The county recently began a long-planned replacement of the water infrastructure on our street and a couple of adjacent streets. Other than a couple of piles of gravel, there hadn’t yet been much effect on our end of the street. Last night, well after dark, I saw a county utility truck (apparently they get GREEN flashing lights on top) head up the street, and shortly afterward discovered that our water service had gone screwy, fluctuating between little to no pressure and spitting/spurting with off-and-on noticeable discoloration. No notices on the front door handle, so I’m still not sure if it’s safe to use. I brushed my teeth with bottled water.
At least we got a free Brita water filter out of the county before the project started. Might be time to fire it up. I’m not yet at the point of starting to dig a well.
