Today, you get Linsk. Because I maybe 2 hours of sleep last night, my oldest two and the two boys from across the street are shit talking each other about video games – the AC is out at their house until tomorrow and they have a couple of portable units that are just keeping their house from being the shed from Cool Hand Luke – and I can’t be arsed to to fix my typos today.
I’ll be in today, and Tonio tomorrow, because I’m off to north Florida tomorrow. It’s either going to be a lot of fun or a complete shit-show. On the other hand, we’ll have 7 responsible adults, 2 dodgy adults, 8 kids, and a huge stretch of empty beach.
Lets see what we gots for linsk…
Just so’s I’m clear, for a one-time charge of $15B, we can eliminate 11% of the federal workforce? Let’s pass the hat and raise another $60B.
I was just in Real County in April… how cool would it be to check your door/game cameras and see a fucking giraffe in Texas?? Hopefully, she doesn’t get caught by poachers, or its “say goodnight, Gracie!”
Well, shoot. I was planning to go to one of those LA hospices where people live for years. Now it turns out they’re a scam. Who woulda thunk it?? Also, why did it take the Feds 10+ years to figure out that people in these hospices were exceeding the natural life expectancy of healthy people? [Link fixed post-publication. -Editor]
Pinellas County, FL government surrenders Clearwater to the Hubbardites. I promise, if anyone buys the land it will be the Scientologists. Personally, I’m happy to stay out of their weird Potemkin downtown and either take the beach way or the inland way to Dunedin.
When you’re this tired, you just gotta crank Angus and Malcolm and try to get through.

*wonders what giraffe meat tastes like*
Their bones make nice knife handles.
Per the chat-bot: Giraffe meat is edible and described as an intensely flavored, lean red meat that tastes similar to venison or horse meat but with a natural sweetness. While relatively common in certain African countries like South Africa and Namibia, it is rare and often restricted in the United States.
Sounds like moose, which I found delicious.
How does a giraffe stay unnoticed?
Camouflage!
Ninja training!
nobody looked up from their screens.
hat and sunglasses
Two giraffes standing one upon the other in a trench coat?
How many weasels tall is that giraffe? You know, so I’ll know if it’s the right one.
Are the weasels on all fours, standing up, or measured nose to tail?
African or European weasels?
Medicare will pay for me to live in a luxury resort if I promise to die someday?
I got an error page from that link.
By agency, the largest percentage reductions were at USAID, 95 percent; Education, 45.6; SBA, 37; GSA, 36.8; OPM, 33.9; NSF, 32.5; and HUD, 30.5. On the lower end, DHS was down just 0.9 percent; VA, 7.3; Transportation, 7.6; and Justice, 8.8.
Those are rookie numbers. Gotta pump them up.
I am going to beg for money for a dire need. This is truly a matter of life and death.
I got a 404 page.
I assume she wants a wrist watch.
You truncated the ‘l’ off of ‘.html’…

You have very good taste.
$112k?
Can we get something with slightly less flavor for some orders of magnitude less dollars?

I’ve been eyeballing this model for a couple of years now. One of these days…
That’s one of the two watches that Jamie Foxx wore in the Miami Vice movie. This was the other one: https://www.chrono24.com/iwc/aquatimer-chronograph-split-minute-ref-iw3723-titan–id45474426.htm?searchHash=deb2b8cc_fygWyQ&pos=4
Don’t know whether that influences your decision or not, but it’s definitely a Florida kind of watch…
Do I need another watch? No.
Do I want one that conforms to the Deutsches Institut für Normung 8330 standard, because having a DIN standard for pilot watches is just so, very, very German? Of course I do.
A quick site tour showed watches over USD $10,000.
I think she means this (url copied from their website, not sure why her link no workee).

No need to beg, just move to a blue state and start some sort of health care company. Hell, a red state will do, we had a woman in Indiana make millions off autism treatment, most of it legal because she figured out how to game the system.
I fixed the link.
That’s pretty.
I understand women wearing watches.
I do not understand men wearing them.
Men are supposed to work. Watches get in the way of work and become not only hazards but victims of that work.
As a collector of vintage watches, how do you feel about classic cars?
Although I have a few modern watches…
When I have to stick my hands in the vertical mill table or the server rack, I take my wristwatch and bracelet off and put them in my pocket.
Wearing a watch while wrenching on your ride can scratch up the car.
I gave up on the watch after I broke the third glass out of it.
Look at it this way. I can use a $15 plastic digital watch for my work or what I wore today.

Why do I need a watch when I’m already carrying a cell phone?
They are a “pocket watch”.
I can look at a wristwatch discretely or while moving. I don’t have to dig it out of my pocket.
Do I wear one when not working or at some affair? No.
A watch has never gotten in the way of work, no matter if I am using a metal lathe, climbing a utility pole, or rewiring a car/building.
Failure to wear a watch is a sign of someone who cannot be trusted with my time.
$111,500.
Not too shabby

“These victories prove that democratic socialists are building a winning coalition,” NYC-DSA co-chair Grace Mausser said in a statement.
“While the Democratic establishment and MAGA fascists ignore the needs of working people, democratic socialists are speaking to the ever-growing base of voters demanding we end war, abolish ICE, tax the rich, and win universal healthcare.”
There are signs of growing interest outside of New York. Just last week, Democratic primary voters in Washington, D.C., elected Janeese Lewis George, a democratic socialist, to be their next mayor, and earlier this month Los Angeles DSA candidate Nithya Raman advanced to the general election for mayor there.
Plus, after Mamdani’s upset primary win last year, young voters around the country told NPR that they considered him a national leader. Since that victory, the DSA has reported a surge in membership.
It’s just so simple. Why hasn’t anybody tried this before.
Buying votes works?
It’s a great plan, just promise them the world, then you can blame those selfish people who move away when none of it works.
I dunno but seething resentment and hatred sure works wonders.
I wholeheartedly approve the Dems going full-on communist.
Be honest about it, and give the voters exactly what you’re promising. Let’s get this over with sooner rather than later.
I understand the sentiment.
But you are cheering on bloodshed and a vast amount of suffering for those that deserve it and those that don’t.
I almost think we’re beyond any ability to prevent it.
I thought I read that the turnout in the NY primary was low this cycle. But reading the views of some of the ones who were selected… Cheebus, there’s no way anyone should have voted for them.
I almost think we’re beyond any ability to prevent it.
Agreed. But I refuse to wish it to come.
About time to build a wall around that sucker.
Then fill it in with concrete.
Too much CO2 generated doing that.
The hospice link is broken, but here’s a nice rundown of people caught for tens of millions in fraud each. The good part is they’re facing consequences, the nut punch is there are sure to be more that got away with it, and we have a political party trying to convince us this is not a problem.
https://nypost.com/2026/06/23/us-news/trump-crackdown-uncovers-6-5b-in-fraud-and-your-taxes-were-wasted-on-diamonds-ferraris/
I’m noticing a Florida trend here…
Thanks. I fixed the link.
I got a 404 page.
Too late. The operation was not a success.
But even with those high-profile wins, it remains unclear how this blueprint can translate elsewhere in the country, given DSA-backed candidates have yet to pull off a victory outside of a major city. And the embrace of democratic socialism gives Republicans something to campaign against. The National Republican Congressional Committee was quick to release a statement saying the Democratic Party “officially belongs to the socialists.”
Fascists pounce!
The Dems might be destroying their own party, but you can still count on the R’s to fuck up even something this simple.
Reproduction DeLisle Carbine
First the bouncing boobies, now this. All we need is OBE to post some meat-smoking pics and we’ll have the trifecta.
Are we adding DEG to the GoFundMe list along with Mojeaux?
Hmm…..
An obsolete reproduction bolt gun, for more than my Atlas? Nah, thanks anyway. I already have better cheaper stuff for quietly eliminating sentries.
You have very good taste.
Much too gaudy.
Normally, I would agree with you, but for whatever reason, that one just hit all my right buttons.
Those are purty. I have a friend who collects watches, though nowhere near at that price point, so appreciate the beauty of them.
The face is amazing. I’m not a big fan of all the diamonds, but I didn’t really notice them at first.
I like the colors but the diamonds are gross.

A boat named after me!
“Pistoff” – Twin Blown Chrysler 440 Powered Mahogany Speed Boat
Oh, damn, that’s purty.
You ever read is Wooden Boat Magazine? Almost went down that rabbit-hole a couple of times.
Mrs. TOK has a friend from high school who sometimes comes to our house for brunch during the holidays. He lives in Michigan, and builds/maintains those boats for a living. He went to a special school for it. When he shows me pix of what he’s working on, I feel like a fool because I can’t stop saying “wow”.
I used to subscribe. I’ve had a couple of wooden sail boats.
Helluva bass boat, Nick, a couple pedestal seats and some rod holders and we’d be ready to go. Lake by the house has an easy boat landing and probably wouldn’t scuff the mahogany.
In other Florida news, yesterday was the 88th birthday of Marineland, formerly the state’s most popular tourist attraction.
It’s long been overtaken by the Mouse and SeaWorld, but it still has a place in my heart. I visited as a young lad, and my first job after grad school was there.
Weird gig — before the first customers came in, I’d be scrubbing algae off the interior of the enclosures. Then when the gates opened, I would don an old-timey dive suit (complete with copper & brass helmet) and wow the tourists by… feeding the fish and cetaceans.
Five shows a day, six days a week. We were closed on Tuesdays for training porpoises.
Whaled it!
Old-timey diving suit cool af.
Shpip, that experience would make a great article. Please write it up for me.
It fared better than Marineland of the Pacific.
Looks like Marineland Niagara that I saw many ads for in my youth made it all the way to 2024. Nice run.

Local sports radio is still going on about the Giants players putting a Bible verse on their hats. “We’re not looking for special treatment.” Yes you are. You are forcing people to wear the hat. Stop being such whiny bitches and enjoy the game. Of course it would help if the Giants didn’t suck this year.
