Monday Morning Links

The Browns are making everybody in Cleveland happy. The Rays are making everyone there sad. The Steelers won an ugly game and are tied with the Browns and Ravens for first in the division. The Chargers stink and Harbaugh may be looking for a new job soon. Sadly for him he’s no longer welcome in the NCAA. This wasn’t about gender, you idiots who are trying to make it about gender. But the struggle sessions will happen anyway. And across the pond, ManUre continue to suck. Hopefully Spurs lose today and stay in the basement. That’s it for sports so I’m moving on.

“You can’t quit now. I’ll need somebody to blame.” That’s after he blamed Trump, by the way. What a chump. A whiff of grapeshot would probably settle things down. RETVRN!

He appears to be correct. And he should be free to do so, but not on our dime anymore. Let Europe step up if they want to fund this meat grinder.

This is not surprising. Not one bit.

Make it happen! For several reasons.

I’ll tell you why: Because she’s a fucking idiot.

This is awful. I wonder if the EU will step up or simply complain that the US isn’t funding everything in the world.

I guess they don’t want the cartels to lose their power. The top officials know who butters their bread.

Did they learn a valuable lesson? Hopefully. Either way, it’s a damn shame.

And we still don’t know what happened. I guess the Canadian government doesn’t want anybody to know.

Who gets into a fight in a corn maze? Jeez. Relax, people.

Going with some new music today. Well, new for me. And I think it’s pretty good. Hopefully they make it big. Enjoy them both.

And enjoy this lovely Monday, dear friends.

impose “very limited” and “localized” curfews in cities to prevent more rioting and looting

lol “Limited” and “localized” to whom and to where, I wonder?

    • AlexinCT

I know these leftards always fall back on the excuse that they are not evil, just super inept, but this could be stopped in a single 24 hr cycle. As napoleon pointed out back when, you immediately hang a bunch of the troublemakers, publicly, and that shit stops immediately.

    • (((Jarflax

Yes, making it illegal to be out will definitely stop the people committing assault, theft and arson.

      • AlexinCT

They need Koh-moh-loh to drunkenly explain to them that this shit is not going to stop. That it should not stop….

      • Not Adahn

Eh, it gives an excuse for les popo to arrest someone without having to show any cause that they’re bad.

It’s always made up shit with these people.

      • rhywun

And when they get caught out on the lies, they just ignore it and move on to the next lie. Their readers certainly won’t notice.

      • AlexinCT

Been arguing with my lib sibling. it is not just that they move on from the lie. They find something – anything – to hang on and justify their belief. Immaterial shit, made up assumptions, whatever. But they explain it away as their truth, and nothing you say can dissuade them from that belief. Paraphrasing what Scott Adams used to say: A movie is playing, and the left is seeing and making up their own story.

I’ve been cleaning up dead trees around my yard. A pile of free wood stacked out at the end of my driveway. No one would steal it. Finally I put a “FREE” sign out. It took 2 more weeks before it disappeared. Now I have a pick up load out there, no interest.

Folks here are too honest or lazy or have their own. I have more to go but I’ll wait ’til at least the pile goes down.

Admittedly we’re off the beaten trail but still…

“The schools are poor, let’s tear them down”

From what I read, they are now showing up with lists of whom owns stores, and unless it is owned by a muslim, they loot and burn it. But the propaganda machine of the EU master class needs to keep their serfs in the dark about what is really going on, soooo…

      • (((Jarflax

This is going to end in ethnic cleansing. The only question is which ethnicity disappears, and frankly (pun intended) I think the odds are on it being the French.

      • R C Dean

If you shoot enough of them, it will stop the looting and rioting.

Unfortunately, the number needing to be shot is probably in the five figures. Maybe six. I don’t know if the West has the stones to do the ethnic cleansing necessary to save itself.

      • UnCivilServant

Shoot seven figures worth, just to be sure. And sterilize the rest.

      • AlexinCT

Do we have plans to take or destroy France’s nukes, yet? Cause if not…

      • R C Dean

Martial law. Nationwide curfew. Anyone on the streets during the curfew is shot on sight. Period. Man, woman or child.

Any public gatherings above a certain size are subject to arrest of all concerned, or being shot on sight.

This will be over within a few days if some pretty obvious measures are taken.

From there, we can move on to mass remigration and decolonization of France. And it should be called “decolonization”.

Unfortunately, their election isn’t until next May, I think, which is probably too late.

Democrat billionaires are all about more taxes. As long as their buddies in the CPP-DNC make them an exception/loophole. The taxes will impact their rivals, and more importantly anyone else trying to become a billionaire, and that is wat they want and why they prop up that system of crookery.

      • Ted S.

A curfew. Jeebus that is lame. And from what I have seen, they are rioting in broad daylight. WTF is a curfew going to accomplish.

    • UnCivilServant

A curfew was supposed to be the perforated lid which let your embers smolder without going out or using up all your fuel over night so you can stoke the fire back up in the morning.

So I don’t think it’d do much with regards to burning cities. Won’t find a curfew big enough for that.

    • (((Jarflax

If the curfew fails a sternly worded memo is already being drafted! Tearful pleas for unity in this time of crisis are not out of the question!

Border czar Tom Homan says there’s ‘strong’ evidence that could lead to Ilhan Omar’s deportation as Obama comes to defense of congresswoman

Speaking of people with a sketchy claim to citizenship. It was conclusively shown that the Adobe document released as a scan of his birth certificate was massively doctored, and the original has been kept locked up in a safe in Hawaii so no one can inspect it. Nothing to see there.

    • rhywun

Everything around that empty suit is and always was so fucking sketchy but everybody was dazzled by how cocoa-colored and articulate he was to the point where nobody was allowed to question how manufactured his rise was.

    • Not Adahn

What will be fascinating if there’s DNA evidence that She’s an Elmi, not an Omar is exactly how many milliseconds it will take for the first argument that Somali concepts of family are completely different than Euro-colonizer standards of consanguinity or something.

      • rhywun

The whole “family-reunification” nonsense is a gigantic swindle on the American people. Nobody asked for it and here we are. You can “close the border” but *poof* we’re still welcoming hordes of who knows who with zero questions asked.

  9. R C Dean

    This is awful.

Yeah, how terrible that Hamas may lose a big source of its leverage over the Gazans.

    • rhywun

Hasn’t it already been confirmed that if anyone is starving there, it’s because Hamas is stealing the food for themselves? It’s not like the rest of the world isn’t flooding the zone with supplies.

  10. R C Dean

Did they learn a valuable lesson?

Yeah, more and more, this isn’t a high-trust society any more.

    • Nephilium

Results differ based on locality. Out in the exurbs here, honor stands are still a common sight. Usually with no cameras that I can see.

    • R C Dean

That would be covered under “more and more”.

I do get tired of saying “generally”, and having people say “Nuh-uh! You’re wrong! There’s a single exception over there!”

      • DEG

        /insert first time meme

      • Nephilium

They’ve already started fading out of the suburbs around here, and I noticed up near the Gulch, that all of the roadside stands had very conspicuous cameras focusing on the stand and the road to record any poor behavior. I’ll also wager that for most of the ones that I see, they’re to get rid of excess items rather than any necessary income.

  11. UnCivilServant

Day after day I sit down to write, but only worldbuild.

What good is a comprehensive world if no stories take place within it?

      • UnCivilServant

That would not even be hilariously bad. It’d be so bad it’s awful.

      • Ted S.

We’ll be the judge of that. 🙂

      • AlexinCT

A girl I dated a long time ago was into writing them romance novels for chicks. She told me all you needed as a formula was a beast of a guy (or, these days, just a man beast), some rape, and it ends with anal sex. I thought she was being stupid, but then I researched that genre and found she was dead on. I still sport the scars from that endeavor.

    • UnCivilServant

Is it a freestanding desk, or do you have a cube? Is there elbow room? How’s the lighting?

      • AlexinCT

Ask the important questions, man. Like: Do you have your own red stapler? And they didn’t put you down in the basement and give you a can of roach spray, right?

      • Evan from Evansville

Desk space on a table for 3, two monitors and a laptop. Plenty of space and my own storing area. Plenty of elbow room and decent, normal, non -threatening lighting.

I have my own automatic stapler! Black. Brand, undetermined. First day ending at 530 w 40min lunch. Guessing I’ll spend it all in my car, or 20min minimum.

Gonna dive in for the day, but Break 1 in an hour. Best o’ luck, Glibs.

      • rhywun

My work just released a video showing the new “office spaces” they’re developing at the new “campus” and presumably elsewhere. As expected, “cubes” of any kind are a thing of the past. I do NOT want to be elbow-to-elbow with my neighbor, I don’t care if there’s room.

    Personal happiness report:

Last weekend was two almost painfully beautiful days, each with a shooting match. Sunday’s was a format change to encourage speed wherein all Ds were scored as Cs and most of the targets were within 10 yards. I apparently can’t shoot fast splits, but can shoot on the move and running backwards to an extent that let me finish in the top quarter. I should have brought an irons gun since I never saw a dot on at least two stages. I did use it on steel.

    • PieInTheSky

have you considered shooting from the hip while on the move?

  14. Nephilium

Good thing the Browns have beaten both the Ravens and the Stillers to be #1 in the AFC North. We’ll need to count on our sibling team to take care of the Ravens this Sunday.

    • R C Dean

Fucking Cowboys.Their sub-mediocrity was inevitable (and indeed, predicted by some (ahem)) when they puked their entire salary cap all over Prescott. I guess I can’t fault him for wanting to make as much money as possible, but he guaranteed he would never win a Super Bowl, a conference championship or a division championship with that contract.

How long can the Bolts maintain their streak?

      • Nephilium

The Rams and Eagles collapse has been entertaining to me. I don’t think the Watson experience is sustainable, and the fans are already sick of his bad play (there were plenty of audible boos on Sunday against Watson), but I’ll take the last second wins while we can get them. Kardiac Kids 2.0.

The French pension system is a direct transfer system: current contributions by workers are paid out directly to fund today’s retirees, rather than being saved into a fund.

“Contrib PC” is a transfer from the education ministry into the bank account that pays out the pensions of retired civil servants. The expense is categorised in the French budget as spending on education, but is actually going to today’s retirees.

In August, Lattanzio’s take-home pay was €2,662.27. The direct contribution to pensions by his employer – the French education ministry – was €2,896.08. An additional €351.63 was also deducted from his pay for pensions as well.

Lattanzio published an analysis comparing the French budget of 2006 to that of 2026 and concluded that although spending on education appeared to have risen over time, in fact the vast majority of the increase was to pay for pension payments to retired civil servants.

    https://www.irishtimes.com/world/europe/2026/10/16/a-bombshell-french-teachers-spot-something-on-payslips-which-reveals-scale-of-funding-crisis/

I suggest lowering the pension age, this way current teachers can enjoy pensions faster.

    • rhywun

the vast majority of the increase was to pay for pension payments to retired civil servants

It is the same story anywhere there is a public sector and it is allowed to vote itself ever-increasing benefits.

As intriguing as the French riots should be for communists, there’s no revolutionary party, nor even spontaneously formed workers’ councils. We must recognize the struggles’ significance without mistaking them for a revolutionary movement capable of overthrowing capitalism.
