Iran was hell bent on destabilizing the ME for their own purposes, and those purposes had very little to do with rational thought. They were at a critical tipping point where their ability to conventionally threaten everyone, while they build their bomb (which they then would use), would make it impossible to prevent that scenario from going catastrophic for everyone. And more importantly. Iran was pivotal to the the CCP strategy for their Taiwan invasion plan. Right before they would go after Taiwan, something planned to happen in a couple of years, they would have Iran start shit in the ME (with the threat of nukes on top of it), and bog down both NATO and especially US forces. And Iran was also selling China – illegally – oil at $5 a barrel because of sanctions to the tune of over 15% of CCP annual energy needs. The loss of this cheap energy has drastically set back CCP on energy and shown them how fragile their energy supply would be in a conflict. For now the CCP can forget moving against Taiwan for the next decade unless they just want massive losses.
All the stuff I shared is public (and there is quite a bit more that is not that would freak out everyone). Yes, this Iran shit is problematic, but the alternative is far, far worse. And I again stress that morally being opposed to conflict (war) does not stop the enemy from wanting it – or even doing it – to you when it benefits them and their agenda.
