¡Martes por la tarde, enlaces mexicanos?

Its all World Cup, all the time. There’s a soccer game on non-stop for the past two weeks. Is the US playing? No. They don’t play again until tomorrow. I don’t even get Mexico, its normally some cut rate EU country vs. a former French colony in Africa. Every damn TV in the house has it on.

Soccer

Anyways so I took my youngest to the gym. He’s taking to the exercises very easily, as this one actually is an athlete. The coordination, body control, and mindset is already there. He didn’t have a great tournament in Cooperstown and we decided since he was old enough for my gym’s insurance carrier, he should start lifting to get his strength level up. They say the hard part is just seeing the ball, so strength coming later is just going to make it easier to get base hits. So we’ll see. He already squats his own bodyweight, I bet I can get him to 95 or 140% by the end of the summer.

¡enalces!

That’s pretty normal for Cabo, to be honest.

Oh so there was a solution to this the entire time? Excellent, thanks for last month’s panic porn.

Autocrat! Journos learned a new word,

Argentina sends the US a list of bad hombres to keep them out of the World Cup. Oddly enough, none of them were on their national team.

Aside from a few baseball players, I’m struck how nobody is paying any attention to the earfquake in Venezuela.

I will say, that sucks. You know what else sucks? Communism.

Here’s a tune. Enjoy your Tuesday!

“Conservative candidate Keiko Fujimori has narrowly won Peru’s presidential election after weeks of contested vote counting, marking the latest right-wing victory in Latin America, where the U.S. is increasingly focusing its attention.”

How come Peru gets better Japanese immigrant politicians than the US?

Mazie Hirono vs Fred Korematsu. Only one of the two went into politics.

Our Japanese imports either play baseball or wrestle.

But the same model raises hard questions. Large unrestricted gifts can give nonprofits unusual freedom, but they can also leave the public with limited visibility into why certain organizations were chosen, how priorities were set, and whether billionaire donors are reshaping civic life without the accountability expected of elected officials or public institutions.

Sorry, children. What makes you think you deserve a say?

Commie activists need to eat, just like boat builders.

What’s that like? My wife is constantly having to remind me about body mechanics when I work out. It eventually clicks, but it takes awhile, especially when I’m doing it under load.

We have a college pitcher who trains at our gym during the summer. His coaches send him workouts. The stuff he does is pretty wild.

Have you noticed if he avoids shoulder press? Both his head coach, and hitting coach told me no shoulder press.

Phil Buchanan, president of the Center for Effective Philanthropy, said CEP’s three-year study of Scott gift recipients found that nonprofits used the money to expand and improve programs, strengthen operations, and shore up their finances.

The impact of these gifts, in aggregate, has been profoundly positive on the organizations that have received them,” Buchanan said in a written statement to Inc. He said the gifts have allowed organizations to expand their reach, serve more people, and improve how they operate.

CEP disclosed that it received $10 million from Scott in 2021.

Meanwhile the communist mayor of NYC demonstrated in front of the home of a man who donated hundreds of millions of dollars to build a new cancer treatment facility there. But what’s the use of that, right?

They said the quiet part out loud. I’m sure I sound like a broken record, but the point of this money isn’t to eliminate problems, it’s to support organizations somehow affiliated with the problems.

      • Rat on a train

The purpose of the organizations isn’t to solve problems. It’s to raise awareness so the problem can be used for political gain.

TOO LOCAL NEWS: Federal judge dismisses DoJ’s voter roll lawsuit

The ruling from U.S. District Judge Joseph LaPlante found that the request to provide the state’s voter registration list did not comply with a section of the Civil Rights Act of 1960 pertaining to federal election records. His ruling, issued Monday, also found that the Justice Department failed to allege any violation under the Help America Vote Act of 2002, which established standards for states’ voting systems and voter registration lists.

That prevents “allowing the Attorney General unrestricted access to New Hampshire’s (voter list) to conduct a line-by-line audit to assess a ‘possible’ violation of a federal statute,” wrote LaPlante, an appointee of former President George W. Bush.

I saw a TwiX comment the other day, referencing the various people in Africa who have died since USAID funding was pulled. The comment neatly summed up my feelings on this subject.

      I don’t care.

Everybody dies. Some die because they deserve to; others die simply because they come from Minneapolis.

People die all the time in the third world, because life is very cheap there. I feel no particular interest when they do; I certainly feel no obligation to spend money to prevent it from happening, and neither should anyone else.

      • rhywun

No and I am tired of the left’s pretense that they “care” about total strangers. It is contrary to human nature unless they are supreme beings of some sort and I doubt that is the case.
