You should also try to have some plausible cover for action for when security rousts you.
‘Cache’ is a rank in the media lexicon, right below ‘arsenal’. You know you’ve got something special when they say, “…an arsenal of weapons cached in his home.”
Either way, you know I don’t consider two pistols, one rifle, some ammo, and a set of body armor a cache. That’s barely a stash, more like a minimum loadout for a prepared individual.
I’m not sure what law he actually broke that justified the arrest and searches. Trespassing, maybe? But that doesn’t justify warrants to search his car and home.
That’s actually a good question, and the article is extremely light on details – I noticed that only in the headline did it say anything about the dude being arrested.
That said, openly surveilling a sensitive site is enough for a security or police contact, the cops probably conducted a Terry frisk to see if he had any weapons on him, and the weapons plus the surveillance would have likely been enough for a search warrant on the home, even without an arrest.
The post says he had an outstanding warrant for burglary and the aforementioned rifle is an unregistered SBR. Whoopsie.
