1. Truth. Cars are twicky, wascally rittle creatures.
2. Tank Man is one of my heroes. Dude just wasn’t gonna take it anymore. RIP
3. Too believable. Well. Why NASA?
4. Best. (I would’ve use “ribs.”) People need reminding how stone age the stone age Native Americans were and acted.
5. I share the mech-warrior’s confusion.
*wascally wittle kweecha’s
All the nails I’ve made are mild steel.
Nails are important. Vital even. You don’t want to skimp on quality, or you get tofu dreg construction.
Shpip would be proud
It came to my attention some years back that there was no collective noun for little people.
However, my suggestion “a shortage of dwarves” was rejected out of hand. Something about “confusing” and “deeply offensive.”
A minimum of little people?
A Diminutive of Dwarves?
a wee of midgets
A fiefdom of little people first struck my mind. Also: A base of little people. A shortage of dwarves is good for small groups; I’d like a cavern of dwarves for a fighting bunch.
A short stack?
A smidget of midgets?
I ran this by my wife and asked her what possible group this could be.
Her response was “I want to say wee little Irish men”
Oh so close
“Really? Lepercons!?”
Keep going…
“It’s dwarves?!”
She shoots she scores she hit the basket one handed across the a tire court and has never touched a basketball in her entire life!
I read her all your comments and she was rolling.
Thumbs up on the Cartoon Medley franchise.
Finally found Threedoor…

So, a week or so back some Islamo-Commie running in the current elections tried to blame the current president for $7 Eggs and got roundly mocked for it.
Today I was in the story and decided I wanted to make deviled eggs in the next few days. When I went to grab the carton I saw $4. But soon realized it was for an 18-count “Cage-Free” carton and the store had rearranged the eggs. While I did locate my $0.95 carton of just “Eggs” in a generic gray catron of recycled carboard, I finally found the $7 Eggs. “Certified Organic, Cage-Free, Pasture-Raised” Eggs in a fancy box for $6.99.
So to admit that $7 eggs do exist, I’ve decided to make Bacon-baked green beans for dinner tonight.
😋
*today in the store.
I typ gud.
No, no. Today and everyday we’re all in the Story.
Nice.
$1.69 a dozen here. Still a decent bargain.
My dumpy old supermarket just closed and reopened in huge, brand-new quarters across the street, on the 2nd floor of one of those 50- or 60-story condo buildings that are sprouting up all over Jersey City. It’s like the Ithaca Wegmans, only new and cleaner. I think I saw some fancy egg varieties but not as many as Wegmans but yeah I couldn’t care less – eggs are one item I see no reason to splurge on.
I think
We’re over $5 still for 18 extra large here.
I’ve stocked, picked, staged, delivered, and perhaps ordered eggs this year. I have not purchased any. ¯\(◉_◉)/¯
IIRC, I rarely made eggs even when I was regularly cooking my own food. I like eggs. I’m good at making them. They don’t take long to make. The mess is fairly self-contained. Scrambled eggs with morning-after pizza was always fun and popular.
I’m not sure I can furrow my face at myself any further. ᕦ⊙෴⊙ᕤ
Sure.
#1 is STEVEN SEA GAL, police dude.
#2 just makes me sad.
Yah and never forget that it is the same government that is still ruling today.
#3 is dr. Foochi explaining that COVID cooties refuse to enter Detroit.
My prediction about the now-demoralized Rays is holding up. I still predict a sweep. Same as the Dodgers, even *after* Ohtani ‘woke up’ offensively with a 3-run shot… they lost, soul sucked out. And not in pie’s sexy, sweet, yet succulent fashion. But that other pie’s way, yeaaaah. Gettin’ sucked out at the Factory may cost a bit more. Maybe get some pickle fries.
lol 5-0. Suck it, Florida.
Make that 7-0.
Dayum.
This also does make me feel better: I *know* how good the Brewers have been. Cubs had ’em for a long while. Tight fight. Daaaammit!
At least we got beat by the Best. (There’s some sports ‘wisdom,’ or makes it go down a bit better, when NOT losing the WS.)
Commercial break now… 10-0. Jeebus.
Strike two (on me): I’m still rooting for Game 7 and always was, so this is still a big negative. Fucking 5″ at second base kept this inning alive. They’re good. (Milwaukee deserves it.)
The question to me isn’t whether the Supremes will strike down the Illinois AR ban. The question is what fuckery comes after that? What’s the next gimmick or tweak that they’ll rubber stamp into law a few days after the decision to strip people of their second amendment rights so people have to spend another 10 years litigating for it?
Are they just going to keep banning different random sets of criteria that any honest person would say were already covered by previous rulings? Or do we get something a bit more imaginative?
Yeah. We know how five of them will vote right off.
Yes.
They will fire off as many bans and restrictions as they can both of slightly modified forms and innovative infringements knowing the courts will take years to overturn each.
I confess I did not make #1. I saw it years ago and thought it was funny.
My blog is having its best month ever. Maybe my latest novella is appealing. It’s about halfway done now. It’s a post-apocalyptic novel following the collapse of civilization after a bunch of volcanoes erupt and the ash blots out the sun for years.
I’m trying to write 2,000 words of fiction per day. It’s been getting easier. I applied to a bunch of jobs and followed up on ones I applied to before. Nothing yet, but the window factory I applied to seems eager to hire.
My fortune cookie message said I don’t need to worry about having a steady income. Oddly appropriate.
Speaking of Chinese, metaphors from that language called chengyu were the inspiration for Darmok on TNG. My favorite one is “draw snake, add feet”. It means to overdo something, sort of like the English phrase “quit while you’re ahead”.

The phrase you’re referring to is a well‑known Chinese proverb: “好铁不打钉,好汉不当兵” (hǎo tiě bù dǎ dīng, hǎo hàn bù dāng bīng), often translated as “Good iron is not beaten into nails; good men do not become soldiers”
…
The saying is most often linked to the Song Dynasty (960–1279), when there was a strong cultural preference for scholars and literature over military service
In the Song period, the literati class (scholars) held high social status, while the military was considered a lower occupation in the Confucian social hierarchy

The martial nature of the West is generally not appreciated as it relates to its success.
I saw the lightbar on the APC and my mind immediately went to blue helmet and that being exactly what an AR is for.
Someone check on CPRM, as he’s about to have an erection lasting more than four hours (on second thought — probably a bad idea).
Brewers put up eight two-out runs in the top of the fifth, take a 10-0 lead into the middle of the inning.
who?
why should anyone care?
