25 years ago yesterday, my life was set on a course that would otherwise dictate the direction of my life in ways I still cannot fully comprehend.
This is my review of Catalyst Crafted Ales Viotto Saison:

…However I refuse to talk about 9/11. So I’m not going to. Lets look at what else is in the news shall we?
- Dr. Squatch agreed to a $9 million settlement resolving a lawsuit that alleged its products contained synthetic ingredients despite being labeled natural.
- Consumers who purchased eligible products between Nov. 1, 2018, and Aug. 29, 2026, can submit a claim online to receive a cash payout.
- Claimants can receive up to $12.50 depending on whether they have proof of purchase, with a filing deadline of Nov. 27, 2026.
Now Dr. Squatch is a product I happen to use. There are a number of reasons why. For example, would it really surprise you that someone writing for this site has a thing for Sasquatches? More importantly, I no longer wish to use things that are fake. 25 years post 9/11 I am sick and tired of fake things including what people are saying about 9/11.
Then it hits me. I’m talking about 9/11. Goddamnit.
Now Dr. Squatch has denied the allegations but agreed to pay. I am not going to link the settlement or anything, I think the whole thing is absurd. Do they expect me to believe they can actually synthesize Sydney Sweeney just to put homeopathic amounts of Sydney Sweeney bathwater in every bar of soap, thereby cleaning myself with fake Sydney Sweeney?
No. That would be playing God. There’s no way they were able to use synthetic Sydney Sweeney without anyone noticing it. Particularly Sydney Sweeney, who probably has a legion of legal simps waiting to sue for something like that.
In case you have no idea what I am talking about, now is the excuse to post Sydney Sweeney:
A local brand making a saison, they expect me to believe that? Well somehow they actually did it, in spite of the fact I have little reason to believe they left the wort outside in Tempe to gather wild yeasts and microbes floating around. Unless that microbe is Valley Fever, there isn’t much floating around here this time of year so probably not. Does this make it fake? No, and I will have to advise you check with the Glibertarians.com legal department if you feel your rights were violated. As for the beer, its not bad at all, maybe even pretty good. There is a LOT of stiff competition with this style so I have to give them points for taking a stab at it, but I’d probably go with the offerings that I am more familiar. Its sort of like how everyone decided to make a 2011 once the patent expired. Sure the off brand 2011 shoots pretty good, but is it really the one you want? Let the market decide. Catalyst Crafted Ales Viotto Saison: 3.2/5

“they can actually synthesize Sydney Sweeney just to put homeopathic amounts of Sydney Sweeney bathwater in every bar of soap”
If they can extract her DNA, they could clone her.

I’d approve of this, providing all appropriate consent and obligation to me were obliged. I’m sure all would be above board, I just wanna cuddle. She’d be a perfect cuddle.
Cuddle Monster has spoken.
“However I refuse to talk about 9/11. So I’m not going to.”
In that case:
[Bush] visited and gave a speech at Ground Zero, the site of the World Trade Center, on Sept. 14, 2001 — standing amid the wreckage with first responders. He said Wednesday that helping the country returning to normal was his highest priority.
Return to normal?
You fucked that up about as badly as you possibly could have.
You can say that again.
As for the beer, its not bad at all, maybe even pretty good.
It sounds like it would be an acceptable Saison Dupont substitute.
I still need to hit this brewpub in Santa Fe. This week, I think. Their house brews sound very interesting, and I have to drop the new pup off at a doggie daycare for some socializing, so this gives me something to do while he’s clubbing it up with the other dogs.
Bonus, they are taking over the cafe at a motel that’s on our side of town soon, which will be very convenient.
That place looks pretty good. I can’t remember which brewery I visited when I was in Santa Fe. It was close to Cerrillos Road. When I look at a map, I see several within a block of that road.
Ya gotta like the balls on people who brew farmhouse ales and keep Saison DuPont on tap, for a benchmark.
Thank you, RC. I will passing through the area in a couple weeks, and was looking for a good place to stay. That will do nicely.

Oh to rewind to 1995 or so.
Gosh. That album is 2000.
Got that one way wrong. I’d take 2000 as well. From the before times.
“Well, they’re not supernatural, are they?”/Dr. Squatch Legal Department (PROMINENT FOREST LAWYER?)
Does it contain antimatter?
Lab created radioactive elements above plutonium?
Then it’s natural.
Remember how liberals accuse everyone of doing exactly what they do? Example 1,001.
It’s scary stuff. It’s also over-the-top. But whipping up fear, especially among women, is nothing new for the gun industry — or the Second Amendment absolutists who goose their profits by convincing gun owners that their rights are under attack, thereby also convincing them that they must absolutely buy more guns.

The amount of spin in this editorial is mind bending.
That’s brazen. But not surprising. They don’t even bother trying to look objective.
“Gun owners are paranoid and fearful,” is really all they have left. And it doesn’t take many ‘teen takeovers’ or third-world rage mobs to figure out that paranoia is just reality on a finer scale…
It’s not paranoia if they really are out to get you.
Just because they’re out to get you doesn’t mean you’re not paranoid.
Paranoia isn’t thinking everyone’s out to get you. Everyone is out to get you. Paranoia is thinking that everyone is working together to get you.
Hoa about we talk about 9/12 instead and the ongoing contributions of Poland?
If MTV still existed and played that video, they would be accused of a hate crime.
unStoic.

Are those real commercials?? I have never seen any of them. Is it because I mostly watch old people television?
You and me both.
Although right now you cannot escape Republican ads. There were none, then Trump did his Dallas thing, and now the airwaves are suddenly 3/4 Republican ads.
Republicans pounce!
Here in Iowa, we’ve been having a slew of ads (both R and D) for state offices and U.S. Congressional seats for a month or more already. On cue, the more local ads (state house and senate, etc.) started up after labor day. It’s even on all the streaming Roku channels.
Just shoot me.
I just moved to NJ and I don’t think I have seen any political ads yet. Other than that idiot governor and idiot Spartacus I have no idea who runs this place.
A lot of seats here are now considered up for grabs, after Iowa being pretty just red two years ago. The Ds are hitting the tariffs and Iran war as the cause of price increases. Trump has done us no favors.
STEVE SMITH DO UNNATURAL THINGS TO BATHERS
NOTHING UNNATURAL ABOUT IT!
The drug test people never called me about my Rx “Amphetamine Salts” surely making me test positive for.. amphetamines. I messaged work to let them know I hadn’t heard anything, but I’m ready for work on Monday at 9am. She said I’m she also hasn’t received the Background Check, so I’m still “Pending” in the system.
*shrug* Monday at 9am, regardless, unless I’m told otherwise between then. Feels strange to be starting up again. Second time in an office, though this looks like a condensed, far more important version of my picking groceries at Walmart+. Well, I’ll enjoy this weekend as best I can. Stars align and Coyote v Acme will a rare outing for me this eve.
Will have to investigate my nighttime Trazodone uzse. Never did anything for booze, for me, but damn. Shit puts you to sleep. Of the ‘not waking to alarms’ sort. However, I’ve got my old school plug-in alarm that’s loud AF when I need it on Monday+.
I’ve used Dr Squatch for a bit, but ultimately switched to Duke Cannon for my soap needs.
Dr. Bronners hippie soap or GTFO.
I was completely unaware of those commercials. Why doesn’t tubi show them 200 times a night instead of those fucking phone game ads?
No shit. Is there a suggestion box?
Because Tubi plays the ads they are paid to play. The mobile slop-fest makers pay for more ad time.
Only adds under anymore are Liberty Mutual ads for retards.
Back from the Chile pepper festival. It was very busy. Probably the busiest we’ve ever seen it.
Hit a couple of our favorite vendors. Prices are up. Things are rough for everyone, I suppose.
“Why isn’t the riot at the chili pepper festival contained?”
“Sir, the pepper spray did nothing.”
🤣😂
“They’re really leveraging fear,” said Ruth Zakarin, chair of the Vote Yes on 9 campaign, which would retain the stronger gun-safety measures. “It’s not an accurate picture of what safety looks like.”
A opposed to your serenely dispassionate logical arguments.
I have to admit that 25 years ago I did not expect to see my country descend into this kind of vicious stupidity and hatred but here we are.
I’m not going to click and assume it was a mag dump.
That would make me happier.
To be fair, Elmo is a crime against humanity.
“The pro-Palestine costumed agitator was part of a radical counterprotest group that stormed Lower Manhattan Friday in opposition to far-right influencer Jake Lang’s “Crusader March,” where marchers brandished signs declaring “Deport All Muslims.”
The dueling groups descended into chaos — with punches flying and at least one demonstrator being led away in cuffs, sources said.
The disgusting acts took place just blocks away from the solemn 9/11 remembrance ceremony in honor of those who died 25 years ago.”
What they always do: Get Useful Idiots to do something idiotically useful (for the Revolution), do it often enough until the U.I. get’s beaten or shot, etc, parade the (assuredly) minority ‘protester’ as a martyr for The Cause, use it to rile up Lefties, led by their AWFL vanguard, dominate headlines, cash in votes.
Rinse and repeat, with anti-American 9/11 fervor!! Someone WILL react the way the Left wants. We’re a remarkably polite society. Patience.
I have never heard of that person or group. Made up?
‘Idiot who says things we think will sell with our Base, so let’s fund him until he becomes popular and he represents everything we want voters to think of when we say “far-right.”
In that way, made up, yes.
You knew it was coming:
A GiveSendGo for the unknown juror.
Guys got a massive target on his back for those that have convinced themselves that human life has no value.
Nope.
OMG the pic 🤣😂
That is the absolute highlight. Damn, damn good work, there.
Dance Yourself Clean?
I guess I don’t know. Who is the woman at the end of the Week in Pictures?
I think she spoke at mandamais 9/11 thing.
And so. I diverted from my usual Mexican restaurant order (cheese and onion enchiladas) to get tamales. They had pork, which I normally just don’t like, but I explained I haven’t had a tamale since I was a kid getting tamales from Jim’s little cart outside the Sears store. ALSO I was trying to be more adventurous, which I am not. I do not like these tamales and so I had her pack it up and I ordered cheese and onion enchiladas). The salsa also has too much jalapeno in it. 😭
Perhaps a different restaurant needs to audition?
The one I love is ~35 miles away. We tripped over it when our son was living elsewhere a few years ago. They have a salsa that should be a beverage.
Just cheese and onion? I’m also not a pork person, though I like bacon. The food’s gotta have some substance to it, IMO.
I just finished my baked frozen mac ‘n cheese, plenty of sour Skittles, and onto Fruit Loops for snacky dessert. Fun truth: Fuck generic knockoffs. For the $2, you’re getting a much better finger food.
This message is not brought to you by Kellogg’s, though if they’d like to pay me, it will be.
Yes, cheese and onion, lots of red sauce. These cheese and onion enchiladas had no onions.
These guys are in my neighborhood. https://www.thetamalestore.com/tamale-menu
They’re white people friendly (not spicy) and they ship. They’re also vegetarian friendly. The Old Man ate a few at my house and was upset they didn’t use enough chillies.
You had me at not spicy.
Everyone knows that white boys (Rick Bayless) make the best Mexican food.
I had a ghost pepper cheeseburger stuffed pretzel sandwich at the festival.
It was delightful, not keto, but quite good.
Just picked the first few ripe Scorpions. Planning something with them if I’m not too lazy. And dinner will be Wings tonight with Malinda’s Ghost Pepper wing sauce mixed with a few others like this Unicorn Tears from a local guy.
My dad was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He used to wax poetic about the tamale carts on Tamale Tuesdays. We even bought a tamale steamer.
This guy. I don’t remember there being meat in them at all, just corn and red sauce.
I don’t like the texture of masa.
Leftover Chinese food here.
Now I want carnitas.
Companies spend millions for celebrity spokespeople. But, only once has a celebrity spokesman ever gotten me to switch to a new product.
Me too!

That’s too funny.
“Ahoy…”
That’s one of the best ads I’ve ever seen. Oh, I’ve purchased before, and will purchase again.
There was another one as well.
Old Spice doesn’t sell either of the two products I would like to buy from them again.
The “fresh” flavor round stick – not today’s weak shit but the strong stuff that kind of tingles when you put it on. And the same flavor after shave that comes in the porcelain bottle – I still have one of these that I have been using sparingly for a couple decades.
Muh social engineering
As a nonprofit law scholar who helps nonprofit leaders understand the legal issues they face, I believe this latest salvo in the Trump administration’s attempt to end racial preferences stretches U.S. law so far that it will likely be tied up in court for years.
——-
All private schools that are nonprofits depend on this tax exemption, both to save money on income and property tax bills and to attract donations. Without these benefits in place, tuition bills at nonprofit schools could skyrocket and the financial pressures many colleges and universities already face would increase.
Trump is trying to blow up our special pleading racket.
I wonder what he’d say if I told him I’d be fine with all black schools as long as all white schools were granted the same preferential legal status.
Those totally necessary armies of bureaucratic functionaries don’t come cheap.
I hit a new range this morning, with a buddy who I’ve corrupted into 2011s. He’s buying a Kimber 2K11, which I have to admit is a pretty solid gun.
The new range is less than an hour from my house, and has 100-yard, 300-yard, and 1200-yard rifle ranges with all kinds of steel and shooting props, and they’re waiting on the last load of fill dirt to build out six pistol bays. Plus, they do a lot of Tactical Games stuff, so they have a very well-equipped outdoor Crossfit box right on site. Did I mention that this place is less than an hour from my house? Or that there are three different brewpubs between here and there? I may have found heaven.
Okay, the alchemy exhibit at the Linda Hall Library was fantastic. I ended up chatting with the VP of Visitor Experience for quite a very long while. I got lots of pictures.
Oooh, would love to see. Me bit jelly. (Jelly bite back.)
I’ll put pix up on my site, as I’m building the Mechanical Mage section now.
The proposed rule hinges on the Trump administration’s definition of racial discrimination: that any kind of racial preference is wrong and grounds for terminating government support – even when it’s meant to address past injustices, like the decades of systemic discrimination that followed the end of slavery in the United States.
I’m pretty sure the market, in the absence of heavyhanded government meddling, provided alternatives.
“any kind of racial preference is wrong and grounds for terminating government support”
May I introduce you to Ms. Amendment, first name 14th?
And of course, “past injustices” can never, ever be considered “remedied”.
Of course not, after all the person who suffered them is dead. So we just have to give endlessly to their
offspringpeople who happen to have similar complexions‘Past injustices’ like the coffin ships and the coal riots? Because I’ll fucking jump in on that shit.
On topic for Sydney Sweeney!

NSFW.
There is evidence that the government lacks the authority to implement this proposed rule.
Educational groups, such as EdTrust and the American Association of University Professors, have expressed their opposition to the proposed changes. Legal scholars, such as Philip Hackney, Ellen Aprill, Daryll Jones and Brian Galle, have explained why the rule is likely illegal.
That’s not evidence, Egghead. Those are allegations.
In the meantime, many nonprofit schools may end their programs that are designed to address the results of past discrimination out of a fear of potentially losing their tax-exempt status.
Oddly, nary a word about academic qualifications or quality of curriculum.
She’s hot, no doubt. However, the official and objective definition of bombshell requires a D cup or higher.

You don’t make the rules, you just get them wrong.

CIA-backed ops and US Special Forces taking out drug runners south of the border? History repeats, first as tragedy, second as farce.
