In the latest twist to the Jihad against Bud Light—When you lost the Massholes

This is my review of Mykhola Doppelbock:

I don’t think it is controversial to argue to this crowd we are in a recession; arguing if this is something worse might be a more entertaining discussion.  One thing that tends to happen in such economic times are companies going out of business.  One worth mentioning:  Jenny Craig.

Anyone watching daytime television knows how their system works.  Order their absurdly priced frozen meals, they send it to you along with instructions of when to eat each item.  You then eat them and lose weight based on research their crack team of nutritionists developed to allow a sedentary American operate efficiently on 2000 calories (or less) a day.  Is this really an improvement on the standard American diet?

If you follow their instructions and eat nothing else…probably.

Unfortunately, there could be a number of factors involved in why they went out of business.  One being the expense.  This being a recession $25 for frozen pizza is probably going to get bumped for something more important, like a $3.99 frozen pizza.  The other being the existence of Ozempic. The once a week wonder drug injection meant for diabetes with weight loss being a convenient side effect.  For the latter to have more of an effect might indicate sheer laziness that one cannot even outsource their diet to somebody else and reheat it in a microwave to lose weight.  Nope, drugs prescribed for off-label use are much easier.

The other implication?  Americans gave up on this whole, “healthy lifestyle” thing.  Why worry?  We’re all going to get killed in the next people’s revolution this summer.

Fine, that’s mean.  I’m inclined to think of Bock being quite a bit darker and as a result a bit more balanced.  Its on the sweeter end of the spectrum even if well made.  Is it worth your $2 for a 500mL bottle to satisfy your curiosity?  Sure, but a proper German make in a similar quantity will only set you back about $4.
