We had a director retire a couple weeks ago. Of course that means they hired a new one. That person starts this week and for whatever reason our AVP puts out a message to the entire department they are joining the team once IT builds the profile. I don’t have an issue with this, to be honest.
My problem is that everyone then hits reply all.
There are something like 50 people in this department, and on any given day I get between 30-40 emails. Today I have that many just from reply all. Its not hard to identify the newb, and send the welcome to the newb specifically instead of blowing up everyone’s email over bullshit. Thank you for attending my Ted Talk.
¡enalces!
In the off chance you are traveling to Mexicali, and lets be real, even I won’t go there. The state department wants you to reconsider.
Why to I assume this is a way to drop the price of beef before the midterms? Whatever, I’m going to eat it anyways….
…Not that higher prices as a downstream effect of trade issues is going to stop anytime soon.
El Presidenté Mujer has opinions on a cartel linked governor returning to office. Speaking of the Sinaloa Cartel, they had money laundering operations shut down recently …in Cambodia.
Not related directly to Mexicans, but you’re probably interested in this.
Its been a while since we had some Poppy.

Poppy is the new Reba or was it Dolly who passed?
That was Dolly
Way to ruin the lame attempt at a joke that only resided in my head MS
“I only replied all to tell everyone to stop replying to all.”
Reply all to explain how everyone is replying all and then replying to the person telling us how to not reply all the same instructions is usual FedGov line of how it goes
I saw that once in the VA. It was sent to the entire facility while Delloite consultants were analyzing the facility operations. I had to babysit them while they were at the facility. They were flabbergasted when it took 3 days for them to stop doing that.

Is open road bullfighting just a rebranded running of the bulls?
I root for the bulls.
I went to a bullfight in Toledo, and by chance sat next to the family of one of the bullfighters. He did not make a clean kill, and the crowd was furious. It got kind of uncomfortable. It can be hard to not root for the bulls.

They were escorted off the plane, but then returned to it, the official said. Their whereabouts are unknown.
So the plane took them on a magical mystery tour?
Dave Ramsey is a fucking retard.
Nah, just simple. For people that need simplification in their financial lives.
He’s gotten dumb since he’s been setting his idiot daughter up to tank his legacy.
Wait, what – did I miss a link?
Didn’t see it either but Dave’s been retarded recently.
Backing up his daughter when she told some gal to not sell the Taylor Swift tickets she got for her daughter and go to the concert rather than lay off student loan debt with the windfall.
He was Basicly endorsing idolatry and a stupid financial move to back up his retarded Swifty daughter.
Coming from the clown who’s spent 25 years telling people to pay off their debt in order of balance rather than interest rate because it’s better to have the emotional satisfaction of closing the accounts (and thereby tanking your credit rating) than to save thousands of dollars in interest, I find myself less than stunned.
I don’t care about credit rating even though mine hovers around 800 and I’ve never had more than two credit cards, one small car loan and no mortgage.
I think Dave is right on the momentum part. As far as not caring about interest rates he’s wrong. For simplicity sake as he’s genially talking to stupid people the size of the debt increments works. Otherwise it’s like trying to explain percapita to a leftist.
Clark Howard makes Dave Ramsey look like a spendthrift, just sayin’.
I like to keep it simple and avoid Mexico altogether. There is nothing for me there anyway.
Went to Mexico as a kid.
With a gun in the car.
For like 20 minutes.
So glad the border guard didn’t shake us down.
As a 80s/90s SoCal kid…Mexico was a weekend fun trip.

Do people still go to Mexico for off label medical treatments?
half-off trans surgery?
Cut it off, but don’t replace it ??
“While you are still not, and will never be, a woman, you are now eligible to run China for the Emperor.”
Yes. I have some in-laws that went to Mexico for stomach stapling, and after her weight loss, one went back to get the excess skin trimmed and her boobs and butt lifted. Supposedly it was a very spa-like atmosphere. No thanks.
Actually yes, the poster child for medical tourism is Turkey but you can get a number of procedures done in Mexico. Dental clinics are everywhere there, and lot of people go there for procedures that are not approved by the FDA, like stem cell treatments.
Back in the day, Mexican dentists worked out of the garages of their homes in Houston. I can only assume that’s probably still going on.
Psst. I want some lidocaine. The gooooood lidocaine, ya know?
Minor inconvenience
General Motors is in hot water with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Office of Defects Investigation. The issue? Engines the automaker previously supplied with a recall fix continue to have catastrophic failures. So, the ODI team has opened a new investigation that specifically targets the L87, GM’s 6.2-liter V-8, which was the subject of recall 25V-274.
The recall, which covered 597,630 trucks and SUVs in the United States, was initiated because of manufacturing defects with the crankshaft and connecting rods that could lead to a catastrophic engine failure. At the time, GM’s remedy involved engine inspections, and for units that passed scrutiny, a higher oil viscosity, a new oil fill cap, and an oil filter replacement. Those that failed were replaced. Unfortunately, neither solution seems to have fixed the underlying issue.
Don’t you have to identify the problem before you can fix it?
They looked how Toyota is handling problems with its new V6 for guidance.
In Toyota’s case if you have hybrid powertrain as many do, it’s not recalled as you have propulsion and can safely pull over.
JFC.
Toyota also has an issue with the differential side of the transaxles in the V6 Highlander and Lexus RX350. They want to pretend they don’t since most are barely making it out of warranty before taking a shit.
Huh, learning about water source for Panama canal was actually interesting.

A Dalton man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly stole a fire truck while his house was burning to the ground.
Fire officials said they were called to the home in the area of Faraway Road and Mountain Road early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters from multiple agencies, along with New Hampshire State Police, responded to the fire.
Officials said the resident of the home, identified as Nestor Roman, 30, was not in the building at the time of the fire, but he was accused of jumping into a Whitefield fire engine and driving away.
+1 seemed like a perfect insurance scam
“A Dalton man was arrested…”
Hey, now. Dalton is *the* man! Punch that fire truck and make it apologize! Something he’d do down at *sunglasses on* The Double Deuce! Only if, you know, the fire truck first did something unethical or improper. Speaking of, I forgot they remade that with Gosling. If watched in the Rifftrax sense, it’s a phenomenal film. Does the remake lean into that, or ultra serious and zen-poignant?
Win! Like COVID checks but better.

Maybe, I dunno, knock it off with subsidies altogether.
lol Good one.
Cut to the bone
Then keep cutting.
He’s gotten dumb since he’s been setting his idiot daughter up to tank his legacy.
Speaking of idiot daughters, what’s the story on Bill Gates’ little girl? Youtube puked up some AI slop about her which I did not click on.
Some financial shenanigans. Fine most likely outcome, but criminal charge a very remote possibility.
Only skimmed.
I believe it was spoofing/editing referral links in purchases to get their cut on sales that weren’t processed through their system.
That’s it!
So, really, blatant fraud.
I read something about that a couple days ago, and there was disbelief due to the amounts stolen being so small. People didn’t understand, seeing she is so rich. I tried to explain that it wasn’t about the money, it was the image of being so smart and able to influence people that she wanted.
My youngest is fond of the word “bruh”. So looking at the top picture, the word that comes to mind is “herm”.
I tell my kids they are appropriating Hawaiian culture when they ‘bruh’ each other and everyone around.
I used to find it annoying, then I encountered some clear cases where it was appropriate, and now I’m a fan.
Agreed..I just tell them that to annoy them
Have them go full chav and start using ‘bruv’.
And look who is appropriating the English.
Chav… What are you going to claim next, to be a Bogun?
(there is a funny Australian-Chinese comedienne, who makes a great joke “I look like a fetish category, but sound like a Bogun!”
It’s chewsday, innit bruv?
Maybe, I dunno, knock it off with subsidies altogether.
Why don’t you spend your own money on it, if it’s such a great idea?
Ahh, see, your misunderstanding is in thinking that the emails are for welcoming the newb. In fact, the purpose of the emails is to be seen by the rest of the management team sucking up to the new boss.
They already hate me because I don’t suck up to the old boss!
Meet the Old Boss, Same as the New Boss.

My other pet email peeve was people would not flag it when they added or dropped someone from an email chain.
You would absolutely love the FAA then! We add and delete people with impunity, forward without informing and ghost all but our best friends.
Particularly for the morons who add an external party to an internal conversation…
After I acknowledge your purchase order or inquiry…no need to reply all and thank me. Since we’re venting. What I hate the most is the fucking retards using AI to reply to people…they are literally training their selves to be dumber. I don’t get it. *hits after work joint
Sounds great! 🙂
I hate the idiots who resend every part of an email chain with a simple reply. Oh, look, here is that exact same picture I have now seen 500 times today, and need to scroll through to find the two word reply I have been waiting on.
This is why new replies go at the top.
And the behavior of keeping the chain is politeness.
Some of us are working on a lit of different tasks and hunting down the details in a multitude of emails just slows things down. so leaving the history in there is helpful.
Im with UnCiv. History matters especially if you are looped in late.
I remember back in the day the cool kids (by which it was strongly implied they meant Linux users) would “properly” quote only a relevant bit of text and reply at the bottom.
This is why some clients (incl. Thunderbird IIRC) allow you to select a bit of text and hit Reply to get that format.
I tried it for a bit and found it clumsy and annoying. Reply at the top is far better. You can take or leave what’s below it and who cares.
rhywun:
That was carried over from the old Usenet days (which brought it over from the BBS days), when speeds were limited to a late max of 56K.
I am so glad I have never worked anywhere where an email was ever sent.
Ole!
The interview on “Jesse Watters Primetime” kicked off with a discussion on immigration and the duties carried out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Watters pressed El-Sayed on calling for ICE to be abolished, but the candidate stressed the Immigration and Naturalization Service’s (INS) handling of federal immigration cases before it was replaced by ICE in 2003.
“We were able to enforce our immigration policies without shooting people in the face and the back of the head,” El-Sayed said.
Watters dismissed this, saying INS “did the same thing as ICE back then” before cross talk erupted, with the host asking how many migrants without legal status were in the U.S.
“I mean, to your point –– Jesse, Jesse, let me just answer the question,” El-Sayed said. “To your point, we had far fewer under INS. … If you want to do that correlation, we have ICE now and we have far, far more undocumented people. So ICE is clearly not working.”
That’s some fancy cape work.
ICE invited all those people over the border just so they could murder them.
Chicken and egg argument will work on his followers.
Holly shit. A real life Post Hoc argument.
Someone club it, and mount it in the museum of natural history!
I don’t think of the two lily white, US citizen retards who got capped by ICE were shot in the face or back of the head, but even if they were, we didn’t need ICE for that back then because we had US Marshals and BATFE to blow the heads off of unarmed women and burn dozens of children alive before bulldozing the evidence.
Gal in the car was face or neck.
I also don’t care.
+1 Lon Horiuchi
I wonder if RC Dean can guess any physical characteristics of the Amazon driver without clicking on the link?
Also, I think “allegedly” could be removed from the headline
https://nypost.com/2026/08/25/us-news/amazon-driver-allegedly-punches-elderly-man-at-elk-grove-arco/
Damn, the perp hit him and knocked him down 3 times
It won’t make any sense, but this will fuel more leftist demands to eliminate gig work in favor of Amazon hires.
Fuck them.
1099 EVERYONE.
Target didn’t learn. Pulling a costume that…is pretty standard cause the leftists complained. Good job you pussies.
For MS. Maybe you reviewed it. Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Milk Stout. 12%. Its…okay. Good one and done beer
I might have done that one. I have to check the archive.
Dolly Parton had a rack worth Firsting on. Highest compliment I can give a female.
I mean..great person, can sing, can dance, can be well…all that Bro cannot.
I’ll never understand people who pretend as if they really know what sort of person some celebrity is. Let alone defend their honor.
It wasn’t a defense against her, but rather an offensive move against you Bro.
You see that’s what’s even funnier because you know even less about me than you do Parton.
I think getting hostile to words on a screen is a far bigger character defect than anything I have going on.
A friend of mine said she was at the FT Campbell PX one time when he was there. He said she was signing guys hats and being pretty cool but he said she was too disturbing in person for him to look at. Along the lines of the old Pamala Anderson joke about her breasts having breasts.
I found SugarFree.
I have concerns.
AI is concerned, we should be too
I’m not concerned. I didn’t even know he was missing.
Best to put him back. He can…turn on people…
Now do Suthen. Did anyone figure out what happened to Suthen?
Don’t call it a come back; I’ve been here for years.
Oooh. Well, now. I have a (virtual) 30-min interview with Cox Automotive for “Document Agent.” Ah-HA! Well. I’ll talk to them, perhaps, about the Title Specialist I also applied for. Hmm. Fairly nice timing. I’ll certainly be doing research and seeing what I can learn or see beforehand. This would (again) be a substantial rung up on my ladder. I’d also have to make some sort of badge to Badass-ify my job title. There’s promise there.
Curious, curious. Again, I’m lucky it’s very close by, should this interview go well. Shall see.
I just cruised their website and I have no idea what services they provide or what product they produce.
Lots of LinkedIn nuspeak.
Outside of KBB which itself is a weird hustle.
They’re in the same space as the company I work for. They basically provided the backend software and services that make dealerships run. X-Time, for instance, is a tool used for scheduling and managing service appointments (we use their API). They have a documents division, which provides standard contracts and forms. Their marketing services include dealership website templates and inventory management. Etc, etc. Tl;dr, modern auto dealerships are mostly third party “business development centers.”
Thanks Pat.
Their website should have been that concise.
“Document Agent.”
Wait until the documents say “Show me the money!”
+1 Treasury department.
Their website is odd. (https://www.coxautoinc.com/) They mostly process car titles for auctions, dealerships and other, fleet-having operations(?).
I’m learnding – “Cox Automotive is the massive parent company behind major car platforms like Autotrader and Kelley Blue Book. Manheim is their wholesale auction division—they run the giant marketplace where car dealerships, rental companies, and lenders buy and sell used vehicle inventory to each other in bulk.”
As for me: “I receive title packets from dealerships and banks, run them through high-speed scanners to link them to the vehicle’s digital file, audit key details like VINs and signatures against a checklist, and store the physical titles in a secure vault.”
$20-$21/hr is my hope. Doesn’t require above HS.
We have a Mannheim locally.
Sounds like a B2B operation. I deal with a ton of that stuff. For example there is an operation that specializes in providing a platform for rental insurance. Landlords go thru them and they feed us the data for underwriting and claims. Specialization FTW.
I’m glad y’all know of this world I’m about to enter. Would love to hear more from Seah, rhy and Pat later on.
That adds more flavor to this delightful opportunity.
STEVE SMITH add flavor!
