Holy crap, the Astros are back to .500. With a -41 run difference. That’s simply amazing. This is also amazing. But unsurprising. And I guess that’s it for sports. Hurry up, training camps. I need football.
Good. Somebody should fight this nonsense. The law is a grotesque overreach. You’ll note it’s biggest proponent (and the guy who signed it into law) recently pardoned a child rapist and he’s now attacking Musk for saying it’s overbroad and basically outlaws parody.
Of course Cornyn is holding it up. That asshole can’t be put out of a job soon enough.
At least find out if it can be done. As much as I hate it, I think he could invoke it by claiming he’s got no immunity from state-level charges. But I’d find out by asking the SC to weigh in.
What an idiot. You’re supposed to do this in a subway and violently assault people. Then you get released without even having to post bond. Also do it while having a much darker tan.
As much as I loathe guys like this, I think this is an overreach. Maybe a lawyer can chime in on there legality of it.
What an asshole. Throw him in prison for a looooong time, please.
I hope they played Zeppelin the whole time. And do so when riding into battle in the future.
He looks guilty to me. Sorry, but physiognomy remains undefeated in my world.
Damn, this guy can’t catch a break. Come up with a more enjoyable way of spending that money than doing crimes, dummy.
You’d have to bomb India to accomplish what you’re trying to accomplish. And I’d probably be ok with that.
Always love to hear these guys. Such fun music. And this one especially. Enjoy them both.
And enjoy this lovely Thursday, dear friends.

He looks guilty to me.
Paywalled.
I only clicked a preview, but I’m with Sloopy on this.
First thing I thought was that he looks a bit like Tom Homan.
What an asshole. Throw him in prison for a looooong time, please.
If a good-looking woman had done it, people would immediately come to her defense.
Maybe rename the “Police Explorer” program?
Yep Ted.
Granted the guy was twice her age. Had he been 20-24 it would have been different.
Either way he should have been fired for it.
She’s 16. I do not give a fuck. And don’t care how old he is, either.
That being uttering the badword no doubt.
Seems that’s the one crime in NYC than can land you in jail and keep you there. He should went with a soft “a” instead of the hard “r”.
I doubt whitey can get away with nigga either, not today.
23 and me says I’m 0.2% North African and 0.5% jewzian.
I get the nigger pass.
As much as I loathe guys like this, I think this is an overreach. Maybe a lawyer can chime in on there legality of it.
Maybe “free beer when Trump dies” isn’t the reason for the license revocation.
I figured as much. That guy probably has enough irons in the fire to go away to jail. This is just what the state has seen so far.
And yet these are the people who will insist the prosecutions of Trump and his supporters is in no way political.
I wonder if a study has been done to determine why leftists are such hateful pigs. I should write a grant proposal.
I am in! Let’s get some free money!
Bangstad called the planned revocation an “absurd act of heavy-handedness,” suggesting his tax infractions were too minor for the punishment of being shut down.
I thought progressives loved taxes?
That’s for rich people to pay, as defined as having X+1 dollars, where X=the amount of money in my account today.
The law restricting the crossing of state lines without a permit is a bad law.
And the guy is a moron.
Double waterfall shower heads.

Nice euphemism?
I got scammed by one of those hotel booking places once. Exactly once. I triple check my web address every time now. Assholes.
Yup. I always make sure to check the url to be sure I am on the Hotel’s website.
I guess my boring habit of using IHG hotels is to my advantage, since their website is easy to remember. (They own the Holiday Inn Brand)
I’ve found that you get the same price there nowadays AND you have better legal protections if something changes with your plans.
“There” being where?
I either use the Bonvoy app or the Amex travel app to book everything. Half the shit you see on the first page of an internet search are scam sites.
It’s what happens when you have entire buildings full of people in the subcontinent boosting search results for the scam that’s paying them.
Lawsuits won’t fix this. JDAMs will.
MIRVs
Remember when Google returned a search for what you typed in the search bar?
Those were the days.
We thought they’d never end.

Not waiting for league losses to pile up eh?
Suing Booking dot com for those scams strikes me as just like suing Google or Elon for kids offing themselves – i.e. a complete overreach.
They’re the ones with the money.
But you knew that.
I should sue Trivago for their website not working but nevertheless spamming me with endless emails.
Went to Booking instead and smooth sailing.
They should sue India.
Or just bomb it. All of it.
Well, Boss-Boss had a sit-down with me yesterday. I may just have these next two days left there. The whole affair is remarkably dispiriting. None of this is ‘hard’ for me. Just tricky, and it shouldn’t be. I also have until Aug 1 to sign up for their healthcare, which they haven’t pounced on to get me started.
Do your best, y’all. I’ll try to do the same, but only at 100%. I really think I’m thinking myself into a corner, here. I shouldn’t do that.
‘Well, Boss-Boss had a sit-down with me yesterday. I may just have these next two days left there. ‘
What happened? I thought you were doing well at your new job.
I’m not learning fast enough. This gig just isn’t that hard! Just complicated.
Evan is concerned. Deeply.
Rotten fish sauce that has long stunk up a small Canadian town is finally being removed
Who wants some aged fish sauce?
The Romans loved the stuff.
I was about to say, it’s probably a priceless delicacy somewhere.
Not going to lie, I’ve always wanted to get a bottle of that stuff to try. History nerd in me.
How would you tell if it’s rotten?
It smells like fresh fish.
That’s the thing, I don’t think it does go rotten. I think it just continues to ferment. Now it would get ultra-stinky.
It starts to smell like pussy when it goes bad
Not stated in the story is the root of the problem: the Atlantic Canadian attitude that the government should solve an their problems.
The people of St. Mary’s expected the government to solve their problem.
When the company dissolved, they expected the government to clean up after them.
Is the same as when the fishery collapsed: “Well, I’m a fisherman (or work in a fish processing plant or whatever). I guess the government has to pay me for the next 25 years.”
I read this to my wife and her reaction was “Canadians wanting government to do everything for them.”
She’s a good woman.
And no one thought to open the valve on any of these tanks twenty years ago and simply let the weather do its job?
This is how Tabasco was invented. Pepper magnate had warehouse full of barrels of peppers ready to be shipped when the civil war reached his operation. When he returned, the barrels were all ruined. Fermented.
So he made hot sauce.

‘Of course Cornyn is holding it up. That asshole can’t be put out of a job soon enough.’
Has Cornyn ever done anything good and decent?
He’s demonstrating why he got primaried in the first place.
The brewery is probably in deep shit because of their distribution practices vs their speech. They have been banned from distribution in their own state, MN and IL because *checks notes* their politics. My guess is something else is going on because I don’t see those states having a problem with this guys message and this is what happens when a news story only gets one side of the story and it’s from the aggrieved. That said, this is the likely the result of stupid archaic liquor laws, and since these types like daddy gov’t to protect us from evil KKKorpurationz, I’m fine with how this is playing out.
The guy also just looks like a smug asshole, building on the other physiognomy post… filed under getting what he asked for good and hard, unless proven otherwise.
Agreed.
Proximate cause for losing his license is failure to pay taxes – looks like it’s related to that beer that was seized (canned out of state, brought in state but taxes not paid, apparently).
I’m sure byzantine liquor laws are a big part of it but it look to mostly be not paying off the government.
I suspect that nearly all of the bars and brewpubs in the United States are playing fast and loose with the law in one way or another. The regulations and tax burdens involved just don’t allow them to play it straight.
And I would suspect that 90% of those bars are in favor of more gov’t regulation in every other part of our lives.
“What an idiot. You’re supposed to do this in a subway and violently assault people. Then you get released without even having to post bond. Also do it while having a much darker tan.”
Ah yes, our wonderful two-tiered justice system. No where int he article is this nutter accused of actually hurting anyone but could spend 15 years in jail for it? That is crazy on its own.
No where int he article is this nutter accused of actually hurting anyone
He caused lifelong trauma with words.
Truly a fate worse than death for his victims.
In NYC, silence is violence, hate speech is violence, and pushing someone in front of a train is a slap on the wrist.
Not just lifelong trauma. Generational trauma.
Damn, this guy can’t catch a break.
What, he won powerball, he caught his break. He’s fumbling the bag hard.
He only won $167m, if he took the lump sum, that’s probably only about $45m after taxes. How’s a guy supposed to live off of that?
He’s also made himself a bit or a target. Anyway, not that shocking that a man who plays the lottery isn’t making the best decisions.
If he won the lottery, he did make a good decision to play.
Got to work this morning and Opera wouldn’t open. It wouldn’t show up in task manager, I tried to uninstall it to reinstall it, and it wouldn’t uninstall. I tried to install over the top, and it seemed to, but still won’t open. All my non-work related browsing (Glibs, youtubes, news and medial portals) was done in Opera. This kind of sucks, but I can still use Chrome, but dislike it due to the Google association.
*medical portals (stupid edit button)
I used to like Opera back in the day. But now all of them these days are more or less clones of Chrome.
I installed Opera on my Nintendo DS a lifetime ago.
I saw Phantom live once.
That sucks.
I’ve been using this de-Googlized Chrome
https://helium.computer/
and I’m pretty happy with it.
Is Firefox an option?
Probably, but Slum’s Helium suggestion looks pretty good, too.
Firefox is not Chrome based. It’s pretty good, you can add on things like Ublock Origin to block ads. I got frustrated with Brave recently and did the switch. I am pleased.
Always a fun morning when it starts out with an e-mail from my new co-worker, Swastika.
What country is Swastika from?
India. As is Stalin.
We should probably keep her away from my other co-worker, Stalin.
Maybe they’ll get it right this time.

Still pretty damn angry about my encounter with the youths last night. Mainly because dogs don’t know how to take that shit. Took him out later that night to a place he goes frequently and he was worked up about every male. Combined with the shit with the “roommate’s” sorry ass…
I’d love to run into the little shits again.
If I make the news, I’ll make sure to give Glibs a shout-out. In code though. Something about Firsting all over their faces.
I just kinda figured that Craig Melvin was the rock thrower…

My legal council recommends that I not first on any tweens face as I am not a 25 year old female teacher but a 48 year old male blue collar guy.
They scared you because they’re real Firsters.
There’s no fear as much as I don’t typically run around responding to tweens or even acknowledging their retarded existence. You know until they start throwing shit at my dog who I’m holding back on a leash for their safety and who relies on me to protect him.
Kind of the real issue.
Dog could have taken the little shits. On his own.
That would really anger me too. I hate punks. Do not risk your noble Firsting mission for these useless street punks.
Question for the Glib lawyers: Now that we have evidence Fauci was straight up lying about everything during COVID, is it possible for people to join in class action suits against him? I know Trump has immunity for anything he does in his official duties as President, but does Fauci have any such protections? If they can’t (or won’t) file criminal charges, civil suits have a much lower burden of proof, and I’d love to see him die a pauper.
Thanks for the laugh.
I’m sure the courts would say no one has standing, and besides, qualified immunity.
I just pinged Trashy with your question.
His answer:
“ Depends on the extent of his pardon from Biden. His sovereign immunity could possibly be overcome due to his bad faith dealings, but that pardon is going to be unassailable unless they have video proof of it being signed by the autopen while Biden is in the background saying “No! Stop! I don’t want him to be pardoned!”
I don’t know that area of law very well, but I assume it sweeps in civil claims related to the pardoned crimes.”
Thanks! I didn’t realize the pardon would affect civil suits too.
I don’t see that pardon being overturned either. It is common for a President to say “go ahead and sign those 200 papers with the autopen.” It might not have been done with pardons before now, but it can be argued he couldn’t physically sign that many pages so he gave his permission. They could easily scare up a dozen people to claim they were in the room and heard him order it.
The question of, can you pardon someone for “everything” without specifying any crimes, seems to need a look.
Would video of him drooling and staring off into space suffice?
I would like if recent pardons resulted in reforms. It is unlikely because the tribes like the power and the amendment would likely be retarded.
Pardons do not bar civil suits.
Look, if we’re going to fantasize about any government shithead being held accountable – let’s go for heads on pikes on the Mall, because we aren’t going to even get any lesser form.
“A Louisville high school student was shot dead by a teen gunman – just three months after he was stabbed trying to protect a 12-year-old girl who was being sexually harassed.
Da’Jon Hayes-Burr, 15, died from gunshot wounds after being shot in Shawnee – a neighborhood in western Louisville, Kentucky – on Saturday night, with his family describing the killing as “tragic and senseless,” WAVE reported.
A 14-year-old boy has since been charged with murder over the shooting.”

Minnesota can’t get their shit together, so they keep banning stuff on the internet.
If they can’t ban gambling, they can’t ban prediction markets. It’s funny as fuck that the gambling outfits are already angling for regulatory capture and politicians are willing to oblige them.
Uffda. Misinformation!
We do not always try to ban everything.
Sometimes we just want to tax everything
You cannot be serious!
African immigrant in England answers why he deserves a free house from England.

But I’m not sure his grasp of English is good enough for that.
We have to destroy your rights to save them
In an emailed statement, Maye Quade said the law protects First Amendment rights, adding, “It’s sad that the creators of nudification technology would rather protect their ill-gotten profits than protect us from image-based sexual abuse.“
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, a Democrat, wrote in a post across social media, “See you in court, creep.”
The best way to protect your rights is to not exercise them. Don’t press your luck.
They keep twisting the language and inventing new crimes.
I’ve been using AI to generate nudes of myself and then Firsting off to it so that I can get in on the inevitable class action lawsuit.
Not sure if the second part of the project was wholly necessary, but I wanted to be safe to protect my time investment.
What if when the AI escapes the sandbox despite all guardrails, it just sits around generate nude images of attractive women all day?
I mean, obviously AI will think like a man.

No idea who she is.
I’m not going to say she’s even remotely ugly, but she has that sort of fake blond bimbo look I’m not a fan of. Know plenty of guys are.
I agree, too many of them look the same.
She fits the template of most women in the Trump admin.
“The first female mayor of St Paul, Kaohly Her, is reportedly under investigation for sexual harassment following a complaint filed by the Minnesota city’s police chief.
City leaders have contracted an outside law firm to conduct an independent inquiry into the allegations that Her, a Democrat who was elected in November, sent inappropriate messages to employees, including several members of the police department, the New York Times and NBC News said.
The outlets obtained a 1 April letter to the city attorney, Irene Kao, written by Chris Madel, a lawyer representing St Paul’s police chief, Axel Henry, claiming that Her, a former state congresswoman born in Laos, engaged in a prolonged campaign of harassment against a number of workers “using one or more mobile phones”.”

That city is going to get what they voted for good and hard.
Leave us rural Minnesodan’s out of this fire cleansing, please.
OK, you too. Sorry anyone I forgot.
I was pointing out that the rural parts of the state are salvagable.

Besides Jimbo, PONick and me there are few regular Americans left.

A female mayor named Her? I thought AI was better at generating stories than this.
“The Trump administration’s plans to stymie and defund bike lane plans in the US, on the unusual basis that they are DEI tools, will hurt efforts to improve roadway safety, non-motorized transportation advocates say.
The transportation secretary, Sean Duffy, posted on X this month that he had redirected $1.73bn allocated for “Biden-era DEI pet projects” to “America’s actual backbone: ROADS, BRIDGES, AND SHIPPING PORTS”.”
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jul/30/bike-lanes-defund-trump-administration-dei
How are bike lanes DEI?
If anything they’re the opposite, since only upper middle-class whites use them.
In NYC it’s mostly food service delivery people (i.e. not upper middle-class whites) but I recognize that NYC is not like most American cities.
Good.
Now do roundabouts, light rail, busses, ADA ramps, and “art” requirements as part of federal road projects.
Apparently roundabouts, like high speed internet and EV refueling points, are a requirement here. No M’N’Sotan should have to live more than 15 miles from a roundabout.
But roundabouts are actually good.
I’m guessing that bike lanes are a small part of the “Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (Raise) program” that is being redirected, but the Guardian is just seizing on the bike lanes.
I like this. Now let’s see it actually happen.
The way I read the constitution out of the three the feds only have authority over ports, and establishing postal routes, which have long been established.
Yeah… I’d rather hear him saying his department is shut down, effective immediately.
Fair enough, but that battle (roads and bridges as federal infrastructure projects) has long since been lost. I’ll settle for not spending that tax money on clearly stupid bullshit like bike lanes.
My money is on “We are going to do Good Thing X”, followed by Good Thing X not actually happening.
How about redirecting that money back to the taxpayers where it belongs?
Putting your thumb on the scale isn’t acceptable even when it pleases your base.
Two ways:
1. they give special status and funding for something vastly disproportionate to their population/usage ’cause the government luvz them.
2. The Biden admin declared they were when they passed the funding in the first place.
Today in gay news – Democrat in Maine was just called by a “Faggocrat” by another elderly Democrat who has been voting Democrat since 1965. Think it was about him telling the people in the room how proud he was that the state had taken int asylum seekers and refugees.
I have to admit that the old man who has just voted blue since 1965 and still thinks it’s the 1965 Democratic party is probably more delusional. Time to walk on the party was a few decades ago there buddy.
Agreed. That old duffer’s head was up his own hole a few decades too long. I suppose there was no video? Because that sounds hilarious.
“It’s an old joke often shared by conservatives on X. The only problem is that there was no Bud Light commercial starring Mulvaney. But factual accuracy was never really the point. The point was to shame a reporter by misidentifying and weaponizing a person’s identity, using two women’s faces to deliver one insult: that neither of them is quite what she claims to be, and neither is pretty, feminine or smiley enough to matter.”

“Look no further than Megyn Kelly, who famously parlayed a high-profile clash with Trump in 2016 as a Fox News reporter into a massive, multi-million-dollar (and short-lived) NBC contract only months later. Now a right-wing podcaster, Kelly went on her podcast this week and rationalized the attacks on Collins while complaining that the CNN star is “never nice to the president.” Using Trumpian language, Kelly argued that Collins is “always nasty” and that her questions carry “the most negative bent you could possibly go into the questioning with,” dismissing the president’s vulgar insults as mere “jazz” that all leaders throw around.”
Trumpian language?
I have to ask – who on earth gives a fuck? Let all the media courtiers fight it out like hookers over the last crack rock.
Salon readers very much give a fuck.

The Trump administration is ending subsidies that helped keep costs down for Medicare drug coverage. The change could mean higher Medicare Part D premiums for millions of beneficiaries in 2027.
Under the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, Medicare patients’ out-of-pocket drug spending was capped at $2,000 starting in 2025, and it changed the way insurers pay for drugs.
That meant that while seniors would have to pay less at the pharmacy counter and therefore have easier access to expensive prescription drugs, insurers would be on the hook for more of the bill.
Millions will die.
Medicare should not exist.
The end.
“Woke Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson is now proposing a ballot referendum that would seek financial compensation and “reparations” for communities impacted by recent ICE immigration raids in the city. Oil palm trees are native to Africa. But today, about 85% of all oil is produced from trees grown in Indonesia and Malaysia. Environmental groups have raised concerns about palm oil farming because it has led to deforestation as well as habitat destruction for orangutans, elephants, and rhinos.
Further, the burning of forests to create palm plantations releases “greenhouse” gases into the air and adds to global warming. Some methods used in palm oil farming can also cause water pollution and soil erosion.
I don’t give a fuck about any of that. Is it as bad for me as rapeseed oil?
So WebMD has been taken over by Salon writers?
Bad but maybe less bad.

The ESPN article fails to mention that the psycho Seattle WNBA team owner was screaming at a couple of teenage girls, nor does it mention what the psycho owner said.
Didn’t give us a picture of her either.
