Our little café was overrun yesterday with football players; the local university was having some sort of event welcoming student athletes and apparently our food was better. These kids have some odd choices, but we were happy to charge extra and take their money. Despite being (at best) a fourth tier school, the president is committed to building the athletic program to encompass at least half the students. Nice, given the the university is hovering on the edge of insolvency. This isn’t going to save it.
But speaking of saving, there are birthdays today, which include un homme qui est anulleé; a guy who never gave up; another fucking uplifter; a fantastically underrated cartoonist who mastered essentialism; an excellent third baseman who is only forgotten because of whom he mentored; the masturbatory fantasy of every young male in the mid ’60s; a guy who really knew how to have a ball; my favorite rock drummer, who was known for his calm and conservative approach to life and music; a woman for whom lampposts and woodchippers were seemingly designed; and a guy who was a constant inspiration to me.

It’s a thing. See it constantly now. It’s gotten to the point where I can identify it just by hearing the vomiting. Positive for cannabis, every single time.

Weird…. when evaluating the legality of a traffic stop, motive isnt a factor. Even when a “failure to signal” is an obvious pretext, the courts will find the stop legal.
