Comer demands release of Ilhan Omar immigration evidence so Congress can weigh expulsion
As if any Team Blue members will vote for expulsion.
Every Republican should be releasing ads contrasting how Dems blather about “affordability” but in reality make everything more expensive.
That’s asking people to put concepts together and is too difficult for the average voter to comprehend. That’s why “Why do you hate the environment?” or “Are you a racist?” works so well on the average democractic voter. Now, go forth and keep your government hands off my social security (see, republican voters have the same problem).
The intellectual median is a couple standard deviations away from the intellect needed to understand nuance. Outliers drive technological development, but the median drives politics. The special few have built a world the vast majority are incapable of understanding, much less governing.
All the voters need to know this election is that data centers are evil and Trump wants you to pay $5 for gas to aid his billionaire friends.
We do indeed stand on the shoulders of giants Jar.
And far too few acknowledge it.
There’s an anti DOCTOR Amy Acton ad that has a woman talking about how she’ll have to cut your pay, cut back on vacation, and raise insurance costs because of Governor Acton’s actions.
Neither the EPA nor the Clean Air Act should exist.
Ask President most popular votes ever how that works.
The post office should go the way of the dinosaur.
Amazon can deliver my junk mail and bank statements.
Let the Kennedy Center die. End government subsidies. Let enlightened donors support it.
Some Republican will float that idea but only after the Dems take complete control.
But then how will we take money from wrongthinkers to pay for what we want?
Thomas’ cremation was first revealed by Rep. Clay Higgins (R-La.), who was infuriated and disturbed that the gunman’s body was turned over to the family less than two weeks after the assassination attempt.
Better treatment than the families of Booth, Surratt, Powell, et al received after Abe Lincoln got his just deserts.
The chairman of the House Oversight Committee is vowing to pursue a contempt vote against financier Leon Black for refusing testimony in the Jeffrey Epstein probe and calling on the Trump administration to release any evidence showing whether Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar broke immigration laws and should be expelled from Congress.
I’d be happier with criminal (or even civil) conviction followed by deportation first, then let Congress make political hay of the matter.
For a guy who was picking the 80 side of a big pile of 80/20 issues last year, he has sure lost his touch.
He wasn’t getting the 80s so maybe he decided to try a 20 …
Heh.
It is the same as downtown!
I suspect that the repeated assasination attempts and far-from-legal court rulings confiscating his wealth have convinced him to play ball.
I really do not have another explanation for his sudden shift to military adventurism.
I also dont have another explanation for his wild forray into obvious graft like meme-coins. And the fact that it is nothing more than a talking point convinces me that the machine has reached an accommodation.
“You stop dismantling the deep state and play ball and we will stop screwing with you and you can get your beak wet”
The fact that someone nearly blew his brains out and there has been no real investigation or even demand for investigation speaks volumes. He got lucky for a minute. I suppose he doesnt want to push it anymore.
There is also that guy who was running the investigation into the many Obama/Biden/3-letter agency crimes committed up to the 2020 coup. He went away and I suspect the investigation has gone *poof* and likely for the same reason.
As predicted – the bureaucrats in black robes successfully deployed the bureaucrats’ favorite weapon – delay.
Unless the machine needs otherwise. Then they can move quickly.
The beaurocrats in black robes need to face a 17th amendment repeal to shock them into doing the right thing.
But we’re going to use this as an excuse to warboner harder because of course we are.
You wouldnt suggest that there might be something happening here *other* than an attack by Russian drones on a NATO member?
Of course not, Russia can’t even beat Ukraine, so of course they are looking to start a war with NATO! Makes perfect sense.
Remember that drone that was “brought down”near an airport recently? That story vanished quick. My bet is that Germany and the EU really want to start a conflict to stay in power and avoid total removal by AFD and other non-commie parties.
Well, I remember when Russia blew up that Russian pipeline to Germany…..
“other non-commie parties”
R.J., folks. A funny, funny man. He’s here all week…
OK, maybe that was a little too strong. Non-Commie-esque? I mean, they are all redistributors of wealth and central planners to some degree.
The AfD is fairly commie economically.
It is so transparently obvious only a Democrat or a New York Post writer would fall for it.
There is a more-or-less pro-business party in Germany but Volks aren’t having that anymore.
AkShuLly Wikipedia says they are “proven far right” and pro Russian.
Good war will distract everyone from how bad their leaders are.
I don’t know, Trump’s crapulence seems to shine through the fog of the Iran war just fine.
I still cannot figure out how the courts found that anyone had standing to sue over the post office rules before the election. Because the court definitely held that if there has been no harm, you have no standing to sue. So when Pennsylvania blatantly violated their own election laws, nobody had standing to sue – specifically because no harm had yet occurred.
This inconsistency leads one to suspect that there are shannanigans afoot in our court system, rather than a dispationate analysis of cases based on the law.
We are being ruled by an oligarchy of judges, usurping both executive and congressional authority. It is long past time for “He’s made his decision, now let him enforce it”.
You can’t sue before the election because it’s too early. You haven’t been harmed yet. You can’t sue after the election because it’s too late. The election is over and we don’t interfere.
“suspect”
Mark Levin got that one right in Men In Black.
He wasent the first nor will he be the last to make that point.
The 17th amendment was the single worst piece of legislation the U.S. has ever adopted.
So, I made the mistake of commenting on the abysmal coaching of our womens FIBA national team. I have 2 daughters who are athletes. Sue me.
At any rate, the algorithm began feeding me comments and videos on the topic. Lots of people agree with me that the coaching left something to be desired, with bad combinations and bad team play with some lineups.
One big complaint was about not letting the younger players get some run. Particularly Caitlin Clark.
All of that is a preface to tell you how pissed off I am at Obama and the DNC machine for their now nearly 2 decade fight to bring back racism.
Along with the legitimate complaints about the coaching, there was a ton of race baiting comments about how “they just dont like Caitlin because she is white” … comments that only exist because they want to race bait.
This did not exist in 2008. At least, not to any significant degree. Not the complaint, and not the reason for the complaint
But 20 years of nonstop pressure to bring back race hatred is finally succeeding in a way that it had not even during the peak of 2020. I finally see white folk openly expressing racist views.
Well done, assholes. 2 decades of organizing, propagandizing, provocations and demonizing have finally done it. Screw you.
I finally see white folk openly expressing racist views.
I don’t know, is that a ‘racist’ view? They don’t like her/want to minimize her because she’s white is not really racist. One is ascribing racist views to someone else/some other group, many of whom are themselves white. But it is not racist; not even ‘race baiting’ whatever that means.
Perhaps your example is just an illustration of the general confrontational state of race relations, not put forward as an actual example of an openly racist view that you’ve seen?
I see the “average IQ” stuff all over the place.
Well yeah, based on the behavior of the league and the black players, “they just don’t like Caitlin because she is white” seems more a statement of observable fact rather than a racist viewpoint. How dare a white girl be better than the rest of them!
Nah, there is a clear difference. There are lots of videos today that I would never have seem even 2 years ago.
Lots of videos of random black folks getting in a fight at a restaurant with “usual suspects” racist commentary over the top. Lots of videos of black guy getting arrested and resisting with racist commentary over the top.
Like any effective subversive campaign, they mix legitimate with illegitimate.
I actually fell for this a couple of months back. Someone posted a video about a scheme in NYC to defraud people of their homes. It was about police colluding with wealthy developers to evict people against court orders. It seemed like a pretty good story, showing real families with real court cases and court ordered stays, with police showing up in force even when presented with court papers staying foreclosure actions.
I shared it…. but I wasnt paying close attention when I watched it. Other things were happening. What I missed was in the middle there were a couple of “the zionists are doing this” things slipped in that twisted the whole tenor of the piece. Now I look like I subscribe to “da jews did it” conspiracy theories.
This stuff is just sliding in everywhere. Back in the 90s every online forum had dedicated racist trolls who would just post racial slurs for the lulz. It was so fringe they got no run at all.
But now? Lots of engagement
It has gotten so embedded that there are people engagement farming the reaction to the reaction to the race-baiting

When you tell people that standards are racist, a sizable percentage will believe them, and decide that since they like standards, they’re racist too. Why think about it any more, it’s easier to hate the Other.
Yeah, they have been working at it so hard for so long. It actually is quite impressive how resilient our society has been in the face of this concerted push.
They went so far as to disavow MLK and say his call to judge people by the content of their character racist. You dont really see his speech much anymore, even during black history month.
It is of no real consequence to GenX
But today’s teens are not steeped in our experience. They are hearing all of this racist trolling and seeing their society treat them in racist ways, and they are susceptible to Nick Fuentes style characters.
Here in Florida we had James Fishback playing that tune in the governors race. Lots of my son’s friends were taken in by his version of the grift.
This DNC/CWPA/DSA strategy of putting racist pressure on a generation and flooding them with social media messaging is a dangerous game.
They think they will be able to divide and conquer and maintain power(DNC) or bring the system down (DSA). But what kind of society will be left?
X would be 100x better if the country of origin was readily identifiable in the post.
I finally see white folk openly expressing racist views.
So, decades of being told they are evil, irredeemable racists merely due to the skin they were born with is finally resulting in a tiny backlash? Who would have ever imagined it?
Came to say the same. Decades of open racism against whites – WTF are people expecting?
In fairness, this is the intended result.
Which is why I am pissed.
I dont want to live in the world they are trying to create.
Charles Manson is getting his way.
University admissions are fundamentally broken.
– Families pay $40,000 a semester for high-schoolers to attend the Mountain School in Vermont and perform daily farmwork and chores.
– Some students and alumni view the program as a way to stand out and boost their chances of admission to top universities.
– The program offers a reprieve from technology by requiring students to surrender their phones and limiting internet access.
https://www.wsj.com/us-news/education/the-school-where-students-do-farmwork-and-choresand-pay-40-000-a-semester-03fae650?st=rKEPBz&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink
I am knee deep in this stuff at the moment. 2020 completely broke admissions.
It was already bad. But it went full insane there for a couple of years.
It is still pretty insane. You have to have “service hours” now. So the public schools here in Florida help you get into college by requiring service hours to graduate.
I kept seeing kids that I know arent all that great going to University of Florida. But they are white and affluent. So how??
Well… turns out they dont go to UF. None of them got in. (Well, almost none) here in Florida you can go to certain junior colleges and transfer to the flagship schools. So you can go to Santa Fe college for your first two years of school, but still participate in all of the UF campus life stuff
Wild.
I dont know why we do it this way, but it lets a whole swath of kids who cant get in the traditional route go to the flagship school and graduate from the flagship school.
I actually like that type of program. My daughter applied to TX A&M and they responded with a similar offer. 1 year at a satellite campus with grades above 3.0 and transfer to main campus year 2. Keeps them focused on school the first year if they want to go to the big show. Of course my daughter decided she was going to do it differently because her dimwitted friend didn’t get the same offer and long story short, she did not graduate from A&M.
Yeah… I am facing similar battles myself.
“It ain’t that deep, dad” is going to be the push that gets me on CNN one of these days.
Community college was part of my 7 year* college experience. I did 1 semester at Iowa State before my scholarship money ran out. I then went to Rochester Community College for an Associate degree, then transferred to Norf Dakoda State to finish my Bachelor’s degree.
*I worked at least 2 (sometimes up to 4) part time jobs to pay for it along the way.
I remember when Sarah Palin made her way through college like that and, instead of this being an example of the high cost of college hurting regular people,it was a reason for the Goodthinkful to sneer at a member of the Icky Class.
Just read that in Texas they changed admissions to automatically accept some top percentage from every HS, instead of top percentage across the state. The goal was obviously to continue racist admission practices that SCOTUS shot down, and it worked.
DrOtto, my daughter did exactly that. Spent a year going to TAMU-Galveston, then off to College Station. Got a degree in EE. Graduated, and went to work with her stepdad remodeling houses. Go figure.
Rhywun – That wasn’t a recent change. The top X percent have had guaranteed admission to the flagship schools (U of Texas, Texas A&M) for quite some time. They have tweaked the percentages from time to time in order to keep numbers manageable for the universities, but the principle has stayed steady for a couple of decades, at least.
It’s not the admission process – it’s living on the campus of the flagship and being part of campus life while going elsewhere for the first couple of years.
PO Nick:
I’d tease you a bit, but I graduated from Memphis State which is a glorified community college. I tell people that I was on the 10 year graduation plan, but finished in 6 because I was smart.
I think there was only one semester where I wasn’t also working. I also dropped out of U of MN (Morris) to join the Marines because I had no idea what I wanted to do and figured I should make money and get some skillz.
My ex-wife went to Morris. I spent more than every other weekend there. Don’s Cafe was always hoppin’ on a Satdee night.
Service hours.
No one I know was forced to do volunteer work in high school but I heard it was a required thing starting in the 2000s. Some of the kids I went to school with talked about doing it to get into college and I mocked them for working for free.
Between being volentold and Sr projects to finish high school and college, those alone should be more than enough to drive parents to home school. If anyone comes after us for not having our kids do volunteer work I’m going to tell that that it’s against our faith in objectivism and to fuck off.
How high are gas prices? This high. Pretty funny in a cruel bitter way.
https://x.com/DJ_Regore/status/2099711762476253202
Well, it made me laugh.
Not sure what’s cruel and bitter about mocking someone who refuses to relinquish power when it’s been clear for several years that their faculties have left the building.
All he needs is an autopen.
I’m the bitter one. The gas prices and the geriatric clowns in government weren’t necessary.
How has this become the default? It isnt like Mitchell, Graham et. al. are alone in this. Pelosi, Schumer, etc…. remember Feinstein? They wheeled her corpse out there for important votes, and she clearly could not comprehend where she was, let alone actually cast her own vote.
I dont know what is wrong with we the people, but we are doing a shit job of overseeing our government.

Don’t forget McCain! Of course he was still able to give a dramatic thumbs down to the repeal of Obamacare. Such a hero!!!
Power. That’s all it is.
Don’t forget McCain’s genius idea of taxing health insurance benefits. Such a pip!
I can’t imagine power being of much value to someone who’s capacity has been reduced to dribbling into a bib.
But it would certainly be of value to the courtiers who keep wheeling them out. The gerontocracy doesn’t usually exist for the benefit of the geriatrics.
At this point, it isn’t power for him but those around him. See Diane Feinstein for example.

Ha! That is hilarious. Wolves and a sheep deciding what’s for lunch and all that.
Let me guess, they want strict regulations on any new/other streaming services and onerous burdens to start up a new one?
Tired of competition? Tired of trying to avoid charges of collusion?
Then you too can form a coalition to “benefit” your intended victims.

“Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson was ridiculed on social media for an embarrassing dance video announcing his reelection bid as crime in the Windy City has spiraled out of control under his watch.
Johnson, 50, showed off his stiff dance moves on a Chicago rooftop while lip-syncing to “Hideaway” by Kiesza — with a group of young people busting a move behind him, including a woman wearing an “I [heart] DEI” T-shirt.”

He looks ridiculous.
I miss the days when professional politicians were either glad-handing assholes who lied to your face or dead-series curmudgeons that insisted on telling you the bad news.
I shudder to think how much worse the next one will be. Is it even possible?
No, because he will win, magically.
Whom does the machine want to win?
Johnson is a product and tool of the Chicago Teacher’s Union – unfortunately, they are the key power players in Chicago at this point.
It’s the same in any large American city – the public sector unions have all the power.
Which GovSec union has more power than the others?
Seems like usually the teachers but in NYC the health care and city worker unions might be even more powerful. They all have the same goal so they probably work together anyway.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Are you saying it is OK for some arab guy like El-Sayed to do a bunch of singing/dancing videos, but not for a black pol? Seems totes racist to me.
I have to question the judgement of any politician who can be talked into making one of these embarrassing videos. I can’t depend on someone who can be so easily talked out of the last shred of their dignity.
“He said the other driver pulled over and the two men began arguing. During the argument, Labarbera allegedly unholstered a pistol — a black Sig Sauer P365X…”
Not just a P365 – A P365X! I love that press. I assume they took it from the police report and inserted it into the article to add “color”.

The one type of gun control I enthusiastically support – gun control applied to government agents.
My buddy has a P365XL, very nice carry pistol. I want one.
So who is lying?
I assume both of them.
Why not both?
“The Emmy Awards are facing woke backlash after actors of color were snubbed in every major acting category at the 78th annual ceremony on Monday in Los Angeles.
The outrage was partially fueled by Variety’s Clayton Davis, who dubbed the night ‘Emmys So White Part 2’ – a callback to a similar controversy in 2021 – as he pointed out that all 12 acting awards were given to white performers.”

Do better if you want to win the prize
I’ve never heard of most of these shows. I’ve never watched any of them – including Colbert.
Colbert winning tells me everything I need to know about that circle jerk.
Just looked at the list and apparently all the shows are on pay streams which means hardly anyone is watching each one but the self-congratulatory wankery must go on.
The Colbert award was pure virtue signaling.
Colbert is still a thing?
Create a quota for awards already.
Same as the Oscars.
Might as well be in your face with the racism.
Yes. I agree. Hollywood is irredeemably racist. We should shut it all down or tax the film companies to pay for minority theater groups.
Dare to dream
“What we’re studying is … what would it take” to temporarily connect riders in Salt Lake City with other cities in the West, Clegg told the Idaho Statesman in an interview. “What’s the feasibility of serving the Salt Lake Olympics?” The two routes under consideration are the Pioneer and the Desert Wind lines, said Clegg, who is also CEO of Valley Regional Transit, the public transportation authority for Ada and Canyon counties. The Pioneer route being studied would stretch from Seattle to Denver, running through Portland, Boise, Pocatello, Salt Lake City and Grand Junction, Colorado. The Desert Wind line would run through Salt Lake City by way of Las Vegas and Denver, bypassing Idaho. Either would need significant additional study — and funding — to come to fruition.
Amtrak’s job is to assess needed infrastructure improvements, costs and potential schedules and ridership for each route under consideration, according to a 2026 U.S. Senate report on the appropriation bill. Ultimately, the quasi-public rail company would make a recommendation on which routes, or segments of the routes, are “most likely … to attract the most riders,” Clegg said. “We know all of them used to provide service, so I think one could conclude that all of them are feasible with the right amount of support,” she said. “But which ones are the best alternatives to pursue in the short term?”
The desperate need for passenger excursion trains in the west cannot be ignored.
all of them are feasible with the right amount of support
Clegg and friends should donate now. I’m sure all the train enthusiasts will chip in.
They have been pushing this crap idea for decades.
No one wants it.
What Idaho needs to do is stop spending 90% of the transportation money in ada and canyon county and spend it improving highway 95 from I84 through Riggans.

That’s probably not even satire.
Poe’s Law.
Wild west medicine
Investors on the libertarian fringe of the biotech industry are making their dream of widespread access to experimental drugs a reality in Montana.
Last year, they helped draft a state law to expand access to drugs that no regulator has deemed safe and effective. Now, Montana is relying on a privately run board to decide which treatments to offer — raising concerns about conflicts of interest and, in an industry rife with unfounded claims, whether patients will get value for their money.
——-
Startup biotech firms told POLITICO they hope Montana will serve as their shortcut around the Food and Drug Administration’s costly and extensive drug development process to the United States’ vast and lucrative drug market. They hope Montana’s new regime represents the beginning of a new “right-to-try” model that prioritizes patient access over paternalistic government oversight, while some patient advocates fear the state has put hucksters in charge of medical decisions.
Those are not the hucksters you’re looking for.
“Joseph and Arlene Kutzko said they have been fighting in court for nearly two years after their minor teen daughter Sophie was taken away from them because they would not recognize the child as a boy.
In December 2024, the Department of Children and Families (DCF) took Sophie away and is now beginning the process of medically transitioning her with testosterone.
The distraught parents alleged that the counselors at Algonquin Regional High School secretly began the process of socially transitioning their daughter without their permission.
A restraining order was lodged against the parents with allegations of abuse.
The DCF put the teen girl in a boys’ dormitory, put her on psychiatric drugs, and gave her birth control.
The couple has not spoken to their daughter Sophie, who is now 17 years old, in nearly two years.”

This will only stop if they pass laws putting these people in prison.
Monstrous evil.
Why the fuck is this still going on? Where are the pitchforks?!
Well, on the one side you have all these leftist organizations (the former gay orgs, teachers unions, medical associations) pushing for it, and the people on the other side aren’t well-informed enough to make good arguments.
The only way this ends is if the entire CPS division ends up taking a dirt nap within a few days.
Looking in my crystal ball, I see a murder trial for a parent who has killed a high school counselor who secretly started transitioning their kid, the doctor who started giving their child drugs and the bureaucrat from child welfare who started proceedings to take their kid away from them.
The trial will end up in a hung jury with 11 jurors voting to acquit and one lone juror holding out for a guilty verdict. After the mistrial the MSM will laud the AWFL who was the lone holdout. She will get to go on media tours where she gets gushing approval. The media will celebrate the fact that a lone juror can make a difference.
Nancy Clancy’s state.
Strip them of senators.
Industry advocates are now lobbying Trump and the FDA to steer clear because Montana’s success hinges on whether the agency takes enforcement actions against companies that participate. Those could include fines or stop work orders. The advocates fear the agency could also blackball companies in the federal drug approval process.
They worked long and hard to capture that regulatory framework.

I can hardly wait! The Minneapolis School District will reveal its new plan tomorrow!!
Those 29K students are only 60% of the student population in 1998. How could anyone support school closures when you’ve only lost 40% of your customers?
The ogre of a superintendent is spouting total nonsense
Of course “underfunding” is to blame. Facts are facts.
Blaming school choice seems a bit risky because it implies that kids are bailing to other districts for some strange reason. Maybe they are all star athletes transferring to ‘all-star teams’ in suburban schools?
Demographic changes just sounds a bit racist.
An interesting point. Way down in the article, we learn a bit more about the concerned parent Amanda Otero:
So the only parent quoted by the journalo is clearly making her money working for NGO’s that are leeching off the school district.
And the taxpayer is paying for it.
Nice racket.
rhywun:
It is only fair for the taxpayers to help her out. The poor lady has to work two NGO jobs to make ends meet!
You know she is working her fingers right down to the bones trying to help out the kids!!!
Waste fraud and abuse
That affected work on the telescope. Propulsion engineers had to run tests on Roman’s fuel using less sensitive gear, two engineers told NPR, because some of their tools — which they say were higher quality and more precise — had been lost in a move months before. NASA asked staff at a radio communication lab to test an antenna for Roman before launch, but they’d lost almost all their equipment.
“We can’t do the work because we don’t have our $6 million antenna chamber anymore,” an engineer said.
NPR spoke with seven current and former NASA scientists and engineers at Goddard who said the moves that have continued over the past 10 months have resulted in the loss of specialized workspaces, employees and expensive machines that were critical to making Roman and other spacecraft. Current employees requested that NPR not use their names because they fear retribution for speaking to the media.
NASA’s management said that moving scientists out of buildings last year was aimed at reducing costs and eliminating “waste and redundancies,” according to internal NASA documents reviewed by NPR. Moving scientists out of more than 80 facilities aligned with a previously published master plan for changes to Goddard’s campus and would allow the center to avoid paying tens of millions of dollars in deferred maintenance, NASA has said.
Elon is sabotaging NASA.
Good luck replacing that equipment. With all the scientists now located in a single congressional district, any earmarks to get new equipment are doomed.
When that shit was spread out over umpty districts, there was no earmark for NASA equipment that wasn’t approved. You fund my radio communication lab and I’ll fund your antenna chamber.
Excellent observation
Their freak out over the 300 items sent to GSA auctions.
Yeah. GSA is like that. They get rid of stuff for Pennie’s in the dollar so they can spend even more next year by claiming they don’t have anything
New and shiny.
See my dumptruck, loader and D5.
One engineer said they had to launch a satellite before it was ready — something they had never done in their more than a decade of working at Goddard. The project, called GRITSS, was launched in July to help other satellites accurately track changes to Earth’s water levels and landmasses from space.
But scientists interviewed by NPR say they don’t know whether the satellite will be able to do that, because they weren’t able to test its ability to radio communications back to Earth before it launched.
Science has no deadlines.
weren’t able to test its ability
bullshit. they choose to launch without testing.
They learned well from the software devs.
Nice to know that NASA has adopted the Agile Methodology.

Factors like the chronic under-funding of public education, increased school choice, and population and demographic changes require us to make structural changes.
Chronic underfunding. That’s it.
“They clearly don’t have a long-term plan,” the engineer said, “which was not really how we feel you should be treating world-class engineering labs.”
You can’t treat science royalty like wage apes.
