“Trump: Somalis Should Go Home and Fix Somalia”
These Islamists are here to “fix” America. If by fix you mean neuter and then put down, America…
Refugees from corruption and violence. We’ll they brought the first part with them, I won’t be surprised when the second arrives.
Who could possibly have predicted that giving refuge to defeated Warlords and their followers would lead to problems? Obviously once they reach the magic soil that gives wealth and peace they would become just like the people with the values of hard work and respect for property rights that were already blessed by contact with the magic soil.
Fix Somalia? There’s no grift in that!
Trump is right on this one, we need to stop immigration from third world shitholes. Actually all immigration should be paused until the mess we currently have can be sorted out.
As someone that sponsored 2 LEGAL immigrants and plans to sponsor another one, I tell you that unless these people come here to wave the American flag and believe it is the greatest place on earth, they should be denied any kind of immigration status. People that come here with loyalties elsewhere are not here to do the American dream, but to change this place into the shitholes they came from.

Key Republican teases second GOP megabill to tackle health care
“The Affordable Care Act is hereby repealed.”
Why am I feeling what they will replace it with will cost just as much, if not more? The agenda isn’t to make healthcare affordable: it is to make government even more intrusive in everyone’s lives under the guise of healthcare…
The bigger the bill the worse it will be.
Lobbyists don’t lobby for less government.
I hate this idea that Obamacare somehow needs to be “replaced”. When you cut out a cancer, you don’t need to replace it with something.
^^^THIS!!!
Think of it as ineffective chemotherapy. Sure, you still die of cancer, but at least it reduced your quality of life in the lead up to the end.
The problem is the large number of ppl who believe that the only reason anyone gets healthcare is because of government meddling and regulation, and the smaller large number of ppl who want “single payer” (govt-run) healthcare.
And what nearly everyone that votes agrees on – someone else should pay for it, not me.
“Welfare Reset: New Work Rules for Food Aid Take Effect”
I am furious at these changes. Work only 20 hrs a month? Da fuq? Unless you are disabled you should NOT be fed by others through the force of government. That is one hell of a voting racket right there. Down with the welfare state!
That’s the time I spend going to and from work. 🙄
If I weren’t 50% remote, my commute would be 20 hours a month. As it stands, it’s half that.
I’m more than that now.
It’s 80 hours a month.
I still sometimes do so in a week, so I have no empathy for anyone doing less.
They are tackling this from the wrong end. Eligibility isn’t the way to go. Attack the benefit side. SNAP should not be available for any prepared foods – fresh and canned only. Possibly also MREs. That’s it. Let’s give that a try and see how it goes.
Weirdly, the disruption in SNAP coincided with a collapse of the “urban” sneaker market. For some reason, people stopped being willing to pay hundreds of dollars for “status” sneakers , according to one report I saw. Could just be coincidence, of course.
” SNAP should not be available for any prepared foods – fresh and canned only.”
Not allowing frozen food seems silly. Although they should remove soda, but beverage and corn syrup have huge lobbies.
Frozen vegetables, sure. Frozen prepared foods and meals? No.
What about frozen ravioli and pierogies? Soda and supplements are easily defined categories. Once you start getting into the weeds, this but not that, the increased administrative cost eats into any savings.
What about frozen ravioli and pierogies?
Nope. Make your own or buy them with your own money if you really want them. Not a dietary necessity for people getting handouts.
Nothing with more than one ingredient.
But, we should give out free cook books. It’s only fair!
“Nothing with more than one ingredient” rules out a lot of staples too.
I’d bet you could get a cheap, nutritionally acceptable product out of
soylent greenmechanically separated meat-filled raviolis/toaster pastries.Prime example – you have now mandated that they learn to bake. Bread is off the menu, as is pasta.
Making and baking bread is not hard nor is making pasta. They can learn.
As one who has done both – you must have a lot of free time.
My offiical position is just “cancel the whoel program as broken and unfixable” rather than try to find ways to make it punitive.
you must have a lot of free time
You mean like a person living off welfare does?
“Nope. Make your own or buy them with your own money if you really want them. Not a dietary necessity for people getting handouts.”
No idea how that will save the government money. It definitely won’t save you money, because supermarkets will have to raise prices to cover increased administrative costs. They already have very narrow margins.
If they are on food assistance, they have a ton of free time by definition, UCS.
This thread encapsulates exactly where SNAP is doomed to fail. Either you give them the money and let them make their choices, or you don’t; what you have to do is stop all of the vapid social engineering.
you must have a lot of free time
You mean like a person living off welfare does?
But, when are they supposed to get their hair and nails did? Huh?
For a bunch of libertarians you all sound like a bunch of schoolmarms.
DRINK!
Assumes facts not in evidence.
It definitely won’t save you money, because supermarkets will have to raise prices to cover increased administrative costs.
Bullshit, it’s easy to program prohibited bar codes for SNAP into the system.
“No idea how that will save the government money.”
By definition, all gov’t programs cost the gov’t money, Tater. And if we are going to have “assistance”, maybe we should look at what we are assisting, and tailor programs to help get people off of being assisted. Forcing them to have to do things to gain that assistance, such as working or cooking, seem like benefits to me.
This thread encapsulates exactly where SNAP is doomed to fail. Either you give them the money and let them make their choices, or you don’t; what you have to do is stop all of the vapid social engineering.
Short of getting rid of SNAP, it should be restricted. If I was King, SNAP would be replaced by free bags of rice and dried beans to picked up at handy distribution centers. You want more? Earn it yourself.
Friendly reminder that SNAP is not a welfare program run out of HHS, it is managed by the Dept of Agriculture. They have a different mindset about who should get welfare.
“For a bunch of libertarians you all sound like a bunch of schoolmarms”
Helping people become more self-sufficient is pretty libertarian to me. And if we are going to have programs like this, we should tailor them in that fashion. Learning to cook from scratch, forcing them to take educational classes, work, all are parts of taking care of oneself, thus becoming more liberty involved.
Sad thing Zwak is this thread has more thought and debate than what our government betters have put into it.
I was just trying to be funny. The Federal Government should not be distributing charity in any form or supporting prices in any sector. Among the many reasons it is a destructive practice is exactly this, it creates a justification for tyrannical control over the group receiving the largess.
“Bullshit, it’s easy to program prohibited bar codes for SNAP into the system.”
It’s not that complicated (although not all food markets use bar codes), but it takes labor, and someone has to pay for it.
“By definition, all gov’t programs cost the gov’t money, Tater. And if we are going to have “assistance”, maybe we should look at what we are assisting, and tailor programs to help get people off of being assisted. Forcing them to have to do things to gain that assistance, such as working or cooking, seem like benefits to me.”
That’s different than saving money. Restrict certain items, and they’ll spend it on something else. Not that I’m against not paying for soda (which is billions per year), but if they still receive the same amount of money, it doesn’t save the taxpayers anything.
Ban all bar codes, then add in a restricted list of approved foods.
Defund, break up, eliminate the Dept. of Agriculture. Salt the earth.
While I’m dreaming in delulu land, I’d like a pony.
NPR tells me that “both sides won” in the TN election, but the (D)s won more bigly.
It’s all PR work with the color revolution stooges.
So, a nearly 10 point loss is a win? Really?
Unless it broke the other way in which case it is a LANDSLIDE!!!!
Yes, because Trump won by more that 20 points, so really the (D) have engineered a double-digit point swing!
“We can run the craziest AWFL in a Republican stronghold and cut the margin of victory for the Republican in half!”
Of course, the incumbents won’t take this as a message that they need to get off their asses, pass some legislation, and give people something to vote for. They are locked in to waiting Trump out so they can get back to business as usual.
Yes, because Trump won by more that 20 points, so really the (D) have engineered a double-digit point swing!
Because a special election generates exactly the same enthusiasm and motivation as a highly-contested presidential election.

With only 200k voting. She was only able to win Nashville (Davidson county) and was blown out in all the other counties except Montgomery where he still was ahead by nearly 9pts.
This just shows we need to expand the House in my opinion.
An off-season election where D’s are frothing at the mouth, and R’s “only” won by, what, six points?
Piss on my back, tell me it is raining.
In all seriousness, D’s always come out for off-season elections and midterms. R’s don’t. Is it a sign of something when Trump won by 20-odd points? Sure, it is a sign that R’s need to take every election seriously, but, that isn’t any different than every time this happens, which is every time.

It’s really no more significant than the Dem wins last month. Dems won in Dem areas, and now a Republican won in a Republican area.
As expected.

I’ve seen first hand the resentment caused by the H1B racket.
Same. Especially when I see these people being treated like cattle and paid fractions of what they would have to pay a real employee. The company holding the H1Bs for these poor souls makes a lot of money, and the employer gets the liberty of dismissing any of these slave wage workers at their convenience.
It doesn’t help that companies now want more of this H1B shit because the new young college indoctrinated marxism loving employees are illiterate, stupid ass woke, and in general a costly lawsuit waiting to happen, with no avenue to dismiss these bums.
It’s exploitation as bad as the abuses during the industrial revolution.
Regarding the health insurance mega bill, Pfluger said:
“How do we do that in a good, conservative way?” he asked rhetorically. “Conservative fair market principles.”
I hate to curse but IT IS SO DAMN EASY ELIMINATE ALL THE F*CKING MANDATES AND INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS AND LET THE FREE MARKET SORT IT OUT.
The term “fair market” makes the hair rise on the back of my neck. More linguistic warfare from Our Masters.
Indeed. And so it should frighten us all. It’s just a different yoke on our necks.
But R.J., this is a custom orthotic yoke! You’ll hardly notice the boot at all.
ELIMINATE ALL THE F*CKING MANDATES AND INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS AND LET THE FREE MARKET SORT IT OUT.
Never happen. The mandates buy votes from various constituencies by forcing other people to help pay for their insurance coverage.
I am well aware that what Obama and others have done will never be undone. This new bill will be a wretched abomination and only make it worse.

I feel bad for Jaguar, they excelled in 2 automotive segments that don’t exist anymore – handsome sedans and coupes. Selling SUVs is sister company Land Rover’s job. I understand the need for a shake-up, but their approach was rather tone deaf. Sure, most Jag owners probably were gay, but they were closeted, not the out and proud bunch they were touting. Subaru still leaves at least a little plausible deniabilty.
The married ladies who drive Subarus are bi-curious?
I saw something that theorized that Jag-LR’s customers were mainly coastal elites, and they have been buying the heck out of Tesla’s and don’t care about racing heritage. So, J-LR wanted to move into that market, and needed to make a big splash to make the change noticed.
Didn’t work, but we are talking about it still.

“A Methodist pastor in New York revealed last week plans to transition into a woman and said the 51-year-old now identifies as asexual.
Rev. Phillip Phaneuf, of North Chili United Methodist Church in Rochester, made the announcement during a Nov. 23 Sunday service.
The personal update was delivered from the pulpit while wearing a rainbow stole.
“So I get to announce with joy that I’m transitioning,” Phaneuf said. “I’m affirming to all of you that I am transgender. The best way to put this is that I’m not becoming a woman, I’m giving up pretending to be a man. This is a process, and it may be shocking for some as to what this all means.””

Now THAT’s a miracle. I may just believe in god if that really happens. More likely, dude just want’s to play dress-up and grow some titties he can play with.
Diddling young boys as a male pastor has become a no-no. So he is pivoting.
The 51-year-old’s parents, however, do not support the decision. “They asked me to tell you all that they do not support me,” Phaneuf announced during the sermon. “They asked me to tell you this.”
I guess you’ll find out next weekend how approving the congregation actually is too.
It’s mainline Protestant, so both members will approve.

I was very impressed at the time.
Found out later it was frozen and all she did was boil the bag, put the eel on rice, add a little sauce, and top with sesame seeds.
Still one of my favorites.
I’ve never seen freshwater eel on the retail market.

I never got the Frida worship. She wasn’t that good, her work wasn’t interesting, and there are tons of other great women artists out there to admire.
She was fighting the male gaze before it was cool.
Anyway, her art is really dumb and she seems to have been self absorbed, since it’s all just self portraits.
Really weird artist for everyone to glom onto, but I’m convinced the art world is just a bunch of aholes sniffing themselves.
“She was fighting the male gaze before it was cool.”
That is a huge chunk of it, actually. Rejecting standards of beauty, neo-primitivism, the right period, the right circle of artists, all of those and more factor into the desirableness and value of an artist like her.
You have to keep in mind, high art is not about beauty, nor prettiness.
Based.
@ContrarianP, thanks for your comment yesterday. I really do appreciate it, and that’s where my instincts are*, HOWEVER, my BP was 180/120 at that visit and though it was higher than normal, it wasn’t MUCH higher. I’ve been resisting my PCP, who has said this thing about the stroke for years, but it was my ob/gyn who said it ALSO, and he knows nothing about my PCP.
I honestly don’t know what to do. It was the 180/120 that kinda got to me because my home BPs aren’t any lower, so it’s kind of a consistent thing. I also have a family history of heart disease. My dad’s sister had her first bypass at 48, second at 50something, and I’m 57. Cunty Aunt Susie (other side of the family) had a stroke some years ago, which she recovered from beautifully (unfortunately). I told my brother about it and he said he finally gave in and got them, and he said it made him feel better, so… And I’m in horrible shape, which I’m intending to fix.
*My history with doctors isn’t the best.
Blood pressure that high can not only contribute to strokes, the pressure can also effect heart health and kidney function. As someone with hypertension that is controlled with meds I’ve been on for nearly 2 decades with little side effect, I would encourage you to seriously consider taking the medication.
Also, getting in shape definitely helps. My doc was able to reduce my meds some time ago after I lost weight and got back into working out on a regular basis.
Not to be harsh, but you should stop intending to get in better shape, and get started on getting in better shape.
Carve out a set time every day (for me it’s after breakfast) to do something, even just a little bit if you are otherwise pressed for time. Honestly, walking is one of the best exercises for getting the blood pumping and burning some calories.
But you already knew all this, I’m sure.
Combining exercise with something I do sitting down worked for me. I watch a ton of sports, so why not do it on a stair climber for ten minutes and then do some light lifting instead of watching the entire game in a chair?
“my BP was 180/120”
Yikes! Any reason you don’t want to take meds?
I’m surprised you weren’t sent right to the ER, although we would have done nothing for you.
My point wasn’t that you don’t need medication for blood pressure control, it was that using fear to compel patients to do what we want isn’t the way we should practice. There is indeed a higher risk of stroke with uncontrolled blood pressure, but it’s absolutely not a certainty. It’s just the one most people are scared to death of, which is why it was used as an emotional lever.
Indeed, I’ve talked with hundreds of patients in my emergency department who were there because some blood pressure cuff read a number they thought was high and they freaked out. Many came in with whole pages full of blood pressure numbers that were in an increasingly desperate scrawl as panic set in. The fact that the panic was likely driving a lot of the blood pressure issue never entered their minds. The blood pressure number discussion is probably the one that takes me the longest because I have to undo years of programming that there is some magic number that will certainly induce a stroke and that the number must be lowered immediately when in fact the evidence clearly demonstrates otherwise.
If your blood pressure is reading high and you are having a severe headache or crushing chest pain, then come to the emergency department. If you feel fine, make an appointment with your doctor to discuss whether you need to be on medication.
With that pressure, I’d talk with you about starting medication too, but you need to be informed of the benefits of it, how much it cuts your risk, and what the side effects are likely to be. The talk should happen in a calm environment, not one where you are being threatened or scared.
Careful there, you are at risk of finding yourself declared a heretic.
I most certainly am, and proudly.
I wasn’t sent to the ER because
a) I had a full cardiac workup in March, sono and everything, stayed overnight. All clear.
b) My lab work is clean.
c) I’m on a LOT of stimulants AND I’ve been under A LOT of stress this year (well, actually, the past 4 years).
Neither of them are quite sure it’s not external causes.
Also, I almost never get headaches. Any chest pain I get are twinges and always turn out to be panic attacks, so…
The wife went to the dentist, who are now BP cuffing all patients, and spiked at 200 resting. So, off to the ER, where she let them know that she had been feeling light headed, along with a bubbly (?) sensation at times, so they got her on BP meds real quick, and as she had been packing on weight since her parents died, worked on getting her set with one of the new weight loss medications.
So far, it has worked. She has lost 60+ pounds, feels much better across the board, and BP is coming down.
Well ideally you’d like to have several weeks of blood pressure measurements so you’d see what the patterns are. If there are addressable external issues, like stress/anxiety, sleeplessness, sleep apnea, diet, exercise, and so forth, you’d like to put a plan in place to address those as well. You also want to make sure your blood pressure at home is not a lot lower. White coat hypertension is definitely a thing.
I was speaking more broadly in terms of the headaches and chest pain. Severe hypertension plus symptoms is a potential problem. Severe hypertension with no symptoms is something that should be addressed gradually and does not require emergency care. This does not register with most primary care physicians (and especially dentists).
Mine used to be that high, even while I was exercising regularly and watching my diet. I am in no way overweight. My resting hear rate was also stuck over 100. I think it’s a matter of genetics and stress.
My old doctor was, well, old, and we tried several combinations of meds over about 6 weeks. It was a process of taking meds for 3 days, phoning in my BP’s, and him calling in new meds to my pharmacy. We finally settled on a combination of Clonidine, Amlodipine, and Triamterene. Those have all been around for a long time and are considered safe. I’ve been on the same combo for probably 5-6 years without any changes. I’m not noticing any side effects.
In my case, meds make a lot of sense. I don’t see lifestyle changes making that much of a difference. Maybe if I moved to Tibet and became a monk, but that’s off the table right now.

Wolf claimed he was the victim of a conspiracy, insisting the police and jury had been “hypnotized” into convicting him…

Alright let’s get to a serious subject, the College Football Payoffs!
So Miami isn’t even going to lose the ACC Championship game but is right now the last team into the playoffs. Indiana-Ohio State will change nothing about both going and presumably both getting a first round bye. Is Alabama still in if they lose to Georgia – probably. The NCAA has managed to make it even more stupid and ridiculous then the old selection committee.
Wasn’t that the plan?
To make the conferences irrelevant? I guess.
At this point, the players aren’t students, the schools don’t teach, and the conferences have no geographic, cultural, or historical unity, so making the conference records irrelevant is kind of in keeping with the whole enterprise.
Saving the planet! Nobody ever suggested this could happen from renewables. The sun always shines and the wind always blows!
Parts of the green transition have proved unexpectedly costly. When Scotland’s biggest offshore wind farm opened in 2023, it was feted as a symbol of Britain’s push into a new era of cheap low-emissions energy. But today, British taxpayers spend tens of millions of pounds a year for the Seagreen wind farm to not produce electricity.
Why? If the wind farm was left constantly on, it would send big pulses of energy from northern Scotland to southern England that would fry the U.K.’s aging grid.
Last year, the farm’s 114 turbines in the North Sea were disconnected more than 70% of the time; a gas plant in southern England fired up instead to meet local electricity demand. The tab British consumers paid to “balance” the grid totaled £2.7 billion last year—a cost expected to rise to £8 billion by 2030. Borrowing costs have also risen, making capital-intensive offshore wind far more expensive.

I hear that Russia would like to sell NG however…
If only there was a pipeline…
Fourscore from the top rope.
“Unexpected” by everyone except for, you know, anyone who told the honest truth about this crap being MORE expensive and LESS reliable and so forth.
What renewable energy is a scam? Next, you will tell me that corn and ethanol is a scam too.
This makes me think that maybe ethanol is doing some good (I really don’t believe this) because the Greenies used to talk up natural gas until fracking made it possible to efficiently use it. Then they turned against it.
Another positive is that this might be a signal that we won’t be sent to extermination camps. They will need us out there in the fields growing corn “correctly”. Although, I didn’t see any mention of how much water corn sucks out of the ground.
“warming the planet” is a sure sign you’re being fed a pile of lies.
Assume the opposite of whatever point they’re trying to make.
Ethanol has other uses though. Some folks add flavoring and color and make it into a consumable. At least that’s what I’ve heard. Some sort of folk lore from earlier times, practiced in rural areas.
3000 CDL providers removed? How many people in this country drive fucking trucks?
Give or take three million
“Officials are calling the state’s second invasive crab ‘concerning,’ especially given its ability to climb walls as high as 13 feet, according to the US Bureau of Reclamation.
In one alarming incident, several long-legged mitten crabs escaped from a concrete holding tank with walls a staggering 18 feet high….
‘Photographs can be submitted through the hotline and people are encouraged to do so as crab identification can be difficult and native crabs have been misidentified as invasive,’ the department warned….
Chinese mitten crabs have four spines along each side of their top shell, making them easily distinguishable from any native US crab.”

Journalism.
Damn. Those bastards could climb over a girl giraffe.
And that is like a seven wedding ring value!
Once they’re in they’re in. Now how do they taste?
Exactly. New tasty food source? Giant legs = more awesome crab legs?
They’re Chinese, you’ll just be hungry for more in 30 minutes.
Great. Move to Oregon, get crabs.
But, seriously, do they not remember that species expand their habitat?
You mean the crabs have learned to not pull down the ones climbing out? Can people learn that next?
Meanwhile, Adrian Mardell, the Jaguar Land Rover chief who directed the rebrand and ad campaign, recently retired after three years as CEO and 35 years with the company, per Breitbart News.
This is the weird part. It’s not like he was some total outsider whose prior area of expertise was children’s cereal or luxury snakeskin belts.
Think about the last 35 years of Jaguar. Has there been anything that stands out?

That came before that guy took over, it was developed in the 1970s. He just presided over the last 6 years of it.

Fake news? Neither the dancer, victim, or nightclub, are named.
A good spanking out to straighten her right out.
I can’t fix her. But I might really enjoy breaking her more.
Unlike the cop story from yesterday, she is hot enough to be that crazy.
She’s too hot to be a stripper.
You’ve got first dibs.
Those eyes say “You gonna pay, and pay hard, so get ready to lose a kidney”…
Her daddy didn’t abuse her enough.
Each FLM 136, also known as Lucas, costs $35,000, according to Capt. Tim Hawkins, a spokesman for Central Command. The MQ-9 Reaper drones cost an estimated $16 million, according to a spokesman for General Atomics, its manufacturer.
We can’t have this! General Atomics’ employees have to eat!

I thought the General Atomics military robot was Mr Gutsy.
Stealin’ Iranian IP!!! And I don’t think GA wants their drones to be suicidal.
Think about the last 35 years of Jaguar. Has there been anything that stands out?
Ten or twelve years ago they were capable of this
I believe that was at the behest of Ford (owner at the time). Not 100% sure.
All my fully vaxxed and boosted coworkers are bitching about how theyre bouncing from covid to flu to cold back to flu. Of course, they blame lack of covid vax uptake.
The left really is broken, their brains are irreparably damaged.
On X, I still see them bragging about wearing masks because they are “smart”.
Never occurs to them that all the other people aren’t sick or dying as they predicted.
“Have you ever considered that you’re just sickly?”
I’ve been half tempted to bring up that I haven’t been seriously sick since I got Covid in 2021. A cold here or there, but that’s it.
All the shots in the world do nothing in comparison to keeping the kids out of germ factory public schools and taking some quality vitamins and supplements.
Say things like that and they’ll complain that you’re being mean.
Their vitriol toward the unjabbed and the people who opposed lockdowns, however, is totally nice.
“The headlines, coupled with what we journalists call a “hero image” of our frequently smirking president, dole out a little hit of righteous anger. It feels good to let the outrage build as you run through a litany of transgressions against the Constitution and good taste. They’re carrying out extrajudicial killings in the Caribbean. They’re sharing outright white nationalist memes from official government accounts. They’re slashing the federal government to the bone with the go-ahead of the Supreme Court. But that rush will inevitably fade, a revelation coming on like dope sickness: There’s almost nothing you can do about it.”

slashing the federal government to the bone??
If only they were slashing government to the bone. That would be terrific.
Slashing to a ligament would be an improvement. A superficial paper cut would be a surprise.
I thought it was already slashed to the bone? That’s what Obama told us circa 2010.
Never mind, it’s Salon-town. An alternate universe of whimsy and catastrophic mental illness.
The latter is all that matters.
Like anyone at Salon gives 2 cents about the constitution or even good taste.
outright white nationalist memes from official government accounts?
Link goes here: https://www.salon.com/2025/09/13/why-everyones-suddenly-talking-about-groypers/
No mention of government accounts posting memes.
“white nationalist” just means “stuff we don’t like”, like taking the constitution at its word, genuine freedom of speech and thought, not being racist, etc. etc.
Sombrero memes.

That girl looks like she’d stab you in the neck for a half-eaten peanut butter sandwich.
I do agree she falls on the hot side of the matrix, though.

Sure why not. Parents always watch every show they park their children in front of, right?
We’re not even at war with them
Newsmax senior judicial analyst former Judge Andrew Napolitano said Tuesday that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth should face trial over war crime allegations, after reports surfaced he directed the military to “kill everybody” during a strike on an alleged drug boat in the Caribbean.
“It gives me no pleasure to say what I’m about to say, because I worked with Pete Hegseth for seven or eight years at Fox News,” Napolitano said during an appearance on the Newsmax’s “National Report” show. “This is an act of a war crime — ordering survivors who the law requires be rescued instead to be murdered, there’s absolutely no legal basis for it.”
“Everybody along the line who did it, from the secretary of Defense to the admiral to the people who actually pulled the trigger should be prosecuted for a war crime, for killing these two people,” he added.
Calling it a war crime when it’s just random thrill-killing seems unnecessary.
Needs more question marks.
If we’re going to be doing this shit, is there any way we can do it with a few hundred bucks worth of 50 cal rather than zillion-dollar guided missiles?
They’re deliberately calling this stuff “illegal orders” as battle space prep for going after lots of administration members come January 2029.
Also a “war crime” does not apply when it’s basically pirate ships. The flapdoodle about “the law requires rescuing survivors” also does not apply here.
Pirates were rescued/captured, so they could be hung!
I think it’s Mojeaux who writes about hung pirates.
Obama: Pirates created or saved.
Of course, that story was immediately shown to be fake, lies, a hoax.
They needed to come up with an illegal orders story.
“He forced the military’s top brass to sit still for a lecture about the “warrior ethos,” convened for no other apparent reason than Hegseth’s adolescent desire to pretend that he’s Mel Gibson in “Braveheart.” He goes on and on about his imaginary “male standard” or “male-level” fitness ideals, mostly because women don’t fit his image of what “warfighters” look like, which seems entirely drawn from the G.I. Joe figurines he played with as a child. He was pushed out of the Army, quitting of his own accord because of too much perceived wokeness. As defense secretary, he’s been systematically trying to purge all women who have performed their military duties beyond his capablities. Heaven forbid he endure reminders that many female members of the species are stronger and more capable than he could ever imagine being.”

That settles it.
Not former infantry officer with combat medals and degrees from Princeton, nope, just a Fox News host.
Amanda Marcotte is still retarded.
Now do Private Vindman. Or the McCains.
Bullshit.
We had a WM (Woman Marine) in our squadron when I was in Okinawa who was a very good athlete. She was on several All Okinawa lists for running marathons, 5K’s etc. She was the toughest WM I ever served with.
Still, she couldn’t hack it when we went on humps with full packs. (Don’t ask why us air wingers were doing that. We couldn’t figure it out either).
I bet if someone dug up Hegseth’s PFT scores and compared them to the all the women in the service, he’d be better than 99% of them.

Speaking of Band Names: How about Crip Guts? The Glibs with musical talent could go on tour with TOK being the frontman.
Queer Stoma Pride would be the live album.
“I argue that my crip guts provide an embodied, if stigmatised, form of knowledge that complicates academic/lived experience and body/mind divisions, alongside necessitating more holistic responses to crip guts beyond individualising biomedical models. I examine the violence of discourses of normality around bodily difference and the complex temporalities of the gut through a focus three key moments in my crip gut experience – late diagnosis and (not) being believed; stoma representation and stigmatised imagined futures; and, the gut remembering colonial pasts – before arguing for queer stoma pride as a destigmatised collective refusal of normative gut discourse and valuation of crip gut knowing.”

Who could disagree with that?
Compare this to the conservative student from yesterday who got a 0 on his essay for being too personal in the wrong way.
Me
Well I would normally say that she’s full of shit, but I think that the stoma let it all leak out.
Agile Cyborg was more coherent.
“During the latter EMDR sessions I was processing some memories around my gut condition and became overwhelmed with sadness and grief. It felt ridiculous explaining to the (English) therapist what had come up because the only way I could describe it was famine grief. The Irish Famine of the 1800s is of course before my time, but in that therapy session I felt overwhelmed with a grief that felt larger than my own. I made sense of this feeling through the framework of intergenerational trauma and described it as feeling the pain of the famine lingering in my guts….What does it mean to take seriously the long tendrils of physical and emotional pain that echo across generations as a result of colonialism and how might that be integrated into a discussion of crip guts? When and where do we metabolise these experiences individually and collectively?”
SCIENCE!!!!!

Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting unfolded at a tough psychological moment for the president. A new Gallup poll published this week found his national popularity sinking 5 points to just 36 percent, an all-time low. A majority of voters disapprove of how he is handling immigration, the economy, foreign policy and skyrocketing consumer prices. Republican insiders are worried Trump is so “bubble-wrapped” by yes-men that he has completely lost touch with reality.
As Trump spends his second term eating dinner in bed and treating the presidency as a largely ceremonial job, feckless MAGA bros like Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, FBI Director Kash Patel and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are stepping in to fill the gaps — with predictably disastrous results. If Trump’s directionless Cabinet meeting was meant to clear the air about who is really running the country, the public got its answer loud and clear: absolutely no one.
Bring back Biden. His flunkies did things I liked.
I would not say the economy is great but “skyrocketing consumer prices”? Really?
Wait. They’re going with “Who’s running the country?”? After what everyone saw for four years and not a word about it from the press?
RELEASE THE MRI!
The left saw how mental decline worked against them with Biden. So they’re going to that audible in the playbook to give it a shot.
LOL the author of this screed would seem to have some familiarity with that condition.
Interesting strategy Cotton, let’s see how it plays out.
I’d like to go back now and contest the last ticket I got for running a red light. “Your honor, there is no evidence that my running a red light late at night, at an empty intersection compromised public safety in any way. So I don’t think you have any right to fine me.”

Government creates the CDL in 1992.
Government mandates training.
Obama’s transportation secretary makes it known that his goal is to eliminate as many CDLs as he can.
Government mandates all CDL training go through an approved school in Feb 2022, eliminating all the farm kids, guys with training licenses ect. Funnels tons of cash to scammers. Limits the supply of CDLs.
Now they see their activities are problematic. So instead of fixing the problems they created by eliminating the CDL they make it harder to get.
End the CDL.
It never should have been a thing.
Deport all the illegals.
The end.
In world of “what ifs”…
In “Injustice,” Leonnig and Davis make a convincing case that, had Garland only done his job, Trump would not be serving a second term as president. But to be fair, you can’t blame Garland alone. Don’t forget former Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).
In February 2021, seven Republicans joined Democrats in voting to convict Trump for his role in the Jan. 6 assault on the Capitol. McConnell was not one of them. As Republican Senate leader, had he voted “guilty” and convinced nine other Republicans to join him, Trump would have been impeached and convicted. He could have then been prosecuted without any question of immunity and disqualified from running for office again. But, like Garland, McConnell chickened out.
How did we get into this mess? Blame Merrick Garland and Mitch McConnell.
Democracy has failed.
Is being a convict disqualifying for the Oval?
Following in the grand tradition of David French?
In the old days, the native kids would have bullied the Somali kids mercilessly about the way they dressed. Every Somali girl would have ditched their hijab the second she got out of sight of momma.
Now we don’t let kids bully anyone. So the young girls are still walking around looking like a laundry pile. The boys wear those desert dresses during Ramadan.
Unleash the power of 8th graders! Those subhumans will forcibly assimilate the Somalis if we just let them.
Bullying serves the greater good.
We can’t be associated with that kind of talk.
Okay, griefer.
While it is nice that the Important Coastal Elites have finally tipped to the Somali Scourge, it does get a bit frustrating when they still get so much shit wrong. Especially since it wouldn’t be hard to completely wreck King Walz during one of his press appearances.
1) Somalis aren’t sending money to terrorists. They are sending money to relatives in Somalia, the terrorists just skim off the top of those transfers. Really no different than any govt tax.
2) Why won’t any journalo ask King Walz:
a) How many people exactly did his administration put in jail for fraud (0)
b) You claim that Trump cut funding for fraud detection so this is all his fault. Exactly how did Trump cut fraud funding when Biden was in charge during most of the Feeding Our Children fiasco?
3) Somalis have been trouble makers since they arrived. Police had to deal with them in the 90’s for taking kaat and fighting. They also went on a mini-crime wave of robbery for a while when it was ruled that they couldn’t be deported because there was no functioning govt in Somalia to deport them too.
4) Still no investigation into Ilhan Omar’s marriages?
5) More talk about Brother Keith and his meetings with Somali scamsters. Especially since those meetings were with people who were suing Brother Keith’s clients (aka the Minnesoda govt).
