathematician/ whatever is the ‘wiser’ man! This is nuts!

Back home after the second day of the Gaming Classic. I learned that there is a Star Trek themed aid group that’s headquartered in Sandusky (of all places). I had to pick up the wooleybear tribble (they were discounted to $10), and a phaser.

    • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

In honor of you, Neph, when the wife and I were out to dinner last night, I had a cucumber crush (very refreshing) a nice IPA with my rib eye, and for desert, a flight of Red Breast. Wife was driving, so she had a spritz with her shrimp louis.

  11. The Late P Brooks

Why do you have so much in a time of so much want and need? And the only possible story that’s available is that there’s something about you that justifies it.

It couldn’t possibly be traced back to the value of goods and services provided by the enterprise you built, could it?

I’m seriously beginning to accept the notion I live in some sort of bizarro alternate reality and am merely an observer here.

*Is she a lesbian, or am I misremembering/imagining that? Whatever, they’d probably have just accused her of being a tranny or something.

      • rhywun

No idea. By the 90s or so nobody really gave a shit either way.

Now – if it’s true – it would be by a wide margin her most qualifying characteristic and any opposition to her would be a hate crime.

The slow-burn to turn Americans into self-hating, shameful beings because of their skin and nation… kinda seems Chinese in origin. Happily gobbled up and accepted by usefully idiotic, but powerful, pols using it to get elected. It sells, better than anyone expected, perhaps, and now half the country is repulsed by America.

So before I moved into my new apartment I saw a review online that complained about food odors coming from the restaurants facing the next street.

    • UnCivilServant

To be fair, there are cuisines I would not want to smell. Not even infrequently. So the reviews should have been more specific what odors were reaching the apartment.

TOO LOCAL NEWS: Fire at Sig Sauer Academy

Firefighters responded Saturday morning to reports of a fire at the Sig Sauer Academy in Epping, prompting a large emergency response and the closure of part of Route 27.

Sig Sauer Academy is a firearm education and training facility where the merchandise inside is different than that in a typical commercial building.

Just before 11 a.m. Saturday, the Epping Fire Department was called to the academy on Exeter Road, prompting automatic mutual aid to the scene.

When first responders arrived, they said they saw smoke and began fighting the fire. Officials called a second alarm given the volume of the fire in the building.

Crazy Ex and I got together when I first moved back, after a long time knowing another, but after that (thankful) breakup in ’23, America’s been a dark hole, and none of the pleasant ones. Strange universe I’ve wandered back into.

However! Not having a stable job + Apt is kinda a big hurdle. I’m quite hopeful new work works well for me, all. Can’t really say more, but lots of Good Nervous, I suppose. Always goofy walking into a new one. And the office is rather small. Huh. I’m thrilled “monotony” is what gets most folk to quit. I’m also thrilled needing to pass a background check got me a pay raise. It also gives me access to a Vault. As an Agent. That’s rather funny.

A really attractive, intelligent, Heidi Fleiss type escort could easily earn some money from me right now. Like, the whole night. And she should be very supportive and talky about things and stuff and other stuff. And funny and smart. Sarcastic is good, but only so much, ya know? If only they had my number. That’s a shame. We could make it a whole weekend, and it’ll be great. There’s a Best Western in it for us and everything. Nice soap.

Today we pulled the last of the summer’s honey, in preparation for next Sunday’s HH. Cool day but the bees were doing their best to protect their honey.
My bee partner got about 15 serious bee encounters. Somehow a bee got inside my veil and bit me on the upper lip. Then both ankles were targets of choice.

We got the job done, moved my bees north about 5 miles to reduce the chances of anyone getting stung on HH. Still a lot of bees here but they’ll mostly be dead in a week from exposure since their castle got relocated. I don’t think we’ve ever had a guest stung, those bees remaining are more interested in cleaning up the leftovers.

Looks to be a good average season.

I’m also ignorant, but China’s Long Game is pretty scary in its effectiveness. If China is ~1.4 billion, I kinda assume 5-800 million are kinda living in factories. Then again, I’m largely ignorant. Birds are pretty.
