Home grown tomatoes are the best.
As a kid, I had to put an hour into our vegetable garden every morning during summer vacation. I swore I would never ever have a garden of my own.
Fast forward to now. Married a farmer’s daughter who insisted on having a garden. We add a new garden every five years or so and now have 5 of them. I’d be mad except I like all the veggies so much. Especially the tomatoes.
Sadly we are just about done with tomatoes for the year.
All tomatoes used in any industrialized food process taste like plastic refuse. They’re selected for their ability to stay somewhat fresh for as long as possible and harvested before they are fresh.

I try to retain some grace for people who lose it on planes, as long as they don’t disrupt the flight operations. There are people who are afraid of flying – sad, but I have my own phobias, and the present Eritrean dungeon tour state of commercial air travel doesn’t help. Some of these people self-medicate with booze or anti-anxiety meds, and that often just makes things worse (especially if you stack the two. To quote a junior high buddy of mine, “Dude, you know those pills that say, ‘Do not mix with alcohol?’ Never mix them with alcohol, dawg…”)
Also, anyone who voluntarily wants out of the US should be cheerfully shown the door.

The show recently returned to the BBC’s iPlayer to mark its 20th anniversary. But 11 old sketches, including one that reportedly showed the comedy duo satirising racism while in blackface, have now been cut.
A BBC spokesman said in a statement: “This is a 20-year-old sketch show; in consultation with the programme makers, we have included the ones that still work today and not the ones that don’t.”
