ZARDOZ SPEAKS TO YOU, HIS CHOSEN ONES. A QUICK REMINDER OF FIRST PRINCIPLES – THE GUN IS GOOD, THE PENIS IS BAD. RIGHT? NOW THAT WE ARE BACK TO BASICS, ZARDOZ WILL PROVIDE THE CHOSEN ONES THE GIFT OF ADVICE. GO FORTH AND READ!

Q:  Sometimes when I am at a store waiting to check out, a person will move up very close to me. It isn’t because they don’t have plenty of room. It makes me uncomfortable. What is an appropriate thing to say to someone who crowds you during your transaction? — NEED MY SPACE

A: ZARDOZ SYMPATHIZES WITH YOU. THE FILTH OF BRUTALS THAT PLAGUE THE EARTH NEEDS TO BE CLEANSED. ZARDOZ WILL SEND BRUTAL EXTERMINATORS TO YOUR LOCATION AND “BACK” OFF THE BRUTALS WHO CROWD YOU.

Q: My father is in his mid-80s. He has been to the hospital several times in the last month because of age-related medical conditions. A family member is vacationing here and wants to stay at dad’s house for a week instead of a hotel or bed-and-breakfast. Dad told me he’s not feeling up to it, but he doesn’t know how to tell them without upsetting them.

I passed this message to the family member, and they agreed. A week later, they announced that they were going to come anyway and would be there on a certain date. How do I explain that this is too much for him? Having guests stay at your house is a lot of work and can create a lot of stress. — GET A ROOM

A: ZARDOZ IS CONFLICTED ON THIS ONE. WHILE ZARDOZ HAS NO ISSUE OF THE RUDE RELATION SPEEDING THE QUITTANCE OF THE ELDER, SOME MANNERS ARE CALLED FOR. THEREFORE, ZARDOZ WILL HAVE THE INTRUDING RELATIVE PLACED INTO GRAIN SLAVERY IN THE SERVICE OF THE VORTEX.

ZARDOZ HAS SPOKEN.

How do I explain that this is too much for him?

“Dad is sick. Get a hotel.”

    Simple as that.

    • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!
    • Evan from Evansville

But they REALLY don’t want a hotel or a bed-and-breakfast. Like. Strenuously don’t want, even.

You guys make things so hard.

      • R.J.

Jeez, I PREFER a hotel over staying at a relative’s house during holidays. That way I have my own privacy, cleanliness standard and access to drink specials at a bar:

Dad is sick. Help take care of the house for him.

      • R C Dean

“Thank God you’ll be here for a week. As you know, Dad isn’t feeling well and hasn’t been able to keep up with things. Here’s a list of the projects you’ll need to get done while you’re staying at his house.”

      • R.J.

I always did that when at my mom’s house. I brought my tools with me. Lately in her 90s I have stayed in a hotel so she could have her peace. I would never ask to stay there. I am not an indigent.
I still bring my tools and spend luncheons fixing things

      • creech

“Thanks for coming for a week. I need a break in the Bahamas. Don’t worry, I’ll leave plenty of diapers and full instructions on how to clean up the frequent diarrhea that his medicine causes.”

      • Fourscore

        Creech gets it…

      • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

I am on my way to visit my dad’s widow, and she really wants me to stay there. But I loathe being under someone else’s roof and only do this because she asks me too. Same with visiting a friend. We are all adults, and don’t need to be under each others thumb and house rules.

  2. ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

ZWAK coming at you from day three of an Around the Rockies road trip! Right now I am at a Hilton in Laramie Wyoming, due to my favorite Wy hotel being full (?) on a Tuesday night. That would be the Historic Plains Hotel in Cheyanne. But we persist, and Hiltons usually have a solid bar/restaurant, so no need to go out in a strange city and find libations, but not enough to hinder driving in a strange city.

Alsotoo, these restaurants usually employ 40YO hessians to be the chef, so you don’t get anyone ambitious who will fuck up basic things like a steak sandwich. Just good, decent food.

Which team would best do Gluttony Night?

      • Threedoor

        Congressional baseball team Chipper.

    • rhywun

the team still isn’t sure how to handle the situation going forward

Tell totalitarian agitators to get fucked. It’s not rocket surgery.

They don’t give a fuck about baseball anyway.

      • R.J.

“ They don’t give a fuck about baseball anyway.”

So true. It’s just about power.

        “Who won’t wear the ribbon?!!?”

        https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tuafhcg843c

    • Evan from Evansville

“The protest (by four players who didn’t wear the RIBBON(!)) moves sparked an entire week of backlash, from both Giants fans accusing the team of tolerating homophobia in one of the nation’s premier cities for LGBTQ+ representation and some conservative Christians, who argued MLB’s warning to the players amounted to religious discrimination. ”

Tolerating homophobia by not wanting to wear a fucking ‘pride’ logo? Uh. Well, they disobeyed their boss’ rules, I’ll give ’em that. And that amounts to “religious discrimination”… uh.. how-who-what in the where, now?

Forcing them to wear a Black Panther, BLM, Antifa, Christian etc symbol, uh… a Disney hat would be looked at as, well… the first four, duh, would’ve been okay. My examples became more generic. Fucking never ends. Anywhere. And MLB’s been better than most, though I don’t follow the others as well. No kneeling, for instance.

      • rhywun

It’s the same in every American league I know of. I don’t watch basketball – maybe Pie can fill us in on that one. You must side with radical propaganda or you’re evil.

This shit really needs to end but I don’t know how it happens. But it starts with the league honcho and the team owners. And they’re way too chickenshit to fight back.

      • Brochettaward

“I think anytime you have a situation like that, it’s always an opportunity to learn,” Posey said. “I think that’s the steps we take as you look back on that, is you reflect and you say, ‘What could have been done differently?’ And try to learn from that and move on.”

There’s no specifics of anything from anyone. The little bitch sports media wants to dance around calling for direct punishments. There was no communication that was going to change how the players felt about being forced to wear shit showing support for things they don’t support.

      • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

The forcing players to wear special uniforms commemorating anything was always a trap. It starts small, but ends up here. If you took away every player who was against this particular topic in any way, you would lose ever Latin player, which is half the league. Which would kill the sport.

In other words, don’t start giving in to anything. You might not know where everyone really stands on an issue. Just play baseball.

    • Ted S.

If Colin Kaepernick didn’t have to stand for the national anthem, then these players don’t have to wear the rainbow Lust Ribbon.

This is all about the sportswriter types wanting to rub the noses of the icky wrongthinkers in it by forcing them to kowtow to the Issue of the Day.

      • Brochettaward

It’s funny because pro-athletes are going to be as socially conservative as any group you’ll find and it especially extends out to the minorities in those leagues.

Like the guy mocks fags in the locker room, then puts a rainbow pin on his hat to go pitch and these twits cheer.

      • rhywun

pro-athletes are going to be as socially conservative as any group you’ll find and it especially extends out to the minorities in those leagues

And yet most of them just don’t DGAF about this stuff. With a few exceptions, none of them are out there bitching about QWERTY+ – until it goes too far, as it has in recent years. The cultural mean in America is as “tolerant” as it has ever been. Anyone freaking out about some sort of “gay holocaust” is fucking delusional.

      • Threedoor

        Gay holocaust

The curtains in the showers are going to be fabulous!

Now that we’re a half hour in, does anybody really think there’s an increasing influence of fundamentalist religion on US politics?

One of the German-language RSS feeds I subscribe to, from the newspaper local to where my German cousins live, fed me a story about a German guy who lived in the US for a decade and doing a book tour for his book about his worries about the increasing influence of fundamentalism on politics in America.

Somehow I can’t imagine a book like this being about the influence of Islamic fundamentalism.

For those who can read German, a brief synopsis of the book is here.

    • Ted S.

Having read the blurb, it’s definitely referring to alleged Christian fundamentalism.

Xenophobia of the sort that suddenly, magically becomes virtuous because of which foreigners are being hated.

    • rhywun

      No. Complete nonsense.

      “zum Gottesstaat”

      Taps out on the title.

      • Ted S.

You missed the word »Talibanisierung« LOL.

    • rhywun

The percentage of Americans who profess adherence to any sort of Christianity – which I assume is the complaint – dropped every year he was here… I wonder how he explains that.

    • SarumanTheWoefullyIgnorant

Well, it seem as if a lot of Bible-thumping organizations have been buying up struggling FM stations in Pennsylvania. But none of them seem to be promoting violence of any sort, unless you’re a left-winger who hears dog whistles in sermons.

      • rhywun

There are definitely some seeds of mainstream pushback to the most radical stuff like transing kids starting to grow. But a return to America ca. 2000 is not in any way a sign of “fundamentalism” in my book.

    • Evan from Evansville

I’ve heard much about young people turning more to religion. No idea how accurate that is, but it seems like mostly Christian stuff. I think the writer+ may be pulling a “far-right” thing, where anything AT ALL religious, just because of that(!), is fundamentally fundamentalist.

Thought bubble: Western liberals kinda thought, kinda in the right direction, that religion was being defeated, and it has lost much of it’s power over the public and in the polls. They’re really pissed that anything could possibly stop the tide they thought they’d dammed.

Think they’re losing an ‘edge?’ Well, start calling it fundamentalist, distract from REAL fundamentalists, blame the other way and exaggerate everything to (further!) terrify their voting blocs. The purple-haired don’t want to feel unsafe. SOP.

    • Threedoor

If you are not a fundamentalist in your religion you do not belong to that faith.

That’s kind of how faith works.

I’ve spent the afternoon and evening watching playoff baseball and Opening Day hockey while drinking this.

Now I have the urge to dance in 3/4 time.

    • Evan from Evansville

Thank you for reminding me about this! Teehee! I really enjoy hockey, though I did play for 2.5 seasons in high school as a total rookie. (That turned out amazing.) It makes me pay attention and focus cuz it’s so fast.

It’s also something to watch instead of NYY v BOS. I don’t care about them, and three games in a day is kinda much.

OH! On NBC/Peacock they said?! WELL! It wasn’t on our NBC. News was. We don’t have Peacock. WTF. Well. I tried to finagle it and waited for the news to end, but noooo game. Dad wanted it. Well, I just bought a month of Peacock for today’s games. just in case. I mean. I’m not missing the Cubs game.

But NOW it IS on NBC. So. Well. I just cancelled our Apple thingy, cuz no more MLB Fridays, so this’ll be cancelled at the end of the month. Dad was rightly upset about “How can a 980 [SAT] guy do this?!” Upset with the QR codes and life moving too fast. It is, dammit!

So Amsterdam is ok with Muslims from the third world, but white British men who may get sloshed? Yea, that’s a big no from them and it totally isn’t political.

OH, and they banned ads for anything related even tangentially to fossil fuels. To include meat.

    • Evan from Evansville

Uh. Did he do anything? Other than exist and be drunk? At least “public disturbance?”

Europe is fucked. Osama won. Suicidal EUnuchs, amazingly, too afraid, too overcome, yet too polite (and disarmed) to do anything about the shitstorm they invited in.

      • Brochettaward

Like 15% of Amsterdam’s pop is now Muslims. They’re worried about drunken Brits peeing in the streets of the red light district.

They just passed more strident laws against sexual violence in the wake of an “asylum-seeker” murdering a 17 year old. They saw a 30% jump in Amsterdam area reported crimes from the previous year and they want to claim it’s solely the result of the new law.

  6. Threedoor

    ZARDOZ.

I need advice. Do I send in a silly pew I have to get factory converted to an SBR now or do I wait to be disappointed by the Supreme Court on the possibility SBR/SBS ruling?

Also at what age should I be buying the seeds of my loins pews? I know the penis is evil but those rounds have been fired and can not be taken back. Can I rehabilitate myself in your eyes by providing my children the Gift of the Gun?

    • R.J.

If you Zoom on Friday, I bet Zardoz will be there and answer your questions.

      • Threedoor

        I haven’t zoomed for a minute. It’s fun.

      • R.J.

I rarely do either. I get so busy.

      • Threedoor

I try not to do silly things in the house. I try to zoom when I’m working, but I’m on week 8 of no work after my most recent surgery. Usually Saturdays as well as I’m west coast and Friday I’m not usually on the job and running till 11pm Pacific.

    • Fourscore

7-8 is a good starting. Safety first, a few holes in tin cans to demonstrate the power. A .22. 10 is about the right age for gun ownership with adult control.

Care and cleaning needs to be taught as well. Girls are included in all phases.

      • Threedoor

        They get the safety lessons.

Got the boy shooting 22 last year a couple of times. And a bad ass pellet gun his grandfather loaned us.

They boy is 8. He’s not into it yet but was pretty excited when I did a function test on go fast mode when we went camping. I need to get the cans out for sure. Reactive targets are fun. Dumb dad just did paper targets to teach fundamentals.

      • Fourscore

Kids like action targets, cans, bottles (like at a dump), water balloons.

I had a NCO in the Army related to him by the way. A Texan ironically enough.

I pissed on his bed once.
