Who wants more fake outrage?
This is my review of Sullivan’s Brewing Co Maltings Red Ale:

Yes I’m going to talk about Sydney two weeks in a row. Why? She creates controversy and quite frankly you want an excuse to talk about her wearing next to nothing. I’m selling clicks here, granted its for free but I am selling them nonetheless.
We are going to do this objectively and start with the ad in question:
Take it in, and ask yourself what is being sold here? Watch it as many times as you need. Also consider how nobody is talking about the follow up video where she asks you to bet responsibly.
What is this ad about? Sports betting.
What is this ad not about? Women’s sports, which incidentally nobody bets on.
Now this has drawn the ire from the usual suspects that look exactly like the overweight British feminist, journo you expect to be offended by this. Its also drew opinions from the blonde basketball player from the meme. You know the one where she is pointing.
Cunningham also recognized why the advertisement produced such a strong reaction within the women’s sports community. Women athletes have spent years fighting to have their performances, accomplishments and personalities promoted without their appearances becoming the primary focus. With the WNBA experiencing significant growth, many fans and players want marketing campaigns to showcase the quality of the competition.
Cunningham acknowledged that seeing an ad like Sweeney’s could initially feel discouraging to women who have worked to earn greater respect for their athletic abilities.
“I can understand when you first see that ad that it could kind of deflate women, because we’ve worked so hard to get a little bit of respect around here,” Cunningham said.
This one actually did bug me a bit. Lady…you are doing the same thing.

To start, yes, I’m calling Sydney Sweeney out for choosing to participate in it. I don’t agree with that choice, and I’m disappointed that she lent her platform to a message I believe is harmful to women. But calling out a decision I disagree with is not the same as tearing her down. I can respect her as a fellow woman, recognize her success, and still be honest about the fact that I think she got this one wrong.
But I do want to make it clear that this post isn’t about tearing down one woman.
It’s about where society keeps teaching women their value lies.Women’s sports have fought for decades to be taken seriously. Female athletes have had to prove, over and over again, that our bodies are capable of extraordinary things. That strength is beautiful. That athleticism is worth watching. That women deserve attention for what we can DO, not just how desirable we can be while doing it.
For those that don’t know, Crossfit actually does have competitions, and it is split by gender. Such competitions actually do draw a lot of attention from standout performers like everything else and have their own social media following. You’ve probably seen a fair number of thirsty videos in your feed if you are a gym going type. Because nothing says stop selling your body to create interest for your sport quite like beefcake pushing the structural limits of your elastic booty shorts.
At least the Irish are still reliably self-aware. This one brings back a fond memory of finding this in a pub in County Kerry and subsequently ordering it before having some fun on the roundabouts in town. This is a bit darker than the typical Alt, Irish Red, or whatever you want to call it. Its not exactly Killian’s if that’s what you are thinking even if its pretty much going for the same market niche without admitting to itself that’s what its doing. Should I offer these guys a bit more grace? Yes, because I did like this one, even if it is no longer available in pints. Stupid EU, and their stupid standardized metric units. Sullivan’s Brewing Co Maltings Red Ale: 3.7/5

The Drinker video was good.
The Drinker always is.
Which one is that?
What is this ad not about? Women’s sports
But I have it on good authority, from EXPERTS, that this ad is a direct insult to every woman who ever ran or jumped or threw a ball. It cancels their grrrrrl pawr essence.
I appreciate MS making this point. Love the ad or hate the ad, it’s not about women’s sports!
Bill Burr on women’s sports.

“a naked Sweeney is seen playing tennis, golf and basketball, apparently unconcerned about health and safety protocol (did her mother or PE teachers never reiterate the importance of wearing a proper sports bra during strenuous physical activity?)”
No, she isn’t.
“The only thing the actress enjoys more than rubbing her God-given cleavage in our faces is insisting that any feminist quick to criticise her gratuitous sex scenes (usually written and directed by men) or naked marketing stunts is jealous or missing the point.”
Citation needed.
“Sweeney, meanwhile, is decidedly unpopular, especially among women, meaning she has no core audience to depend on…. She does not seem like a “girl’s girl”, so women don’t pay to support her.”
Who do you think watched Euphoria?
The legions of Zendya fans.
There has to be at least a dozen of them.
Sweeney, meanwhile, is decidedly unpopular,
Stupid fingers.
So I guess she has tens of millions of social media hate-followers?
Teenage and younger Gen Z girls DO seem to like Zendaya. I find most men indifferent to her. Her acting is kind of blah and same no matter the role. She’s not conventionally hot or anything, but she’s not hideous. So men remain largely apathetic. And while she has flirted with getting political, she’s nowhere near as in your face with her politics as many in her cohort or as she could be so it kind of flies under the radar. Plus she takes the colonizer dick from Tom Holland so she’s pretty non-threatening politically and kind of only ambiguously not white.
But yea, Sweeney is unpopular with a certain shrill, shrieking cohort of feminists online. Those people are fairly muted and quiet in most areas of meat space. Guys like her because she’s attractive, plays on her femininity and nice rack, and seems to be based by female actress standards.
The quiet majority likes Sweeney or actively supports her.
She is being decidedly unpopular all the way to the bank.
JFC are these people even conscious of anything outside their bubble?
Cunningham did not completely disagree with those concerns. Her first question, however, had more to do with whether Sweeney had an authentic connection to the product.
Leaving aside that whole “equity stake” business, when did it ever matter whether a paid product spokesman had an “authentic connection” (over and above monetary compensation) to the product?
Never
But it’s a new day so there are new rules.
I can’t drink reds.
Ok I CAN.
But my GI tract says nope and run to the toilet in about 45 min.
Huh. Interesting as there’s generally no difference between what gives a red its color and what gives a stout its color beyond the amount. Unless you’re drinking stuff that people are using Sinamar, which wouldn’t make much sense.
Nobody can accuse the WNBA of selling female beauty, unless tattooed-lady carnival sideshow freaks is your thing.
NO POLITICS
This cannot be.
Overweight British (redundant?) feminist, with nose ring!
Women buy and wear those sports clothes exclusively for functionality reasons.
I’ve enjoyed criticism of the ad from women cyclists who like posting images of themselves in tight cycling clothes, or in the off-season in bikinis.
“That’s different!”
True. Generally they lack curves.
They only ride straight tracks?
I’m unclear on how Sweeney doing ads for a betting site is somehow at odds with women’s sports being taken seriously. She wasn’t pitching women’s sports, or even betting on women’s sports. I guess the female athletes taking this line are against any ads for anything using sex appeal? If so, I sure haven’t heard anything from them along those lines.
Is it safe to say there is now a Sweeney Derangement Syndrome, too?
Does anyone remember when Serena and Venus Williams were all but hurt and angry that pretty blond players were getting attention for being pretty blondes? And how they were undermining the sport by using their sex appeal?
They shut-up with a quickness when they were suddenly featured in swimsuit issues of SI and other rags. The left wing sports media just had to tell them you’re pretty Nubian queens, too, and the jealousy was calmed a bit.
That’s the issue they have with it. Jealousy. Women are incredibly petty when it comes to other women and claims to support one another are almost entirely bullshit.
Most female athletes have little boy bodies and no sex appeal.
Potator – I don’t know what lie you think I or anyone else is passing off as “honest skepticism.” If you want to argue over what control Israel does or does not exercise over our foreign policy or any other aspect of policy, we can do that. But if you simply want to dismiss the argument entirely as a lie, then you really can’t claim that you are curious about anything. You may not agree with it, but the perception among many on the right – particularly the youths – is that the Jews/Israel control a lot of what our government does and in particular under Trump 2.0.
Don’t claim you are curious/ask questions if you don’t want the answers.
Substack periodically switches up what I see on my feed. Recently, it has been offering me what is apparently a rich vein of outright anti-Semitism. Not even wearing the “anti-Zionist” lipstick. I’ve been amazed at how many people apparently just really hate the Jews and believe that just about every bad thing that ever happens anywhere is a Jewish plot of some kind. From ultra-processed food to the tranny craze, I mean, you name it, it wuz the Jooz.
Jus’ sayin’.
Depends how far right you go and that shit is increasing in frequency. When people see the Jews as having an outsized influence in general, they start ascribing blame to them for more and more things on a sliding scale as well.
So when people look at the Iran War which is unquestionably about Israel in my view, they are probably going to be more inclined to blame them for other things that make no sense as well.
Jewish influence in a lot of areas is very real. And it doesn’t take a conspiracy of any kind to admit that or recognize it.
Regardless, the real point I was honestly making is that Potato asked why people on the right are critical of Israel. I told him the why, whether anyone agrees with it or not. He just dismissed it as a lie and moved on.
So I don’t really get the sense he’s as curious to understand as he said he was.
Havent you heard about the Rothchilds, the Bilderburgs….!!!?
If you’re looking at an outsized lobby I’d point to the damage the gay race commies have caused since the 80s.
Far smaller percentage of the population compared to Them and having made actual damage to the culture at large measured in lives shattered and slaughtered at planned parenthood.
Jews post a Holocaust are kinda okay to Euros and antisemites. (For a short period of time.) Jews saying, “Alright that is enough of this shit.” and defending themselves is so not okay to the same classes of people.
I posit that if Iran and Hamas get their desires and institutes Holocaust V21c on Israel the same two classes will cluck, “We never thought that Iran and the Pali were speaking the truth about their desires. It is sad, but we can’t let the surviving Jews stay here. THEY always bring trouble.”
Three Door, one of the reasons Jews get blamed for so much degeneracy (not saying it’s all the J00s here) is because they’ve played a fairly active role in all that. There’s a pretty sizable overlap between leftie Jews and all sorts of Marxist fuckery in every aspect of life. Individuals don’t represent a group and it doesn’t make it a conspiracy.
Jew hatred, particularly in Europe, pretty much never went anywhere as I see it. It was just swept under the rug.
I’ve said repeatedly that I couldn’t give two flying fucks about Palestine. Of all the supposed atrocities going on, Palestine wasn’t even up there until they decided to launch a war in the most ridiculously, cartoonishly evil way they could. They have that shit coming to them at this point.
It’s not a coincidence to me that there’s so much fixation on the Jews and Palestine. From being white adjacent/white to their history with Europeans, the Euros can’t let their existence go. But the Palestinians mostly create their own issues and there’s so much terrible shit going on across the globe that the left couldn’t give two flying fucks about that it makes their cries of moral superiority ring pretty hollow.
But when young Republicans who grew up with parents who were staunchly pro-Israel and in some cases batshit Evangelical pastors telling them they were meant to have that land start questioning the narratives, something is probably going on there that you old fucks should pay attention to and not just dismiss as garden variety anti-Semitism.
Even if it is just hate of Jews disguised as political commentary, if you aren’t confronting it with convincing arguments you aren’t going to like where things go.
And I’ll be blunt – Israel’s security isn’t worth it to me to pay $60+ everytime I fill up my tank. Iran was NOT a god damn threat to the US. Give them a hundred nukes tomorrow and I could give two flying fucks to be honest. But I have yet to see ANY convincing evidence that they were any closer to achieving that.
That so many people can buy that this was about defense of US interests when Trump and his band of idiots were telling you months prior what a smashing success the first Iran war was at demolishing their nuclear capabilities is astounding to me.
Propaganda is everywhere and I don’t think the pro-Israel side is even close to immune to it.
So yea, my griping about Israel is more about the general trends I see in politics and dragging us into yet another kinetic action in the Middle East.
What the fuck is the sales pitch to vote Republican at this point? They’re not outright commies like the Dems?
Yay…
Somehow I don’t think a culture that lionizes suicide bombers is going to be worried about the threat of mutually assured destruction if they also had nukes.
I’m baffled how when it comes time to talk about this, you guys resort to platitudes. I can mock Islam as much as the next guy, but their behavior since America decided to start a war with them has shown they’re pretty damn rational. They held back to a high degree in the first attack as we’ve seen. They clearly could have done a lot more damage beyond lobbing a few token missiles.
Iran was quite clearly a more responsible actor and did more to avoid the war than the US (who has frankly been the world’s most belligerent nation throughout the entirety of my lifetime).
If they were all just looking to be martyrs, that was their chance.
But even then, you guys can’t even prove the basic premise that their nuclear program was a threat or imminently about to achieve anything and there’s more than a little bit of reason to doubt it.
When I can play DECADES of predictions from Netanyahu alone saying they were on the verge of getting nukes and it runs counter to America’s own intelligence and basic common sense, I grow tired of hearing the bullshit.
Iran has shown itself to be a more rational and stable actor in many respects than the US.
Is that even “far right”?
The “far left” hates Jews every bit as much as I have been told all my life that the “far right” does. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Seriously? The whole “Death to America” thing, the body count of Americans their proxies have put up, all that is just “meh”? Not to mention the complete buttfucking they could give everybody in the Mideast and beyond if they were tucked in behind a nuclear umbrella. The Norks at least have China holding their leash. The IRGC has nobody, and from what we have seen, pretty low-level commanders can and will launch attacks on other countries.
Me neither, but they damn sure want them and have invested heavily in it. If not for the periodic interference in their nuke program, I’m pretty sure they would have them by now.
Iran is a dilemma – can’t live with ‘em, can’t do much about ‘em, apparently.
The 13yo came in second out of ~1,500 kids at the 5k run. The winner, we know of through other meets, won by ~90 seconds or so, but nephew was in third coming through the chute. I’m glad he found another spark in the last ~20 yards to overtake the kid in second place. If he decides to continue caring about it, this could be his athletic strength. Likely won’t be built for sprinty-er races, but 2mi – marathon? Yep. He’s done a couple 12mi races; I think his first marathon is not too far away.
He played soccer and has the ability, but he’s not into team sports. Very much like his dad, in that regard. And elsewhere. I know SiL’d give me shit if I named my kid Evan Jr. cuz it’d be like ultra patriarchal and all that. So Colin names his firstborn after his own middle name. Like no one would notice! (Oh, I notice, boy-o.) And SiL obv, like totes McGotes thinks that’s, like, empowering or some shit.
(Honestly, I imagine he subtly incepted the idea into her so she thought it was hers all along. He did that shit to me a lot as a kid, particularly with what sort of treats, movies or whatever we got. I was always happy, but he’d always win a bit more.. somehow…)
Fucking Jeff Bezos. I ordered loctite on Amazon. I had no idea what a fucking counterfeit gray market world I was entering.
I got a defaced Indian market only bottle that has a blue liquid inside that may or may not be thread-locker.
Upon investigation it’s a know scam to the point that Henkel has holographic stickers on its product that you can scan to check batches. JFC.
There’s a lot of fake shit on Amazon and people still associate it with being a reputable retailer. I got at least two fake SD cards and they came from supposedly Amazon themselves. So I said no more.
The laptop I purchased seems to be the real deal and no issues, but I was nervous as hell to spend that kind of money with them even when it said Amazon was the seller. Just had no other real options unless I wanted to wait months and months to get what I wanted.
Obviously it’s the Jews that did it.
You know, I was blaming the Pajeets, but it could very well be the Malikai’s pulling the strings there too.
That is wild. I would have never guessed that’s a thing.
It’s totally a thing. With a lot of different stuff. I do a ton of orders through Amazon and I have been bitten enough to never order small expensive things through there.
Probably 80% of the cycling kit on Amazon is counterfeit stuff out of Asia.
RJ – I’m careful with many things there. It depends on what I’m ordering as well as the price.
For example I ordered a Holosun optic for my pistol that was available on Amazon, but I chose a different online seller because I’d read there were issues with repackaged returns and fakes.
OTH, for a PC – I’d oder there as long as Amazon was the seller. You’ve got options for return and chargeback there.
In this case Amazon took it back, but I was hoping not to have to return the product. No such luck, but they are picking up return shipping.
I just bought a throw blanket from Amazon – the name of the company was, I shit you not, “CZQLWW”.
I mean, it’s crocheted acrylic so I wasn’t terribly worried about “counterfeit” but JFC, China. Really?
https://www.pcmag.com/news/tired-of-low-quality-amazon-goods-try-this-extension
This is handy and also shows country of origin.
Neat – appears to work as advertised. My CZQLWW item was highlighted as “no brand at front of listing”.
Off with his head
Republican nominee Joe Arminio was removed from a forum debate in Wilmington, Del., after misgendering his opponent, Rep. Sarah McBride (D-Del.).
During the debate between the candidates competing for Delaware’s lone congressional district, Arminio used incorrect pronouns when referring to McBride — who made history in 2024 as the first openly transgender member of Congress.
Incorrect pronouns; just like when Hitler murdered the gypsies.
At least he does a pretty decent job of passing, no stubble or anchor tattoos on the forearms and whatnot. Still a man though.
Never apologize.
An apology is just an admission of guilt and therefore a point of attack to those people.
Even worse, he was right.
Oooh, Med Folk texted me and I uploaded a pic of my Rx for Amphetamines because I tested positive for amphetamines.
See, looky here. I have permission! Well, that’s that part taken care of. I doubt my first day will be Monday, I’m guessing Wed or the Monday after this coming one. (‘Next, next Monday.) I’m also guessing.
More about booty shorts. My booty look gooty in ’em. I’m completely making that up. I’m not sure on the status of my ass’ visual appeal. Kinda bothers me, not knowing. I’m fit, but I’m also small. I don’t think good asses come in S, but I’m not a BIG ass man. I like athletic asses. I don’t understand big ass attraction. Ya can get lost in there.
You may get a visit from the evil grey Buttfuckians from the planet Uranus. They monitor this site.
“I don’t understand big ass attraction…”
Well, you see….oh never mind
For some men, there’s no such thing as too much.
My mom remarked that I have a small ass. Well, I was like 13 at the time. Thanks, mom.
If only she were around to see it now.
Is that really who you want to show it too?
I ordered loctite on Amazon.
You can get loctite almost anywhere. Why order from Amazon?
*even 243
I was ordering other crap so why make a trip for it?
Why DoorDash two Big Mac meals and a coupla chocolate shakes? Convenience my man.
I see little delivery robots running around everywhere and this area is like loaded with restaurants. Including a McDonald’s and a Shake Shack within five minutes. It’s unbelievable how fucking lazy people are.
Yes, it is. In my area there’s a Chic fil A where I get breakfast on the regular and the drive through’s just jammed in the AM. I can and do park and go in and get it to go in half the time but I guess walking thirty feet is just too much for most people nowadays.
Trump’s Iran war has economists aghast
AGHAST!
America and Israel’s ongoing war against Iran has sunk the global economy so deeply in the mire that economists are now seemingly throwing down their pencils in frustration. On Thursday, for the first time since the start of the conflict, analysts at JPMorgan said they don’t have a baseline view of oil markets.
“We simply don’t know how to model the endgame,” Natasha Kaneva, head of the company’s global commodities strategy, said in a note. According to CNBC, analysts at JPMorgan assumed there were some economic red lines the U.S. simply would not cross in the conflict, and that President Donald Trump would eventually be forced to reach a deal with Iran. But close to seven months after the war began, most of those red lines — including oil hitting more than $100 a barrel, gasoline nearing $5 a gallon at the pump or 10-year Treasury yields rising above 5% — have already been crossed, and “the exit strategy is less clear, not more,” in Kaneva’s words.
Save us, Davos Man!
This is all because Strait of Hormuz was closed for awhile.
Maybe all you big brain economists should have pointed out that apparently the entire world economy can be brought to the brink because a narrow strait that has batshit mullahs on one side, and a civil war and a pirate kingdom on the other, and maybe somebody ought to do something about that.
Seemed to be working fine before we poked the hornet’s nest with a stick.
If only we had Joe back to deliver us cheap oil.
I’m actually pretty tired of these media outlets pretending as if the media has some special first amendment rights that the rest of us do not. More than that, it only applies to the media they deem respectable. Cheer when Infowars is sued into oblivion in a kangaroo court or when the Obama admin fucks with Fox News. Cry foul when the Trump admin goes after the AP or MSNBC.
No one has a special right to have access to the White House Press Corps. This is so painfully obvious that you have to wonder what sort of cocktail parties they throw in DC to get a Trump appointee to claim otherwise (even if the appeals court shelved that decision). They obviously wouldn’t extend such a right to various media outlets they deem guilty of wrong think on top of the fact that it’s not even remotely workable in reality. The White House obviously can’t accommodate every media outlet that wants access even if it wanted to.
None of this should have to be said. No case of this type should have been allowed to proceed. For most of our history there wasn’t even a gaggle of reporters following the president around to record his every utterance to begin with. So kindly fuck-off in every which way.
That’s all before we get to the incredible audacity of the left pretending to care about free speech/the first amendment to begin with after the last two decades or so.
Can we please just neutron bomb the middle east in its entirety? I am sick to death of hearing about that third world tribalist shithole.
