Saturday Morning Post-Travel Links

Prime and I had a lovely trip to Cleveland. Other than the game we went there to see. Well, SHE had a fine time at the game. Me… well… Anyway, it had it all, perfect weather, flyovers by a cargo plane (Cleveland doesn’t rate fighter jets), black female singers contorting the national anthem beyond the bounds of good taste and respect, and an abortive drunken fight breaking out in the stands a few rows in front of us. Nephilium egged them on, increasing the enjoyment. “I HEARD HIM CALL YOU A FAGGOT! BE A MAN AND DO SOMETHING!” So her first NFL game was memorable and she’s up for doing it again. So I got that goin’ for me. Which is nice.

Besides travel, there’s birthdays. And today’s include a guy who thought small; a guy who thought blue and blew were the same thing; proof that a straight guy can create a homoerotic icon; an artist whose best work was shut down by the Feds; probably the last NFL player to be named Yelberton; a guy, who despite his name, couldn’t actually play bop; probably the next one to go; a guy whose best acting was the role of Harold Cooper; a piece of shit grifter from my home town; a piece of shit grifter from someplace else; a piece of shit grifter who… well… you know; and somebody who was famous for reasons I can’t quite fathom.

I can barely fathom Links.

We’re fucked. Thanks, Donny.

Nah, we’re fucked either way.

It’s like they’re going out of their way to fuck us.

Can you imagine saving for years for that romantic vacation in France, and then…?

The Religion of Peace®.

The economic ignorance is astounding. And when it’s time for a bail-out, you know who’s on the hook- all the rest of us.

So basically a nutcase and freeloader. Meh, punch him again.

The one here had terrific meals and events. Thank Buddha that this got shut down!

Isn’t it ironic?

He really was the only good thing about Trump II.

This is where I usually fly in and out of. It’s hyper-convenient, fast security theater, and plenty of seats at the gates.

Keith Moon’s drumming was always understated, subtle, and tasteful. Here’s a perfect example.

They do know their voters. And their voters hate The Rich. But at least the SEIU parties down in Sint Maarten are gonna be lit.

    whaddup doh’
    L’chaim!

Much better song off that album than “After the Fire”.

      • Sensei

Oh yeah. Not a fan of that one, but partly because it was so overplayed.

      • Sensei

        Written by Falco.

The flyover was a C130J that we both mistook for an A-10. I felt somewhat vindicated when a quick search said that they were frequently mistaken for each other.

    • Grumbletarian

Huh. I’ve never seen an A-10 with four propeller engines. or any propeller engines for that matter. But I grew up around planes more than most kids.

    • R C Dean

I can’t imagine how you could mistake a cargo plane for an A10, which is technically a fighter. I saw more than my fair share of A10s in Tucson (where they had a wing of them stationed, in case the Mexicans decided an armored thrust toward Phoenix was a good idea, I guess). They are very distinctive in the air and about 1/4 the size of an C130.

No political violence comes fro the left at all, no sirree.

Definitely prefer the smaller airports. I’ll take the airport in Manchester, NH any day over fucking Logan. Austin-Bergstrom is okay, bigger than MHT but not yet godawful.

    • rhywun

I flew a tiny prop-plane into Manchester once. That was… interesting. Could practically look into people’s backyards the whole way.

      • Grumbletarian

Ha! Depending on the runway you used, you would have flown almost over my parents’ house; they live a couple miles south of the airport.

    What readers are saying:
The comments express strong criticism of Elon Musk etc etc

    At WaPo?! No way.

This is where I usually fly in and out of.

Been there a few times, before they renamed it. And yeah, about as pleasant as an airport gets.

“The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are seeing red after the band My Chemical Romance allegedly fooled fans with lookalikes wearing their signature blue-and-white uniforms during a bloody staged shootout at the group’s sold-out Hollywood Bowl concert.

Pro Silver Star Ltd., the owner of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (DCC), filed for a temporary restraining order and temporary injunction against My Chemical Romance (MCR) Friday.”

“Lauren Winans is accused of sexually abusing and sodomizing a victim younger than 12 sometime between Jan. 1, 2022 and Nov. 20, 2022, according to an indictment returned in Nelson County by a grand jury on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old Bardstown woman, “committed the offense of sodomy in the first degree by engaging in deviate sexual intercourse with C.G.W., a person less than twelve years of age,” the indictment alleged….

Winans “committed the offense of incest when she had sexual intercourse or deviate sexual intercourse with a person whom she knew to be an ancestor who was less than twelve years of age.”

    ancestor?

    • rhywun

Being current year, I was expecting a non-woman.

      • R C Dean

How a 31 year old can have an ancestor less than 12 years old is an exercise for the reader, I suppose.

“A man accused of killing a North Carolina college student 14 years ago was convicted Friday of first-degree murder, rape and other charges after prosecutors told jurors that forensic evidence was “screaming his name.”

Faith Hedgepeth was a 19-year-old sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill when she was beaten to death in her off-campus apartment in September 2012.”

Antoine Munfakh, 44, allegedly groped the woman’s breast, strangled her with her own lanyard and forced her to perform oral sex on him inside his car in the SUNY school’s parking lot around 2:48 p.m. on Oct. 15, according to court documents obtained by The Post.”

    STEVE SMITH BUSY UNTIL MIDTERMS

    • R C Dean

I find the whole “family forgives the murderer” thing just bizarre. Its a product of the sort of squishy cafeteria Christianity that sucks the spine out of people. Even for Christians, there should be no forgiveness without repentance, and the scumbags they ostentatiously forgive are never repentant.

  12. R C Dean

The one here had terrific meals and events.

I seriously doubt that’s all it was doing. I have no idea why China should be running a comprehensive program of infiltrating and subverting US institutions (mainly education as far as I can tell), but say “no, those cultural outreach centers will have no involvement in this”.

    • Common Tater

      Also “police stations”.

  13. Grummun

The one here had terrific meals and events. Thank Buddha that this got shut down!

Did the events involve distribution of little red books? If the “Cultural Centers” are sponsored by the Chinese government, they’re a propaganda front, regardless of how good the cooking is.

    • R C Dean

You can drop the “If”. They are absolutely, overtly, ChiCom government ops.
