Well, week 1 of the college season is in the books after last night’s (delayed) FSU-SMU game. Let’s see if Norvell survives the bye week. The fans were certainly not happy in the stadium last night. Week 2 has some biggies on tap, with the Buckeyes, and me, headed to Austin headlining the slate of games. The US Open QF are set, and the US looks to be well-represented. I got nothing else, as it’s way too late to dissect the end of the TTUN game at this point. So I’m moving on.
Whatever the level of satisfaction is, it’s too high. The entire system has been corrupted after being taken over by radical imbeciles.
Pretty sure the terms “far-right” and “centrist” are being misapplied here. Especially since what’s being labeled “far-right” is what I’d call right-leaning, and “centrist” means leftist-leaning-socialist. But it’s Europe, so maybe they are using metric designations.
Welcome to the party, pal. A bunch of us have been saying this for years.
I’m glad he got out. Now he can be charged with negligent homicide for being an idiot.
Too bad he wasn’t stealing money meant to resettle migrants. That would have at least been a silver lining to the case.
This will cause a lot of heads to explode. In more ways than one.
Grifters gonna grift. And that doesn’t just apply to Hunter Biden.
Holy crap, they did the Norm bit! The man was a prophet.
Not all heroes wear capes. This is where jury nullification comes in. But he’ll probably end up with a jury comprised off people similar to the Clancy one and get convicted after 10 minutes of deliberation.
One man’s “public art” is another man’s vandalism. Try doing this on property you actually own next time, dummies.
Here’s a fun little track. Their early days were so fun. Just one great track after another. Enjoy these two of them.
And enjoy this lovely Tuesday, dear friends.

They got on that train late.
It’s only the people who disagree with me who are political.

Officials said that Madeya fraudulently misappropriated $319,997.03 from multiple churches and followers, as well as more than $230,000 from his mother’s investment accounts.
He is also accused of failing to pay $248,663.43 in taxes.
I wonder if this was an attempt to qualify for a government job.
On the German election, I’m enjoying Top Man, Walter Russell Mead, at the WSJ framing AfD.
Sunday’s victory of the anti-immigrant, anti-America, pro-Russia and pro-China Alternative for Germany party, or AfD, in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt shook Europe to its core.
https://www.wsj.com/opinion/europe-hits-the-snooze-button-23e291a7?st=92aJNz&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink
A lot of base-stealing there.
Rookie amount of base stealing. Gotta pump those numbers up!
I’ve not heard anything about being “anti-America” or “pro-China”.
As for Russia, the last I heard they “want to work with them” or something. The entire establishment is itching for war against Russia so any deviation from that position is going to be deceitfully characterized as “pro-Russia”.
Pro-russia = we want heat in our homes this winter. Since we don’t use our own resources for some reason.
The AfD is not really a right wing party in American terms, economically they tend lefty. They are only right wing in terms of wanting to preserve their nation. It is kind of insane that that is even a controversial position in a party standing for election, much less exstremist.
They have 2 things that distinguish them.
They talk like campaign Trump about immigration.
They want a rapprochement with Russia and the Russian gas turned back on to revive the economy.
The “mainstream” parties don’t talk about immigration and talk about preparing for war with Russia.
Center left would be how I would describe them after reading their policy positions.
We like to joke in the US that there is no difference between the two major parties.
In Germany, it is no joke at all. All of the major parties are virtually identical. They are all various flavors of leftism. That is why it seems perfectly normal for the entire elite establishment to align itself against the will of average voters like this.
They need to just take control and ban the AfD for the good of the nation. You know, like another party had to do because of the Reichstag fire.
They have already tried to ban it several times.
They aren’t really identical, it’s just that the spectrum they spread over starts at a bit left of Josh Shapiro (CDU) and runs a bit to the left of Mao (Die Linke).
Horseshoe, not spectrum. BSW broke away from Die Linke and the one party discussing tolerating the AfD. However, the BSW in exit polling was split down the middle as to whether the CDU or AfD should form the next government.

Murals about labor.
Paint over all of them.
This is near where Army Street had to be renamed for Cesar Chavez, because reasons.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Biden would send 20% of the one-billion token supply to substack subscribers, members of a mailing list and investors in President Donald Trump’s memecoin, Official Trump (TRUMP), whose value has dropped by about 97% since reaching an all-time high price in January 2025.
Sending to Trump memecoin buyers is actually a good idea. If they fell for the Trump coin, what else will they fall for?
Two sayings come to mind – Never give a sucker an even break and A fool and his money are soon parted.
Because it’s not your fucking property and you had no right to paint it without the property owner’s permission?
^THIS.
What are the odds they find a local judge to issue a restraining order on the property owner? I’d set them much higher that 50/50.
Hell, I’d bet that’s a near certainty.
The property owner doesn’t have standing to appeal.

So, all lefty causes in an extremely lefty neighborhood in a lefty city. I am genuinely surprised the building owner wasn’t 100% on board with the graffiti.
Teds’ nailed it.
Also, too, “More than 700 murals have been created at the site…”
They get painted over all the time.
Someone needs to strip the paint off the wall and start over with something that will thwart the vandals.
I suspect “Murals” look a lot like gang signs to me.

The anti-graffiti wall test
Dammit, Tres. I was just about to post that.
Problem is no one is going to enforce any anti-graffiti ordinances, and as those buildings front onto an alley that cannot be blocked, they are just going to get re-graffitied.
Whole thing is a waste of time and energy.

Socialism is just a stepping stone to communism. Anyone claiming they want to “stop” at socialism is a lying ratfucker or a brain-dead moron like the subject of that article.
I think only the fiercely loyal commies know what the end-game is. The others that talk their “fair share” shit believe they have good intentions and would stop once they got their “fair share”. Like when I ask my oldest, who despises Elon what is a fair amount and her response is an emotional outburst of “I don’t know but no one needs that much. How many baby mamas does he have?”
Sounds like my kids.

Go read Bryson’s “A Short History of Nearly Everything” and watch as generation after generation of scientists smother the upcoming group who’s lab work proves the previous group had it wrong. The behavior is bad enough, but especially disgusting amongst the “scientific community” who are supposedly cold blooded Gil Grissom types that allegedly go where the evidence leads.
They act far more like a priesthood that banishes heretics than the actual priesthood does.

Now, the mall is back on the market, with bids due Wednesday. Brokers expect it to sell for no more than $130 million—a shockingly meager sum compared with its $1.2 billion valuation a decade ago.

Golly why would this happen?
Ain’t that the truth WTF.
“shoplifting and homelessness kept the crowds away”
And probably still do.
I have a suspicion that this article is painting a rosier picture than is actually present. If everything around it is “thriving” there is no reason that mall is still dead.
I am sure they are lying about the thriving, but the mall is about as relevant these days as the village market day. It’s interesting to me how the ‘progressive’ people all seem to hate actual progress. They want us to go back downtown shopping districts and railroads.
It’s thriving in that it has a lot of ethnic food places!
It will come back, everything has a price.
We may not like it but the Laws of Economics can’t be overcome.
There is a mall near me that’s packed. It doesn’t hurt that the sales tax is cut in half there.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ SF had a thriving downtown until they blew it with the vid reaction. It’s not “denying progress” to return to the way things were all of six years ago.
Those are outliers. There are still village market days as well, but the heyday of rail and malls and downtowns is long over.

Okay, look. This seeing 8 a.m. from the front side instead of the back side is seriously messed up. I want ALL 24 hours of my day back. *hmphf* I mean, once you’ve worked graves and you find out there are 24 hours in a day, this is like being grounded for 8 hours a day.
Sleep eventually sneaks up on you. I get not liking losing the time. But at some point it will take it if you don’t give it.
Never really did for me. I could go for weeks on 3-4 hours a night, crash for 24 hours or so in increments, and be fine. I’ve done this for 30 years once I found the miracle ECA stack while I was low-carbing (and even before then without chemical assistance). I mean, I made a 2500-mile round trip in 4 days once, so …
But I can’t do it with my shiny brand new W2 job 30 years later.

So I’m actually working on my sleep hygiene, which was in progress before I got this W2 job but now I’ve been kind of wedged into a corner to be diligent about it.

“Lindsay Clancy’s outspoken lawyer, Kevin Reddington, directly appealed to President Trump early Tuesday to pardon the killer mom.
“Mr. President, I would hope that you would consider this young lady – the type of person she is and what she’s been through – and consider a pardon,” he told “Good Morning America” when asked what was next for Clancy after her high-profile case ended in a mistrial Friday.
The 75-year-old lawyer said he hoped Trump would weigh in given that he had “felt compelled to speak out about this case,” without noting how he’s said the mom would have to “pay the price” for killing her three children: Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and baby Callan, 8 months.”

Agree with Ted. To answer your question, no. Trump cannot pardon state charges, only federal.
Trump should still tweet something along the lines that he will consider clemency for all state crimes he is authorized to pardon. Maybe the next jury will convict just to stick it to OMB.

Not too unusual. We called that (first 60 days) a probationary period where the new hire could leave without any notice and we had the same reservations.
We knew that the new hires were looking for jobs at other places that paid better or fit their education/qualifications. We rarely had to exercise our half but often new hires moved on.

Yes, it is male-dominated (approximately 75 percent men/25 percent women) out on the factory floor, but other than the other workers saying, “Hi” or asking if we need help finding something, nothing inappropriate has happened when I/we have been out there. I asked her if she has specific instances of anything happening, and if so, the company has strong policies for dealing with this type of behavior, and to contact human resources. She said, “No, nothing,” but she can “feel” them looking at her and doesn’t like it when men come up to her asking if she needs help. Chimps love to eat faces and rip off dongs.
Even without teeth the chimp wins. Stronger, with strength at more angles, and more flexible. Chimp shoulders have more range of motion, and they have a lot more strength in the lateral extension than we do. Those arm bars are not going to work well.
Yeah, we’re the weakest great ape because we specced into higher intelligence. Though these sorts of events don’t demonstrate it too well.
