I will be traveling with my family later this week on account of a national baseball tournament. Is my son’s team really good enough to play in a national tournament?
No. We paid to get in. Its cool though, I imagine other teams simply payed to get in a well so this trip will break…somebody, even if its just my bank account.

What’s going on in Mexico? Lets see…World Cup. World Cup. World Cup. World Cup.

Cubans forced to remain in Mexico. Its terrible really would they prefer the cages Brandon built?
My theory is they know exactly where the tunnel ends, they just don’t want anyone to know it in the Gaslamp District.
Is he actually pro-Trump or is he just not sufficiently communist for them to know the difference? Its a fair question for the Crown News.
They need to RETVRN.
I’m old enough to remember the freakout was people from third world countries weren’t vaccinated and bringing unheard of diseases to the US where they were largely eradicated.
Here’s a tune, I need to get out of here.

whaddup doh’
Órale!
They also found an electronic sliding mechanism within the tunnel that allowed movement in both directions between Mexico and the United States, the FGR said.
Electric sliding, you say? Boogie woogie woogie!
Now I’m thinking of the Boogie Woogie Man, Jimmy Valiant.
Thanks a lot.
But you know its there.
CNN – all the left-wing propaganda that’s fit to unquestioningly repeat to its idiot readership.
The pic at the top – “A man cries…” – is a nice touch.
““The absence of deportation agreements with Cuba meant that these people could not be deported to their country of origin.”
Oh, OK then.
Ship to Gitmo, escort them to the front gate, tell them they have 2 minutes to clear out before we start shooting.
Do you have a news letter kind sir?
That’s new woke speak.
Those writers got smartified in college.
Adapting? Coping?
College, in a Costco?
Interestingly I recently saw a chart about measles incidence, and of the three North American countries – Canada had the highest, then Mexico, lastly the U.S., where we fret about it most.
Henry Nowak protests in the UK
Police officers have been pelted with missiles during a protest near the Southampton home of Henry Nowak’s killer.
A crowd of several hundred initially took part in a demonstration outside Southampton Central Police Station before gathering close to the family home of Vickrum Digwa in St Denys.
The 23-year-old was jailed for life on Monday after being convicted of murdering Nowak, 18, as he walked back to his student accommodation in Southampton in December 2025.
Protesters marched across the city from the police station to the St Denys area, close to where Henry was murdered in December. Chairs, cans and flares were thrown at officers in riot gear, forcing them to retreat.
Video of the protest
“I can’t breath, mate.”
White guy said that…not the same. Its all good. Officers subdued the real culprit
Did they get home safely?
[golf clap]
I get it, but they should be targeting the politicians who give the cops their orders. You know goddamn well the cops there are ordered to take whatever actions they think are necessary to “keep the peace” i.e. not make leftist shitheads riot.
If the cops don’t push back against the orders, especially ones this egregious, they’re part of the problem.
Eh…if you are just a goon you still fall when the boss falls. They know they are upholding tyranny and not the law.
When has this ever happened in the history of anything?
I don’t wanna excuse them, but I am sick and tired of the people issuing the orders getting off scot free with this shit.
Governments should have fallen after the rape scandals there. Instead, a few token prosecutions and otherwise, crickets.
WW2, but selectively.
rhywun:
It’s happened from time to time, generally people get fired and worse people take their place. I’m not excusing the ones giving the orders either, I’m surprised there aren’t some decorating lamp posts. Hell, I find out that someone covered up something like that about my niece/nephews, there’s a pretty good chance I’m willing to throw myself away to take them out.
The 23-year-old was jailed for life on Monday
That’s surprising.
Probably x years to life. Another site reports that x = 21.
Huh.
Good behavior out in 8
He still gets to keep the blade, right?
They will modify it into a poop knife.
Life with a minimum of 21 years. Meaning he can apply for parole after 21 years. If released on parole, he’s “on license” for the rest of his life. “On license” looks like the UK equivalent of being on probation in the US.
Will Lewis Hamilton take a knee this weekend?
Henry Nowak really should be the reverse George Flloyd, (finally!) starting a riot regime against the bullshit UK govt.
It won’t be, and kinda like we talked about before, the British+ are far too broken. It’s just ‘acceptable’ to them. Predictable, unchangeable, and getting worse. The fearful arming themselves, like that young girl, are mocked and vilified. Tragic. Sigh.

Hey, my son’s a mathemat… Okay, you are correct.
Electricity comes from the wall
The Trump administration has moved to restrict one of the federal government’s largest consumer energy programs, eliminating rebates designed to help Americans replace gas‑powered appliances with electric alternatives.
The change, part of a broader rollback of clean energy policies during the president’s second term, affects a flagship initiative known as the Home Energy Rebates Program. Created under the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, the program allocated billions of dollars to help Americans install energy-efficient equipment such as heat pumps, electric stoves and insulation.
Under the revised rules, Americans are no longer eligible for rebates when replacing gas appliances with electric ones, a practice known as “fuel switching.” Instead, rebates are now limited to upgrading appliances that are already electric to more efficient electric models.
——-
However, environmental advocates warn that the shift could slow the transition to cleaner energy, limit consumer choice and disproportionately affect low- and middle-income households that were expected to benefit most from the rebates.
Srinidhi Sampath Kumar, the director of the Sierra Club’s Clean Heat campaign, said in a statement: “The Trump administration couldn’t eliminate the popular Home Energy Rebates program outright, so instead they’re changing the rules mid-game in order to hand a win to the oil and gas industry. These changes will trap families into higher energy bills and force them to live with polluting equipment.”
Trump wants you dead.
End all Fed rebates.
And bring back incandescent bulbs.
Why do you hate clean things?
Well, if you think electricity is cleaner than gas…
bring back incandescent bulbs.
Light and heat from a single source. Genius.

Good gravy. I thought I stopped collecting Human Projects decades ago.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders announced today that he will introduce legislation to give the American public a direct ownership stake in the country’s largest artificial intelligence companies.
Writing in the New York Times, Sanders laid out the case for the American AI Sovereign Wealth Fund Act — a bill that would create a federally managed fund created not with cash, but with stock. Specifically, Sanders proposes a one-time transfer of 50 percent of equity from companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, and xAI to the government. The idea: since AI is built on the accumulated knowledge, creativity, conversations, and labor of the American people — typically without permission or payment — the American people deserve a cut of the profits.
——-
The fund would acquire half the stock of the largest AI companies in the country through a mandated equity transfer — Sanders is explicit that this is not a profits tax. The government would then hold voting shares and receive equal board representation at each company, giving it formal power to block decisions deemed harmful to the public.
Revenue generated by the fund would flow directly to Americans as cash payments, with Sanders indicating that, as the fund grows, proceeds would eventually support broader public goods, including healthcare, education, and housing. He points to Norway’s sovereign wealth fund and Alaska’s Permanent Fund Dividend as working models of the concept.
Who wouldn’t want that?
You didn’t build that!
Since Bernie Sander’s wealth is built on the accumulated knowledge, creativity, conversations, and labor of the Vermont people — typically without permission or payment — the Vermont people deserve a cut of his 3 houses.
See this is fun!
I like your thinking!
One more reason I am in favor of private armies.
No, they should have a bunch of squatters take over his houses and dare him to evict them.
I’d be willing to pitch in for someone to start squatting on the property of anyone who says “No one is illegal on stolen land.”
“proceeds would eventually support broader public goods, including healthcare, education, and housing.”
Strange these are the areas that are increasing faster than inflation. They also happen to be the industries most impacted by government interference.

Not that it matters to Sander. When the podcaster Chris Williamson showed the chart to Sanders, the Senator simply hand waved it away.
And they pay way better than comparable jobs in the private sector. Shocking, I know.
Bernie and Donald, sitting in a tree
Bernie is late to the party but they are a twosome for collectivism.
You’ll be able to pay your taxes from the money that’s gonna roll in.
I have got to get that poor front desk girl out of this town.
Our very own Human Trafficker.
SOMEBODY’s gotta do it.
Goat Scrotum is looking for a virile lass.
She’s already baking a bun, and she is not exactly Groat Scotum’s intellectual equal. Also, she’s a train wreck. I wouldn’t wish her on my friends. The idea is to get her un-train-wrecked.
So she’s due October 30. She asked me to come down there and be with her during the birth because she sees me as her mom at this point.
Now, she’s either pulling my leg (entirely possible) or she’s not (also entirely possible), or SHE is the problem (which is entirely possible) or everybody around her is shitty (ALSO entirely possible), but, and this is my shame, trying to straighten train wrecks out is pure catnip to me.
… like, say, Front Desk Girl?
If she’s not spinning a yarn, she does not have the wherewithal to do it herself.
*hand up* (My first thought was also her escaping with me…)
I’m with GT. And kinda my answer to Bro’s dilemma below: I stay away from other people’s business. (Probably more than I should. I’m well aware I’ve missed *many* pretty big opportunities by not being more inquisitive. (Not just w girls.)
I’m aware I’m not great with my own affairs, let alone adding another person’s to manage. Yeeesh. Me no have that part in brain. (I’m pretty good when in a relationship, but that’s only one person.)
(See also: I’m not a mother. Many hormonal connections my brain don’t make.)
Tell the local ward about her situation and let them handle it.
Continue stopping doing that.
Pretty sure the bishop in that area is overwhelmed with people just like her.
Sanders proposes a one-time transfer of 50 percent of equity from companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, and xAI to the government.
Affirmative Action Jackson approves.
“Taking? What’s a taking?”
Unbelievable that an elected US lawmaker would be so horrifically at odds with the basic tenants of the constitution.
A lot of aren’t shy about their hatred for the country and many of its inhabitants, either. What a time we live in.
The riots at whatever Donald is planning for America 250 are gonna be lit.
The distraction has presumably served its purpose
“We are not moving forward with the fund, period,” Blanche told Rep. Grace Meng, D-N.Y., the ranking member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science.
Blanche repeatedly told Meng that the DOJ would not operate the fund, regardless of the outcome of several lawsuits that were filed challenging its legality.
The fund was designed to compensate people who were purportedly the victims of prosecutorial overreach by the DOJ under the Biden administration.
“Hey, when did that elephant get on the stage?”
The Lego theft story has now blown up on the internet. The police and courts are certainly looking like they are in the bag for the alleged thief. They have issued takedown orders against his video channel in ex-parte hearings. They have issued no-bail warrants for misdemeanor crimes – like “residential picketing” because they put up a little sign across the street in a public easement to draw out the alleged thief so they could serve court papers. (Police have been blocking service)
Well, now one of my favorite YouTube channels, The Civil Rights Lawyer has gotten involved
https://youtu.be/Hs3bElrHKUE
He interviews the kid and we learn that because this went viral after the police actions, they have raised a quarter million bucks. He may need all of it to defend the (seemingly bogus) criminal charges. Which he has to do if he has any hope of winning later civil rights lawsuits.
This one is wild. Bread and circuses for the masses.
Question for the assembled:
I kicked Comcast/xfinity to the curb a decade ago. Maybe more. Their data cap practices were shady, and their customer service terrible.
So this past weekend i took one of their calls for the first time. No clue why.
They talked a good game. They had an offer that was less than I pay for Sling for internet plus “300+ channels, including the main local channels (depending on your area)”
So I listened. I drilled down on a few points. Primarily, which local stations, exactly? There was a language barrier. They had a bunch of trouble looking things up during the entire conversation, so vague assurances on this were not entirely out of character. But still, I pushed hard and they repeatedly assured me that the channels were included – like ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS and FOX. The minor channels require a different package.
Fine.
I order.
The kit arrives.
Their tech is great. Setup is easy. The router is loaded with features. The 4k tv dongle they sent works well and has a great picture. The menus are good.
But.
Yeah. They lied.
The package does not include any local channels from anywhere.
Plus, my bill is $20 more than they described, and basic internet is $10 more than promised and loudly promoted on the websites.
So I try to contact support via the app.
Nice app. Servers are painfully slow. But the app is pretty nice, if too dependant on kicking out to web browsers.
I end up in an AI chat.
It does not go well.
After a very, very long time repeatedly explaining myself to the various real and fake people who show up, they agree to preserve the recording of the sales call and to have a senior escalation team contact me within 24 hours.
36 hours later… I called. The same IVR system that powers the chat menu in front of the AI is blocking my phone call from reaching a human.
So I text.
After about 9 rounds of this, the computer seems to have decided that I am serious and lets me talk to a person from customer retention.
I start the conversation with “i know none of this is your personal fault, but you are at the end of a very long and very frustrating road where I have been repeatedly lied to and many promises to follow through have been broken. I do not believe you are authorized to do anything that can resolve my issues. Please, please, let us avoid another round of this nonsense and just skip ahead to where you hand me to a supervisor.”
Yeah. No.
She kept going back to her script. She cant see any of the 15+ times I have detailed the issues (in writing). So she wants me to do it again. Because she is my girl. She gonna get it done.
Yeah… no. She repeatedly lied and gaslit me. When I said I was done letting her waste my time, please give me a supervisor now in response to every prompt she read, she hung up on me.
So I call back. Instant escalation. But the agent that I somehow was able to get to without spending 10 or 15 minutes in menus cant see any of this history. Yeah… right.
But she is cool. I explain my frustration and she says she will get her supervisor. Should be 2-3 minutes.
5 minutes later she comes back to say the supervisor is in the middle of another matter, but it shouldn’t be long. So I chatted her up about her kids. Nice lady.
She offered to run down to the boss’s office. 5 minutes later, she says the boss will have to call me back in about 15 minutes.
She assured me she would follow up. (Not the first person to assure me of that. Or the second. Or the third)
That was just shy of 6 hours ago.
Of the 4 promised phone calls, they have only attempted 1. Of the half dozen “I am escallating this for you right now” promises I was given, zero tickets have entered the system. Of the couple dozen “real people” chat agents i talked to, 3 definitely claimed to be real and abjectly failed simple turing tests. (What did you have for breakfast?)
So, day 3 with Xfinity for internet is coming to a close. Still no resolution. Not even a conversation, actually.
Did you use a credit card for payment? Do you really want to kick them to the curb? Try to cancel via web interface, if there’s any issues, document them. If you can’t successfully cancel it, contact the credit card company and explain to them that you want to charge it back and cancel the service.
Did you get ticket numbers/contact IDs for any of your attempts to get through to someone? If not, always ask for a ticket/reference/contact ID that you can reference back to on the later contacts. If they say they can’t give you one, immediately ask for a supervisor, do nothing more with that agent. They’re lying.
Seven time (7!!!) I was told that they were entering it into the system and they would be back shortly. Seven times we got disconnected. (The chat automatically resets after ONE minute idle. This tosses you all the way back to the beginning. Which is called an AI agent, but is actually an IVR menu that only handles the same responses as pushing 1 through 5 on a phone.
I will admit, a bit of this exercise became simply finding out just how bad their customer service could possibly be.
The tech is actually really good. They actually do have AI agents that can handle a lot of things.
However
It is 100% clear that the system is designed to make paying bills and shutting up and just paying what they ask very easy. Even ordering new services is very easy.
Anything else? Nigh impossible. They clearly have a “how pissed is this guy?” Metric built into the routing tree and do not let you through until you have called enough times in a short enough time period for them to know that you are at the end of your rope and are serious.
I used to build these systems, so watching something so beautiful being bent toward the exact opposite of what the product was intended for is like watching an 11 car pile up. It is really hard to look away.
Yeah, I don’t use those “chats” for exactly that reason. Complete waste of time. For awhile there, they use to have humans to talk to but not anymore.
So… here is why I posted all that crap – aside from venting.
I am 90% + ready to walk away for another decade.
But.
I really do like the tech. It has some really nice features. The it comes with a free cell account that I dont need. And free wifi that I actually might use.
And the dongle brings 4k to my TV that has a 4k display but oddly doesnt have a 4k smart TV system built in. (Took a loooong time to figure that out).
So I am mildly considering keeping the internet if they make a good offer.
So… whaddaya think? Any experience with these clowns recently? Any better ideas?
The wife needs local channels. I need ESPN and associated networks.
We are used to HBO, Netflix.
We hate sling, but at the time it was the only way to get ACC games.
We need DVR features. The wife likes to keep every Today show and General Hospital recorded.
The floor is open for comment-
Get a HD antenna for the local channels? Not the same as having Xfinity do their thing but it may work just fine.
If you want to get slightly fancier, I have one of https://www.silicondust.com/hdhomerun/ connected to my Plex, which gives me DVR functionality for local HD stations.
I loathe Comcast/Xfinity with the burning heat of 10,000 suns, AT&T fiber finally became available in my apartment building & I switched immediately. This was just over a year ago.
Disconnecting from Comcas: I was neither nice nor pleasant about it, so it only took hours rather than days.
They then proceeded to phone-bomb me with ‘special offers’ so often I blocked each of the many different numbers (with no caller ID) they used.
I will do everything in my power never to have to deal with them again. Up to and including rejecting any new rental I might move to if the only internet option is Comcast.
Never again.
Don’t give any of your hard earned money to companies that do business in this manner. Period. $0.00.
Nothing to offer here.
I have been on Spectrum (and its predecessor Time Warner) for cable and internet for many years and been more or less satisfied. Not that there was any real choice wherever I lived.
Matches my Comcast experience. I have the option of Verizon fiber or Comcast.
We have only Comcast at family vacation property. The straight up lied with repair that never happened.
My wife said she’d divorce me if I used them on our primary residence.

Which is weird considering so many options to choose from…why alienate yourself by providing shitty service?
Exxon moved its incorporation. It moved HQ a while ago. Now Samsung says, bye!

Hypothetically…
Hypothetically let’s just say that you had strong reason to believe that an inmate got access to a cell phone. This convict had abused multiple minors and is doing let’s say 30 years for raping a 16 year old. Hypothetically let’s say they are following roughly 50 people on Instagram, but only let 8 people follow them back (it’s private and can’t be viewed – hypothetically). One of the people they follow but who doesn’t follow them back is one of his baby mama’s who only has teenage girls on her own profile following her. Is that a red flag or nah?
Now, this hypothetical creep cannot leap out of the screen like Freddy Krueger and rape them obviously. But there’s a lot of awful shit they can still get up to, right?
Now, hypothetically you can’t 100% prove that it’s the inmate behind the profile. They change the name slightly. A letter in the first name and a different last night, but the profile picture is a giveaway.
Hypothetically do you just stay the fuck out of it? Do you go to department of corretions/Meta about it? Do you approach baby mama knowing that she is going to try and tip him off right away?
Ideally Iyou’d get smoking gun evidence in this hypothetical. Though that’s damn near impossible, right?
Email the warden with the evidence. It’s unlikely they’ll take action, but at least your conscience will be clear.
The serial groper I tracked down in Chicago became the subject of The Derponomicon. Someone emailed me his mugshot. Same face, but a slightly different name than what he went by. The mugshot listed multiple aliases.
The funny thing is it all started because he insulted me, and when I googled his name, the autocomplete suggestion was “sex offender”.
Anyway, I backed off after he confessed his crimes to me and did his penance by responding to the questions I posed in The Derponomicon.
https://platedlizard.blogspot.com/2014/05/the-derponomicon-part-1.html
I knew a serial groper and now she’s my wife.
In Florida, you’d like to think the Department of Corrections would have *some* interest in a sex offender having a phone with unfettered internet access. But who knows at the end of the day. I’d think at minimum they’d try nd get the phone and investigate what was done with it.
Main concern I have (and I’m mildly batshit for this part to put it mildly) is not wanting to get anyone else ‘involved.’ You never know who gave the little creep the phone, who is paying for it, or what they’re even using it for. They went in on sex crimes, but could be involved with anything at this point. And it’s pretty much a guarantee that he is using it for’amusement.’ Obviously Instagram is known for Instahoes, but it gives pretty easy access to young girls.
I haven’t spoken to many people on this, but the general attitude is dismissiveness. Not because the argument it’s him isn’t fairly compelling, though they can fall back onto that (what if someone else is running it, even though it makes no sense).
It’s just a general sense to stay out of it. Like shit that happens on the internet stays on the internet and doesn’t bleed out.
Little creep even threatened his victim/her family when being sentenced after getting argumentative with someone in the gallery who he thought looked at him wrong. Like, who the fuck knows what he’s really doing? Though I now suspect it was happening on Facebook before this. I saw the account there initially (now gone, no idea why) and though they must have been released because it was obvious despite the name that it was them.
It’s just a general lack of desire to get involved.
This guy spent a few years grabbing the asses of random female students on the street around Northwestern University. He finally got caught because one of his victims was a close relative of a courtroom stenographer.
It was amusing when he whined to me that as part of his sentence, he had to attend meetings with rapists and child molesters, because of course in his mind, he was nowhere near that bad.
When I posted evidence of his crimes on my blog, he emailed me and said he’d lost $1,000 worth of business. I told him I’d take down the post if he told me what he did.
There are scumbags out there, and they often don’t stop until they’re forced to.
“While polls tipped Cepeda to finish ahead of his right-wing challenger, official results showed that he trailed, with 41% of votes compared to De La Espriella’s 43.7%, with almost all ballots counted.
After topping the vote, De La Espriella said in the runoff he would “defeat tyranny, absolutism”, calling the result a “triumph for those of us who have never experienced living off the state’s teat”.”
I like this guy. At least what he says. I can’t imagine how legit deadly terrifying the Deep State is down there.
Ugh. While I have generally and overwhelmingly approved of our move to NKY, this management team is stuck in old FAA mode and it pisses me off.
First, my manager makes the absent minded professor seem like a Millennial dad at his kid’s kindergarten graduation. He is absolutely terrible at management.
Second, his boss is the type of boss that sees their subordinates on training/leave/out of office and then dumps the shit that hasnt been getting done cause said airhead hasn’t been doing them.
Third, like all things government, we are riding a way back to 2010 and walling off and protecting positions so only those in the position can get experience and don’t you dare delegate downward to peers who could benefit.
Needless to say, I will be putting in for another job, one that allows me to stay here cause I cannot deal with this a third time. Ive trained too many manager to go through it agin.
For instance. We have a once in a lifetime opportunity in which we are actually upgrading equipment. Boss and his boss? Only select people will be involved.
Horseshit. Not saying offload the whole project, but these kids could use the experience of actual upgrades coming in and how to handle the project or at minimum be the point of contact on the ground. Nah, only one person will handle that.
Protective shields up!
I do not understand that mindset.
