A lot has happened over the weekend, so I’m going to skip the intro and just do what we do on Tuesdays around here…

¡Enlaces!
Something I missed last week, a prison riot involving nine inmates and one visitor left dead in Sinaloa.
Yeah, I don’t think this will be anywhere near the long list of decisions Mexico gets wrong.
I hate making the #2 Conservative Joke (TM), which is but he identified as an immigrant. Its still funny at least compared to #1, which is “57 States.”
If you have not heard at this point, Lula shocks the world! Okay, its not that shocking. The narrative goes, there is a peculiarity in Brazilian electro procedure in which once the polls close, the voting machines cannot be turned back on thereby locking in the vote result for that precinct with the polls closing at 5pm local time. Due to the perception that votes were being suppressed because buses to the polls were not running on time (after all this is Brazil not Italy). Lula’s team decided to file an extension with the courts–which was granted for an additional two hours. This was not filed with the proper court, and Lula went directly to an appellate court with a personal tie on the bench. How personal? The guy apparently was formerly his defense lawyer. Precincts friendly to Lula remained open in anticipation of a favorable result, while polls in the Bolsonaro-friendlier south closed promptly at 5pm local time. This 2 hour extension was granted and Lula wins, unexpectedly and around the world everyone paying attention (*cough* Trump *cough*) seems to believe he pulled a Maduro and celebrating it. Lula has since declared that he will make good on his promise to regulate social media, and jail Flavio Bolsonaro like he did his father Jair. Officials have already seized Flavio’s passport. I have seen rumors that he made it to Argentina in a Gulfstream, however I haven’t seen an AP level confirmation of that.
That’s the narrative. What can be confirmed is that Bolsonaro also filed an extension, and the votes that were counted amounted to 34,000 while the popular vote total exceeded 4 million. While this looks flagrantly corrupt, from a politician with a long history of corruption, this might in fact be the correct result. How did Lula pull out millions of votes out of the ether? Brazil has another peculiarity in their elections in that all voters are required to turn in a ballot, with the option to not vote. I couldn’t find anything as to average turnouts relative to this one, but I think it is possible NOTA was a bigger factor in round 1 of voting that converted to a legitimate vote for Lula in round 2. Why? I don’t think I need to spend a lot of time explaining that the northern part of Brazil are among the poorest people on Earth and are probably stupid as hell, propped up economically by 3-4 southern industrialized states that by themselves rival EU nations in economic output. In short, the winner of every Brazilian election is won on the back of sub 90-IQ illiterates. How did Jair win then? His bravado I imagine appealed to a few of these in 2018 but ultimately government handouts are too good to pass up. At this point, Bolsonaro’s party conceded, others around the world have followed suit in congratulating Lula’s victory….
…With one exception.
¡Mi Caudillo!

That’s pretty common here, too.
Why they want so many more to come here.
I would submit that most of the people organizing the domestic vote fraud are not super high up on the IQ scale either.
That’s pretty common here, too.
I disagree, here we strive to convince midwits voting for communism is the smart thing to do.
That’s a better explanation of Brazil’s election than I have seen anywhere else. Good work MS.
And what a great gif
Thank you.
Agreed. I still the election was fishy.
It was fishy, will be fishy, always will remain fishy.
Concur.
It does seem . . . odd . . . that the conservatives won the parliamentary elections by a landslide, and the commies won the presidential election by, err, an opposite landslide.
No no no.
This is DEMOCRACY!
In a country that’s basically still a narco-state, obviously the first and most important priority is building out wind and solar 🙄️
Legalize drugs in the US and bankrupt Mexico.
They’ll plant even more poppies.
If Bolsonaro knew what was good for him he would have been headed for the exit before the ice in the champagne chiller melted.
Hold your election night party at the border.
That author is arguing that cheap energy is a bad thing for Mexico? That’s effing retarded. Why should Mexico or any other country saddle themselves with expensive energy?
Religion.
Think of the investment opportunities!
To bask in the warming glow of approval from globalist elites?
From the other thread… The Island of Dr. Moreau features an uplifted dog. Also generally considered the first use of the “uplift” idea.
No, that was Red Hot Chili Peppers.
has it left the country dangerously exposed to a single fuel?
How much of that single fuel is there?
My guess is they aren’t in imminent danger of running out.
They’re importing it from the US at a substantially lower cost then the global LNG market. This is a problem, as the author sees it.
The poors should be huddled, shivering masses.
It’s for their own good.
Sell crazy some place else, we’re all stocked up here.
Let me see if I parse this correctly:
Man is mentally ill
Mentally ill dude claims to have been born in Jamaica
ICE tries to depart mentally ill dude
Family, lawyers, and public records say mentally ill dude was born on US soil and is a citizen
ICE continues to try to depart the due
I fully support deporting any illegal immigrant regardless of how long the immigrant has lived here as a saint.
But I can’t support deporting US citizens who are nuts and can’t defend themselves.
If he wants to identify as Jamaican, you’re not supposed to stop him.
Democrat rules.
I tapped out of that story after seeing the third alias he’s using.
He’s gunning for a free vacation and a BBQ.
So, when do we Maduro Lula?
After Raul Castro.
Beat that dead horse
Democrats hoping to regain power in Washington next year are seeking to revive a clean energy agenda rolled over by Republicans and President Donald Trump. But first they’ll need to decide whether that includes once-vaunted — but now fully politicized — electric vehicle buyer incentives.
Once a pillar of the Democratic clean energy agenda, the EV tax credits may now be a political liability. And the party is divided over whether they should revive the EV tax credits that the Trump administration has lambasted over the past few years — and that the American public has lost some of its enthusiasm for, according to polling.
——-
“It’s become polarized,” said one Democratic adviser working on energy issues, granted anonymity to speak candidly on party discussions, on the EV credits. “It’s become kind of synonymous with elite, liberal, coastal, kind of out-of-touch policy and politics. …There’s been a little more hesitance to speak directly about the tax credits.”
Democrats expanded a $7,500 consumer tax credit for new EVs in their sweeping domestic policy law, the Inflation Reduction Act, but Republicans ended the credit last year — and Democratic Party leaders have so far been noncommittal on whether they’ll move to renew it.
But House Democrats have been adamant in their belief that their party should seek to bring the credits back not just as a means to make EVs more affordable for consumers but to also protect against China’s potential dominance in the industry.
Everybody knows Chinese and American EVs are directly interchangeable.
Just like everybody knows America is being left behind in the great race to zero emission vehicles.
Right, it was never political to begin with. It was just good policy, which went through the political process and was heavily favored by only one side.
They are full of shit. Before Elon became persona non grata, they gladly shoveled credits to him and his companies, and lauded him as the real life Tony Stark.
Funny part is, Elon always maintained that while he will gladly benefit from the sales the credits generate, the credits were more of a crutch to Ford and GM and their fledgling, bumbling EV programs. Turns out the credits ended and he was right.
I tried borrowing Suicidal Empathy from my local library, but somehow it has disappeared from the shelf and is no longer available. I suspect some tolerant employee or customer stole it or hid it so no one could read it. I suggested the librarian check the Banned Books section, but apparently it wasn’t there either.
That section is reserved exclusively for LGBTQ2SIA++ cartoon sex manuals that have been removed from public elementary schools.
To be fair, the books in that section were more along the lines of To Kill a Mockingbird. The QWERTY books were in the kids section.
Maybe the lost and found?

Interesting. I saw something earlier which referred to a seemingly highly improbable vote swing, and a big jump in total votes. Maybe that accounts for some of it.
The swing still seems highly improbable. Who knows?
I assume shenanigans but can’t prove it.
2027 is going to be the year of retribution on the level Maga thought Trump would actually do if Dems get their wins.
They are campaigning entirely on hate so yes, I expect nothing less than titanic attempts to punish the people they hate with whatever power they can muster after next week and going forward. Trump, anyone associated with Trump, and anyone who voted for or supported Trump. With the backing of most of the country’s institutions and an army of friendly judges it will be child’s play.
They only thing they will lack for this massive retribution is, umm, federal prosecutors. It will be interesting to see how much retribution they can exact with other fed pubsecs that Trump has spent the last two years demonstrating he can pretty much fire at will.
Knowing that they will be lauded as heroes and have any consequences overturned by the judiciary, I don’t think finding federal prosecutors will be any sort of problem. Plus as Brooks mentioned, there’s always the state AG game. And of course, the Hollywood-produced congressional hearings and impeachments require no cooperation from any non-political entity.
I’m sure all of the leftist twats who were hyperventilating about Trump’s “I am your retribution” line will raise highly principled objections to political witch hunts though…
Oh, no
Have you bought beef jerky recently? It might be time to throw it out, according to a recall notice from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.
Imperio Distributions LLC is recalling over 900 pounds of beef jerky produced “without the benefit of inspection.”
“Food produced without inspection may contain undeclared allergens, harmful bacteria, or other contaminants that put consumer health and safety at risk,” according to the FSIS.
May, or may not.
My understanding is that federal inspectors only do batch checks on something like 1% of the product shipped out anyway, so I can’t imagine it would matter.
900 lbs of jerky is probably the weekly turnover at a single interstate truck stop.
900 pounds is one cow
Or three blue haired patrons of the Last Ditch.
Update
A Massachusetts lesbian bar that went viral for loosening its Covid mask policy last month announced plans to “soft close” on Monday as it seeks new ownership.
The Last Ditch bar, in the small city of Greenfield, said in an Instagram post that it was searching for co-owners, new owners or a full sale, and that it would “soft close effective immediately”, with “only booked events” continuing while it closes this winter. It had opened just last year as a bar for “dykes, transsexuals, gender freaks, workers, and their friends”.
Last month the bar went viral following a Boston Globe story documenting a masking dispute after the owners attempted to relax the bar’s Covid mask-wearing policy for one night a week in an effort to drive up Saturday business. The bar had been struggling to raise revenue while adhering to a strict policy of mask-wearing, but the proposed change prompted a backlash from customers who accused the owners of ableism and abandoning immunocompromised people.
There was then a backlash to those critics, with people piling on and mocking customers’ concerns about contracting Covid.
That place sounds like a gold mine. It’s a can’t-lose proposition for any serious investor.
Is a small hole in masks allowed for straws or do people take them off when drinking?
For “straws”
Guardian sez:
The far-right senator Flávio Bolsonaro has reportedly fled Brazil and is on his way to the United States after losing Sunday’s presidential election to the leftwing incumbent, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
A report by the news website Metrópoles, citing people close to the politician’s family, said he was en route to the US. “The plane is in flight,” Metrópoles reported, without making clear where it had departed from.
Bolsonaro allies told Metrópoles that he would land in Florida on Tuesday afternoon and planned to request political asylum. “The Donald Trump administration has been informed,” the website added.
Allies also confirmed to the Folha de S Paulo newspaper that he was on his way to the US, and said the escape plan had been “organized and enabled by a lawyer close to the Bolsonaro clan”.
Of course Trump will roll out the red carpet for a far right extremist authoritarian on the run from democracy.
Reuters is reporting he is in the US at an undisclosed location.
Expect a leak from the Deep State to Antifa.
Yeah they will jump all over that. “Trump is literally Hitler and he’s protecting Hitler!”
Excellent!

Trump administration grants Flávio Bolsonaro visa after election loss
It’s ironic that he actually meets the criteria to request asylum under our laws unlike the horde of economic migrants demanding it at the border, but the usual suspects will be up in arms over this.
Like I don’t know why someone gets “due process” (by which they mean years of court cases and staying in the country indefinitely if they don’t just vanish in the interior) when the initial claim they are making doesn’t even remotely match the actual asylum laws that are on America’s books.
Generalized violence in the shitty home country very clearly and unquestionably does not allow for asylum in the US. Especially when passing through multiple countries the US has designated as safe harbors.
And the asylum requests we see in the news all the time? They don’t even try to claim it fits any of the designated criteria the US has.
It’s one of the most absurd instances of ignoring our laws as written that I can think of to just allow the powers that be to do whatever the fuck they want. Like the NGO’s and Obama people who came up with abusing asylum probably think they’re slick, but it strikes me more as daring someone to stop them than anything clever.
The courts just somewhat go along with the bullshit and Congress sure as fuck won’t do anything but the shit is just blatantly an abuse of our laws.
It only takes The Guardian 21 paragraphs to arrive at describing the potential charges against Bolsonaro.
He is guilty of wrong think. We all already know that!
Lula has quietly had his enemies prosecuted before. The same was attempted against him. It’s just normal banana republic bullshit.
If I saw AP “confirm” anything I’m not sure I would believe it.
At the time of posting, the most reliable person reporting the rumors was Glen Greenwald. I see others did confirm it later today.
A tried-and-tested technique everywhere. Just ask the American Democratic Party.
So, I kinda respect the hustle: https://thepostmillennial.com/news/chicago-man-sentenced-to-2-years-in-prison-for-staging-hundreds-of-fake-robberies-to-get-visas-for-victims-in-immigration-fraud-scheme
But there’s no way this scam could have gone on as long as it did, without some level of compliance from the system that’s supposed to be checking this stuff.
I consider myself more clued in than average when it comes to immigration law, but wasn’t aware of the U-visa. It seems pretty much custom-engineered for exactly this type of scam.
The purpose of a system is what it does.
This cannot be allowed to continue.
Will the last white South African to leave please tur… nevermind. The lights will go off themselves.
I saw a video of rioting and looting in SA from years ago.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6LlvWrNg6Q
At the 1:00 mark, it shows looted liquor store next to a looted KFC. No stereotypes were harmed…
A+ trolling
Since well before I was born the goal of the left has been to make the country less white.
I’m fine admitting at this point that my goal is the opposite of that. That the left materially wants to decrease white immigrants while increasing brown ones tells you everything about what effect they have in the aggregate when they get here.
Also should add that the left went apeshit trying to debunk the basis of white South African asylum claims. There was no violence against them etc.
The country is just as much of a violent shithole and probably more dangerous for whites than the average beaner fleeing some South or Latin American shithole. But they can’t accept their own rules being turned against them. If generalized violence and shitholeness is enough for an asylum claim, white South Africans have every right to be here.
Powers that Be – I’ve submitted a four part article on the 3D printer upgrade that I was threatening you lot with.
Use it to fill gaps in the content as needed.
They only thing they will lack for this massive retribution is, umm, federal prosecutors. It will be interesting to see how much retribution they can exact with other fed pubsecs that Trump has spent the last two years demonstrating he can pretty much fire at will.
There are always eager and willing state AGs.
The New York AG is somewhat familiar with political retribution agendas.
Those state AGs are able and willing now, but probably not so much in states with Red AGs and/or Governors. I don’t know why they would suddenly go feral because the Dems took Congress.
Federal prosecutors may just be itching to go after Repubs, but doing so with a Repub AG at Main Justice just isn’t gonna work.
I got another assembly line job. This time, I’ll be building diesel-powered industrial heaters. It’ll be like working on jet engines. $18/hour to start. Yay me.
Mazel tov! Figures you’d get into the petroleum industry, shitlord.
Congratulations
Should we start a pool?
Ouch.

This will be my 24th job in 25 years, and my 11th job in the past 5 years.
All I can do is try. Hopefully I’ll stay with this employer for a long time. They’re expanding and are desperate for people. Plus I can walk to work.
My last 8 jobs lasted 2 months or less. It’s made me somewhat apathetic in general. I’ll work whatever job I get for as long as I can, and if I don’t have one, I’ll look for another. Que sera sera.
Shikata ga nai. Amri li allah.
Darmok on the ocean, the beast of Tanagra…
Derp, I don’t want to be condescending but the job turnover especially at places like many of them have been is kind of concerning. You aren’t a dumb guy and that’s pretty abnormal. Everyone would be thrilled to see you succeed, but something is kind of wrong with this picture.
There has to be common denominators involved that you need to address. And I don’t think it’s about being professional. You’ve held jobs before so something is obviously different.
I’m with Bro.
When I was a young lad one year I out in 34 job applications, followed up on all of them at least twice. Got two or three impromptu interviews and nary a job.
I got two due to connections. One in between and one after on my own. None were good jobs and piss poor wage when adjusted for inflation today.
Now it seems to be a hell of a good market to be on the employee end of a job hunt. Show up with a pulse and keep showing up and you’ve got enough to eat.
I’ve been canned three times and it sucked. None of them due to poor performance, theft or other bad behavior. Personality clash, being sick, and after a year and a half at one job simply wanting weekends off.
I wish you well.
I got fired from my last 3 jobs because they said I was working too slowly. I just don’t have much energy or enthusiasm anymore. Alcohol may be a factor there. It’s kind of a chicken-and-egg situation.
Other jobs I’ve lost because I got in an argument with someone or said the wrong thing. The less I say at work, the better, it seems.
I don’t want to spend the rest of my life as an idler, but I might end up as such.
I do well in jobs where I work quietly on my own, so I think I’ll do OK at this job. It’s similar work to what I did in the golf cart factory 4 years ago. I quit there after a year to give math teaching another try. I thought that would be a better fit. It was worth a shot.
Army and Peace Corps are the jobs I liked the most and kept the longest. That’s a clue. I had high motivation for both. That’s another clue. Both involved foreign languages. Clue #3.
Bottom line, if I like this new job, I should be able to keep it.
What could possibly go wrong?
Philadelphia is preparing to become the first city in the nation to offer this mortgage model, with lower interest rates, no private mortgage insurance, and credit scores as low as 620.
I’m wondering which bank the city will strong-arm to go along with this.
Didn’t we run this experiment before?
Practice makes perfect.
True Mortgage Equity Has Never Been Tried! Argle Bargle Blarg
We won’t be on the road to economic equality until this is scaled up to the level that it wrecks the economy again and makes everyone poorer.
Haven’t you heard of the replication crisis?
@Mr Ilium – isn’t that where nanomachines make more of themsevles until they devour the world?
The Bank of Von Neumann will be issuing those loans. Make enough of them and it’ll surely pay off.
That’s the replicator crisis, Unciv.
They should also go the government subsidized second mortgage route that California is proposing.
Bought an Osight and Holsun compact closed emitter pistol sights.
Everybody craps on Osight, but I figured I’d give it a shot as it is half the price.
Got the tactical green for Osight and saved money on the Holosun and got yellow which is unique to them. I prefer the yellow at least indoors and at the range.
Buttons and UI go to the Holosun. Not a fan of how hard you press the buttons on the Osight.
Weight and glass clarity go to the Osight.
So far the Osight doesn’t suck, but early days. I bought it because it will cowitness and the Holosun won’t with stock sights. However, you only get half the dot. So I’ve got taller sights on order.
The Olight flashlights are quite good. I have an Arklight Pro I daily carry.
Olight jumped on the “gunfluencer” bandwagon and hands them out like candy.
This has lead some to question the quality. The feeling is if it is that good it should sell itself.
Also Olight had some flaming flashlights including somebody who I seem to recall was severely injured or killed.
Worst thing I’ve actually seen is somebody who multi drop tested it and put it in water and had ingress. His test wasn’t abusive it shouldn’t have had ingress.
Other tests have people running thousands of rounds.
Nobody bitched that it didn’t hold zero which is my main concern.
I have a few. They’re Chinese make, and you can pretty much tell. They’re fine, but not as good as Streamlight or SureFire.
Holosun is Chinese too. They just went upmarket.
China absolutely can make quality, it’s just that they normally prefer to compete on price.
I found that if I get the red dot above the front post, I’m on target. Above, not on. I can’t cowitness the rear sights.
I like cowitnessed red dots. I have them on my shotgun and my main handgun. I’m not sure what you mean by cowitnessing the rear sight. For me, cowitnessing means the dot goes the front sight, the rear sight is a nonissue.
I sight mine in so the dot sits on top of the front post, BTW.
On the CZ the original sights are made to cowitness with an optic.
The Glock, not so much, but kind of. The Glock sights are plastic so I was always planning to replace them. That said my plastic sights on my G21 have been fine for 30 years.
That’s a logical position to
Me. Wouldnt conflict with the front sight.
The Bee is doing straight news again.
Congresswoman Ilhan Omar reportedly held a lengthy phone call with former President Barack Obama on Tuesday, during which she inquired whether or not he still had the number for that birth certificate guy.
#TIL that your eyeballs (other than your irises) are pigmented (or not), and the level of pigment you have is a major determiner of your light sensitivity AND that what you do have fades as you age AND that it is commensurate with your skin color (which happens to be glow-in-the-dark) AND that my eyeball looked like the inside of my uterus before it got nuked AND that there is nothing to be done about light sensitivity because it’s not a disease and it’s not something you can fix.
OT. Thought of you this AM.

(Supposed to be a reply to Mojeaux, of course.)
A little discomfited by being thought of in relation to that particular author … 😵💫
Chemicals in the water making people pigmented!!
Sorry. I don’t know what the hell is happening here.
Had an eye exam today (first in 3 years) because I’m getting increasingly light sensitive and I was alarmed.
And when I’ve seen guys with tan whites I usually figured they were just jaundiced.
<– Born with ocular albinism. Lack of pigment on the retinas is a bitch.
