Retarded Customer: “How much is a bowl of soup?”
WebDom: “$7”
Retarded Customer: “No. HOW MUCH?”
WebDom: “The size?”
Retarded Customer: “Yes.”
WebDom: “It’s a bowl, so about 24 ounces.”
Retarded Customer: “I don’t know why I asked. I don’t know what that means.”

WebDom (to me): I told her a dozen times today that we don’t have sourdough.
Retarded Waitress: “The customer insisted you’ve been making his BLT on sourdough for a week.”
WebDom: “I literally do not have sourdough. We have never had sourdough. The customer is mistaken or lying to you.”
Retarded Waitress: “He insisted on sourdough so please make it on sourdough.”
Narrator: WebDom makes the food. Retarded Waitress looks at it in the pass.
Retarded Waitress: “Is this sourdough?”
WebDom: “We DO NOT have sourdough.”
Retarded Waitress: /triumphantly points to order screen.

Birthdays today are numerous, and include a guy who was OK in my book; a guy who was transformational; the original Joe Biden; a strong Second Amendment advocate; everybody’s TV mom; a one dimensional clown, but did that dimension very well; a guy whose classic textbook was the bane of my senior year; a guy whose funeral featured the best sign language interpreter ever; a revered piece of shit who wasted remarkable amounts of taxpayer money; the most abused philosopher ever; the original patent troll; a homo frontiersman; another revered guy whose work I find unreadable; a guy who deserves a medal for fucking Barbra Streisand; a lying sack of shit whom we can blame for the lionization of one of our worst presidents; another astronaut but with a bit of a twist; and a brilliant multi-instrumentalist who almost fits the theme of “Them Christians is gonna put us in camps and make us reproduce.”

I will now reproduce Links.

Watch your tax money being frittered away because they won’t try the OMWC Plan.

Fucking floppy-headed beady-eyed hosers.

So who is more reliably retarded, Trump or the Team Blue cats chasing his laser pointer?

Seems like a lot for mediocre food.

In local news, cops love grants and gizmos. “…the cameras are an integral tool for making residents feel safer.”

The ideal Team Blue candidate.

Let’s be honest- it’s a shithole.

Remind me to keep it in my pants the next time I visit France.

Was she headed to Florida?

More Gen Z retardation. Mine are all in boxes in my basement. No K-Pop.

Somehow, this is Elon Musk’s fault because WaPo. The comments are priceless.

I don’t know why, but Pink Floyd songs seem to always adapt well to bluegrass. And man, these guys have to be the finest living bluegrass band. The Old Guy wishes their tour came through these parts.

    What is the OMWC plan?

    • Oy the Billy-Bumbler

I believe it involves $10k and Greta’s tuchus.

Sell Israel anything they want to buy and stay out of the way.

  4. Common Tater

““And when he sends ICE agents to the polls, then we must turn civic action into civil disobedience and take to the streets. Sit in. Protest. Withhold our labor. Everything must be on the table,” Markey urged.”

    That sounds more retarded.

    • slumbrew

      “Withhold our labor”

Markey went straight from law school to the Mass House of Reps, then US Rep then Senate.

He wouldn’t know “labor” if it bit him in the ass.

      • Chafed

He’s spent so much time in government that’s the only labor he would recognize.

      • Threedoor

Just like teachers you should have a career before you can run for political office.

    • DrOtto

“Withhold our labor.” Oh no, who will pour the coffee then?

  5. Sean

Maybe you should have sourdough. It sounds popular.

    Also, hot peppers. 🌶️

    • Gender Traitor

      Hot pepper sourdough!

        Genius!

      • DrOtto

Schlotskys has jalapeño cheddar sourdough. It’s surprisingly bland.

      • Gender Traitor

The last Schlotzsky’s in Ohio is way up in Maumee, just outside Toledo. I miss them so much! 😭

If we ever get up that way again, we’ll have to go there instead of (or in addition to) Tony Packo’s.

      • Aloysious

Spicy pickles for me, thank you. Emphasis on *spicy*.

  6. Grumbletarian

    a guy who was transformational

    Happy birthday Peter Cullen?

  7. rhywun

So who is more reliably retarded, Trump or the Team Blue cats chasing his laser pointer?

I think the answer is pretty obvious, at least between him and Markey.

    • (((Jarflax

Yes, the answer is obviously us, because we are the ones paying for all of it, and receiving all the misery.

  8. DEG

She also keeps stealing all my old emo and pop-punk CDs, but don’t tell her I told you or she’ll be mean to me.

She’ll be mean to you? WTF?

  9. Common Tater

“Remind me to keep it in my pants the next time I visit France.”

    You’ll be fine.

“Roughly 82 million new infections occur worldwide each year among people aged 15 to 49.”

    • R C Dean

So it shows up in people who have already aged out of OMWC’s preferred demo?

    • rhywun

Come for the enricher food trucks, stay for the exotic diseases they’re bringing in!

LMAO at a headline in the sidebar there:
“Coldplay Slashed Its Carbon Footprint Nearly In Half. Can The World Cup Do The Same?”

    • Threedoor

      So OMWC is Ben Franklin.

  10. rhywun

    The ideal Team Blue candidate.

    lol Knew it.

Did you hear him speak? Not even trying. That is a transvestite, not “transgender”.

  11. rhywun

    Let’s be honest- it’s a shithole.

You’ll get no argument from me but TBH I was rooting for Egypt. Argentina are a bunch of thugs.

    • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

Oddly, South American soccer used to be pretty elegant, while European (and especially the Dutch) was much more thuggish.

  12. Common Tater

“Records do not indicate why Maxwell was, as one cop remarked, traveling “buck naked” at 9:40 PM.”

    Sounds a bit early.

    • DrOtto

Hey “Buck Naked” is George Costanza’s porn name.

      • Old Man With Candy

Also a recurring character on Hill Street Blues.

      • Gender Traitor

+ 1 (at least) appearance by an arrestee who identified himself to Belker as Curtis Interruptus.

    • Threedoor

My home town had a gal that drove topless all the time.

When you saw the early 70s blue Ford cargo van you knew it was her.

  13. ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

So, denial is just a river of tears in Egypt?

    • Ted S.

I’m sorry to say that when I got to this point of the article:

People, nations, aren’t supposed to lose like Egypt does, by embracing loserdom as a collective gestalt deployed to blame others for the failures that are only their own.

I couldn’t help but think of Nephilium and the Cleveland fan-base.

      • R C Dean

See, that’s how you sneak in a hit on “social justice” in a sports article.

  14. R C Dean

the war that the U.S. and Israel began more than four months ago.

There’s an interesting question. When did armed hostilities between (a) Iran and Israel and (b) Iran and the US begin?

    • Ted S.

You can make an argument that Iran also started a war against Lebanon with its backing of Hezbollah.

    • Semi-Spartan Dad

I’ve been having trouble following the similar logic that Israel is responsible for the current continuation. Nevermind that Iran has has been firing on commercial ships and attacking all of their neighbors. Repeatedly.

Vance’s fixation on Israel while Iran acts like a rabid animal has lost me. There’s an argument the US shouldn’t be involved, which I can respect, but this is like the Oct 7 moral equivalency all over again.

      • R C Dean

Vance’s groyper flirtation is puzzling/concerning. A couple of years ago, I would have bet on him being the Red candidate for President in 2028. Marco, of all people, though, has been more impressive. Of course, he also has a job that gives him opportunities to actually do stuff, which I’m sure helps.

      • DEG

        Vance’s groyper flirtation is puzzling/concerning.

Vance, Tucker Carlson, and Charlie Kirk are all friends.

I watched Tucker Carlson’s interview with Charlie Kirk before Kirk was murdered.

I don’t remember if Kirk talked about Israel in that interview. In the immediate aftermath of his murder, people were talking about Kirk and Israel. One thing that came out is Charlie Kirk noticed a drop in support for Israel among young people across the political spectrum. I’m going from memory here on his letter to Netanyahu about this drop is that supporters Israel are going to have to engage young people, sell support for Israel, and calling them anti-semites is just not going to work.

In the Tucker Carlson interview, Charlie Kirk did talk about Socialism and young people. He has noticed that, more so than with past generations, a feeling of being cut out of the economy. He saw this as the reason for the rise in Socialism among the young. Socialists are offering free shit. Kirk sees Mandami as very dangerous because disaffected young people will eat his shit up.

Combine these two: “Why is the government spending money on Israel that could be spent here fixing the economy?”

I’ve seen surveys showing support for Israel only has a majority among the Boomer generation. Gen X is split. Younger generations all have a majority not supporting Israel.

Vance sees which way the winds are blowing.

      • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

Israel is responsible due to the fact that they are JOOOOOOS!

And that is all you really need to know.

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

Nonsense, who bombed who first? There’s enough bad blood that both sides have a legitimate argument as to their strikes being a response to aggression but this issue makes many blind to nuance. Also, we violated our own end of the MOU so there’s that.

      • Semi-Spartan Dad

The problem with that though DEG is this isn’t really about Israel. Iran is attacking commercial vessels and want to impose a toll on global traffic. It’s not clear to me how the dead Indian sailors have any relation to Israel.

Iran isn’t bombing Israel. They are attacking their surrounding neighbors. After putting down 40,000 of their own unarmed civilians. This is rabid animal behavior.

The US could and should cutoff all foreign funding to every nation tomorrow, including Israel. But none of that has anything to do with the above.

      • Semi-Spartan Dad

Yes Stinky, the moral equivalency argument pokes its head up here every so often too. Unfortunate.

      • DEG

The problem with that though DEG is this isn’t really about Israel.

I’m responding to Dean on Vance.

On Iran: I really don’t care much about the Middle East, but I agree the Iran War is no longer about Israel. I’ll note that Israel having influence over Trump came up in the Joe Rogan interview of Vance, and when asked if Trump would have attacked Iran without Israeli influence, Vance initially dodged. When pressed pressed, Vance said yes. But, again, we’re beyond that now.

  15. Common Tater

I read that a bunch of fans who don’t own turntables bought the latest Taylor Swift record on vinyl.

Also, two things I really dislike: Pink Floyd and bluegrass. And, what, did they have a candle light laser show to go with that hootenanny?

    • Furthest Blue pistoffnick (370HSSV)

I really dislike: Pink Floyd and bluegrass.

It’s amazing just how wrong some people’s opinions can be. ;^)

      • Threedoor

I used to hate Pink Floyd.
Still don’t really care for bluegrass but I like the sound of a banjo.

  18. rhywun

60 percent of Gen Z listeners said they most often listen to music from the 1990s and older

    lol Bullshit.

    • Common Tater

What age is Gen Z again? I can never remember.

      • rhywun

No idea but I peaked in the 90s and even I cannot say that I “most often listen to music from the 1990s and older”. The majority of the music I listen to is post-2000.

      • Ted S.

        I do.

Of course, I also listen to a substantial amount of classical music, and am a fan of movies disproportionately made before I was born.

      • UnCivilServant

“An enhanced photograph published by the National Transportation Safety Board shows the aftermath of a fatal crash in which a Tesla Model 3 barreled into a home in Katy, Texas, killing a 76-year-old grandmother last month.

The NTSB said the driver, who police said had previously been using Tesla’s Full Self-Driving software as he made DoorDash deliveries, overrode those driver-assistance features and fully pressed the accelerator, crashing into the home at more than 70 mph. The residential area had a speed limit of 30 miles per hour, the NTSB said….

I think I read the family sued Tesla within a day or two. Wonder if they’ll drop the suit.

    • UnCivilServant

Nope, they’ll just pivot to a different argument claiming the deep pockets to be liable.

    • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

About every decade we have some sort of instant acceleration panic, which of course leads to more regulation.

For context, Salamanca has more pot dispensaries per capita than any other place on the planet. I mean, there’s three on every corner and two on the block in between. And incredibly cheap: $20 ounces, $15 vapes.

    * And there is extra super retarded hot at korean restaurants but maybe that is a cultural thing. But goddamn at korean restaurants i need to wait 10 minutes before i can eat the soup.

What is the official glibertarian prefference in alcohol in wine? There is a producer i like but they got out a new furmint at 15.2% . That is way to much for white wine.

As i get older i like my wine lower alcohol. Strangely i like my whisky higher alcohol, prefferably cask strength

I am getting that way now. But it took until my 60s.

That’s way too much for any non-dessert wine. One more reason I gave up drinking stuff from California and Australia. Cool climate is where it’s at.

At least 40% for any grape-derived alcohol. Post distillation you smell less of the rot.

I am at a restaurant and the waitress has a ridiculously short dress and very nice legs. But a very youthful face, based on face she looks like 17 18. It makes me feel creepy. Anyhoo. Hot as balls today. 35 C 45% hum. But the beer is cold.

    Poisoning the well

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer who allegedly fatally shot a Colombian man in Maine on Monday was prone to violence and held racist beliefs, according to some of the people who were close to him.

Ashley Brouillette told NPR her ex-husband, David Brouillette, was the officer who fatally shot Joan Durán Guerrero four times during an attempted traffic stop in Biddeford, Maine, on Monday. She said she found out he was the officer responsible when he called her on Wednesday, asking her to vouch for his character.

“He asked me to basically talk good in his character, not to talk bad about him. And if I couldn’t not talk bad about him, then just not to talk at all to anybody,” she told NPR. “And I told him that I was not going to lie for him. He asked me not to talk about the abuse in our marriage. And I told him again I was not going to lie for him.”

The guy is obviously a degenerate racist just looking for a chance to execute a brown person. Why else would he be working for ICE?

    • Q Continuum

I have no idea what happened between them, but I would wager that an ex-spouse is likely not a very reliable witness when it comes to opinions on a person’s character. Further, “trauma” and “abuse” are two terms that have been traumatically abused to such an extent that they’re essentially meaningless at this point.

      Stay classy, NPR.

If the ex-wife is trashing him you know he’s a piece of garbage.

Ex wives and women don’t lie. #BelieveAllWomen.

      Relieve all womyn.
Ex wives have no axes to bring.

Buying CDs with no way to play them does seem silly. I see no mention in the article of the idea that, if you don’t own physical media, you don’t own shit. No idea if that is actually informing purchasing decisions amongst the ‘utes, but just this morning, the wife reads me an article on how some streaming service has immediately and without prior notice dropped all access to Studio Canal productions that users had “purchased.” No explanation, apology or refund. It seems like the kids can’t help but notice that sort of thing.

I only buy and download mp3s. In some sense, I “own” them.

But yeah, “streaming” is for suckers.

      • Threedoor

iTunes has erased hundreds of songs and entire albums from my library randomly.

        I don’t trust mp3s either.

“Infantino has many opinions on violence in soccer, but seemingly none on gender-based violence. This stands in stark contrast with other sports associations like the NFL, which in recent years has committed itself to addressing domestic and other violence through its Personal Conduct Policy. So does Major League Baseball. Its policy combines investigation, discipline and mandatory education. FIFA’s lack of comparable universal standards is not just a governance failure. It’s also a missed opportunity for prevention.”

That’s because FIFA deals with wildly different cultures.
