One of the benefits of being an astrologer rather than a basic-bitch stargazer is that the star charts let you know what’s happening in the daytime sky. And this week, that’s where the goodies are. More specifically a conjunction of Venus and Mercury that least to an alignment by mid-late week. So go out there and have some fun of the kind you’re not supposed to until you’re 18. The conjunction is happening in Aquarius, which has all sorts of implications classically, and to the modern interpretation of “water bearer” not unrelated, though that’s a much more specific kink.
Aquarius: 2 of Cups reversed – Broken promises.
Pisces: 7 of Swords reversed – Good advice, counsel, instruction, slander, babbling. The reason these are listed together is that these will be difficult to tell apart.
Aries: The Hermit – Prudence, circumspection, treason, dissimulation, roguery, corruption.
Taurus: The Fool reversed – Negligence, absence, distribution, carelessness, apathy, nullity, vanity.
Gemini: 4 of Swords – Vigilance, retreat, solitude, hermit’s repose, exile, tomb and coffin.
Cancer: The High Priestess – One of the enduring controversies about this car is the lettering. Does it say “BJ” or does it say “B + J?”
Leo: 4 of Coins – Security, successful defense.
Virgo: 2 of Swords reversed – Imposture, falsehood, duplicity, disloyalty.
Libra: Knight of Swords reversed – Imprudence, incapacity, extravagance.
Scorpio: 3 of Coins reversed – Mediocrity, puerility, pettiness, weakness.
Sagittarius: 3 of Wands – Established strength, enterprise, effort, trade, commerce, discovery.
Capricorn: 8 of Wands – Activity in undertakings, swiftness, great haste, great hope, love.

“Leo: 4 of Coins – Security, successful defense.”
I have security but I don’t know what I’d be defending against. Except maybe slips and falls.
Snowing outside in SE PA. Second snow in a couple days, although the first was little more than a dusting. This one is more substantial, but probably won’t add up to more than a couple of inches.
*racks slide*
What am I defending against? Dunno. What do you got?
Sagittarius: 3 of Wands – Established strength, enterprise, effort, trade, commerce, discovery.
$100 on black.
I am testing my 1RM’s in the gym this week. Here’s to you, Brooksy.
Always bet on black!
Security, successful defense.
Shit
Cancer: The High Priestess – One of the enduring controversies about this car is the lettering. Does it say “BJ” or does it say “B + J?”
Oh, it definitely says BJ.
Blown JDM?
my car says no such thing
What does your car say?
“Imposture, falsehood, duplicity, disloyalty.”
Well, I dont have a project this week. Not worried.
However, we do have the office party……
My older sister had Purple Rain on vinyl. We used to giggle about that song, and of course made sure Mom and Dad were not around to hear it. My older brother had posters of cars and hot women on the back of his door. It was a simpler, naughtier time.
I know that Enigma song, but I never saw the video. Needs more Minotaurs.
Minotaur? While we’re prognosticating, here’s my thought on the midterms:
Repubs hold the Senate, because of the way the seats up for election lay out.
Repubs lose the House, because they have given their base no reason to vote for them. It’s possible this could splash over onto the Senate elections, too.
I’m more interested in the governor race here in Ohio. Vivek against DR. Amy Acton (the face of ‘vidiocy in Ohio).
Wide open contest isn’t it? That’s the reality of who votes.
Really, Acton? The way she bugged out of position so early on, relatively, I figured she was running scared of inevitable blowback. I guess she must see that no one else really got lashed for lockdowns, etc., so it’s safe to stick her head up again. Joke is on her though, because the it’s no longer career poison to conduct studies and write papers on how stupid and destructive the public health response to COVID was, so about the time the election is heating up, there should be lots of material for the R’s to hang around her neck.
Oh, and:
Mediocrity, puerility, pettiness, weakness.
Fuck you too, 3 of Coins.
the face of ‘vidiocy in Ohio
Which won’t matter.
If it mattered, there would have been more electoral rebukes of lockdown governors (*) and Ron DeSantis would be president.
(*) The only one I can think of is PA Gov. Wolf getting slapped in the referendums over the governor’s emergency powers. There were legislative rebukes of lockdown governors but I think the electoral rebukes are a bigger deal.
I mean DeWine won reelection and he was every bit as Covidiot as Acton.
I think that what is missed, here in Glibtopia, is that most ‘Vid actions are still viewed in a positive light by your average voter, and that some things were well intentioned missteps at worst.
ZWAK‘s got it. Our beloved neighbors and fellow citizens would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
At this point I agree with you RC. Trump’s been doing plenty, but it means nothing if Congress doesn’t codify things to make it stick. But “We can’t do nuthin’ because Dems will filibuster.” Like I suggested, break things down into simple bills 80% of the country agrees on (close the border, not voting for illegals, no benefits for illegals, voter ID, etc.) and get the Dems on record opposing what most of the country wants.
I am not too sure about that, RC. Right now, Trump is polling at ~45/53% favorable/unfavorable, generic R’s at 39/53%, and, most importantly, D’s at 33/56%. https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/favorability/rcp_averages And I know the line has D’s +4 in the house post election right now, it has been wrong so many times lately that I wouldn’t bet on it.
In other words, R’s might not be doing enough, but people Hate the Dems so much it might break in their favor.
RNC fundraisers have already conceded loss of House. Goal now is to keep the loss close
Count on the Republicans to give up the ship (without a fight).
I thought the Democrat party was dead? I seem to remember about a year ago hearing that refrain over and over?

No offence, Creech, but your sources have been shit the last few years.
The economic destruction the tariffs were supposed to cause never materialized, we can see ICE out there doing what it was supposed to do, gas is down, he delt with Maduro and didn’t put troops in for a forever war, etc. These are all things that normal, everyday Reps want. And having a bunch of butt hurt lefites out there screaming isn’t going to dent the image they need. The Dems are polling around 10 points worse than them, so outside of normal house churning in the midterms, I am not seeing much that should be freaking out the right at this point.
Is the media still hating on them, sure. But if someone is mistaking that for the situation on the ground, then they need their head examined at this point.
“I am not seeing much that should be freaking out the right at this point”
Nothing alarms the establishment Repubs more than actually holding power. So I am pretty confident they are doing everything they can (get away with) to get out of this uncomfortable situation where there is nothing standing between them and what their constituents want.
Creech, but your sources have been shit the last few years.
One of them was right. I know because I bet on it, and lost.
Rise up
I’ve been thinking of those scenes as I’ve watched ICE thugs patrolling Minneapolis. Watched armed agents pulling people out of cars, using chokeholds, demanding proof of citizenship. Masked agents in unmarked vehicles grabbing neighbors off the streets, using tear gas and pepper spray, shooting innocent people exercising their First Amendment rights to protest.
This time it isn’t Bull Connor and his racist goons. It’s Donald Trump, JD Vance, Kristi Noem, Stephen Miller, and their fascist goons. It’s armed agents of the president of the United States who are bullying and brutalizing people. Committing a cold-blooded murder of a middle-class white woman in broad daylight who tried to get out of their way. Shooting and injuring others.
——-
We will overcome the darkness of Trump’s fascism. We reject the hate, the bigotry, the fear, and the murderous lawlessness of his regime. We dedicate ourselves to causing good trouble — ending this mayhem, and building a new and better America.
Listen to the voice of truth and reason.
“We dedicate ourselves to causing good trouble”
Wave your signs, march around all you want. Just stay out of the street and don’t go, I dunno, attacking people you disagree with (like yesterday with that J6 guy).
Let me guess: self-described benevolent Wiccans.
Scott Adams’ “Two movies on one screen”. In the movie I’m watching, I see crowds of people, many of them violent criminals and who knows what else, just walking over the border unchecked. And finally ICE is tracking them down and deporting them, just like I voted for, despite the obstruction of leftist revolutionaries and their idiot lackeys.
Related.
Thanks Neph. I get the most interesting essays from you guys.
Almost like Solzhenitsyn’s realization about the lie he lived in.
From Neph’s great link: Fantastic John when listing some of those captured during the MN ICE event: “Teng Houa Vang, from Thailand, convicted of assault, arson, and peeing tom.”
Or is that legit? I assume public urination would cover that, but I suppose one could be a peeing peeping tom, true. Dedication to the craft, that.
Third Reich and Roll!
Ugh what a drama queen.
Robert Reich is the Jim Cramer of social policy.
Just so you know, that has been stolen.
Use it with my blessing.
Rise up?
To about 4’ 11”
There is no longer any neutral place to stand. Either you’re standing up for democracy, the rule of law, and social justice, or you’re complicit in the fascist mayhem Trump has unleashed.
All reasonable men agree: you’re either with us or you’re our sworn enemy.
I don’t think they’ll like what my response is.
We can only heal as a nation if you white supremacist mouth breathers concede that we are 100% right about everything.
George W. Bush is that you?!?
He was wrong about everything but that.
/Robert Reich
I loathe these people.
See my comment below. Their bullshit psyop is getting people killed. At best it’s causing division even in families.
Love Madness. Ever notice how Suggs and Tom Wilson (Biff in the Back to the Future series) resemble one another?
Wilson, as all the Tannen’s in all the BTTFs, does a fucking fantastic job. Incredibly underrated performances.
“as all the Tannen’s in all the BTTFs“
I don’t get it. Is this supposed to mean something?
*narrows gaze* Tom Wilson plays Biff Tannen, Griff Tannen, and Buford “Mad Dog” Tannen in the Back to the Future series.
Was gonna ask for a literacy test for the rest, but I think you’ve got that covered. *further narrows gaze, glances at dictionary* If you haven’t seen Back to the Future, (sigh, or BTTF, BttF, etc, uh…) I strongly recommend you get on that. Cuz. Damn. Me thinky pedantic you be. Sad.
*swigs beer* I’ve the seen the first, err, BTTF, more than once. *belches*
Mystery acronyms are Common Tater’s shtick.
Trump’s been doing plenty, but it means nothing if Congress doesn’t codify things to make it stick.
Meanwhile, the media control the narrative.
“It’s not a Presidency, it’s a crime spree!”
Codify things? It needs to rein him in. Start with tariffs.
It can codify things.
Like abolishing the Department of Education along with its programs.
Gotta say, I’m not seeing the economic catastrophe that tariffs were supposed to trigger.
And a lot of the deals he’s cutting are a lot more even-handed than the former regime (you know, US doesn’t tariff anybody, other countries tariff the US at 80%. Opening up export markets is good for the US, after all.
Not just that but all of the predictions of Trump doom.
We still have elections and people are still protesting. The media is still spewing their lies and not in prison. In fact, I am disappointed that he isn’t cracking more heads in Minneapolis and he doesn’t seem to be going after the money.
Amen
Prudence, circumspection, treason, dissimulation, roguery, corruption.
I guess I get some rest on the seventh day.
You’ll need it, after a full week of protesting ICE and opening a daycare center.
“Taurus: The Fool reversed – Negligence, absence, distribution, carelessness, apathy, nullity, vanity.” Damn! Didn’t need that accuracy! Had a lot to think about yesterday and I sunk into a dark, nasty spot, mentally. Got fired on Thurs, then on Fri I re-learned and saw on the MRI that a whole “chunk” of my brain was removed, not just the hematoma ‘scraped off,’ and I have scar tissue on the other side of my brain from the internal bounce.
“But the rest of your brain looks great!” she said a few times, legitimately impressed. That’s some odd shit to stew over. (Hope it’s more processed today. Certainly feel better, so far.)
Important Interview in eight days and with the nearby lead, and likely far better fit, well. The fish has nibbled the bait, but no confirmed bite, but still fluttering ’round. I suppose I’ll see on both counts, soon. I am legitimately feeling positive on the work front. Walmart was gonna end soon anyway, likely next Monday. An unexpected break, possibly a necessary one. *shrug* Onward and upward.
I am always rooting for your Evan. I was in a dark spot last weekend too, but feeling more hopeful this week. If only there were some sort of philosophy or something that a person could use to steady themselves through tough times.
Thank you, fellow Hoosier and recent sufferer of a TBI! Feeling better along with the hope, *I* hope? Regarding a helpful philosophy, I often think religion, an instinctual *part* of being human (as it grows or remains contained, the fuck-uppery is also predictably human), and I’m mostly jealous of the soothing relationship some people get from religion. I was raised Catholic and have never, EVER ‘felt’ Faith. I think most humans ‘need’ such. Hence it’s historical, biological importance and popularity, I sadly suppose.
“Onward. Upward. Always” is my little chant to myself.
@Sean and you: “Their bullshit psyop is getting people killed. At best it’s causing division even in families.”
I am not allowed to speak politics in the family. It brought too much nastiness with my True Blue M&D, bro and SiL. I keep the silence to preserve family integrity. Oh, I listen, but I *rarely* insert an opinion, and when I do, I purposefully am crafty about the topic, my comments and delivery.
Haven’t brought out “How inclusive you are; other than diversity of Thought, that is” barb. That wouldn’t get ugly, but everyone else would IMMEDIATELY know to stop engaging. Only Bad Things lie that way. (Likely correct, sadly.)
It was a bit jarring to see “mild traumatic brain injury” on my paperwork but that’s what it is. Not just a little bump on the noggin. Reading is no longer a big issue, but I am still getting a headache at the end of the day. And I have symptoms (dizziness, queasiness) when I do my PT exercises, which means “not fully healed”. I’m going with my team to a tournament in Ft. Wayne next weekend to coach or be the water boy, whatever they need. It is frustrating to know recovery is months (maybe many months) and not weeks, but getting upset will not change anything. #stoic
I did find out the other driver was NOT insured. So my lawyer is shifting to getting the money from my insurance via the uninsured motorist coverage that I have. That might actually make things move faster. I’ll call tomorrow and find out more.
Woah. Hang in there. Beware of ‘false confidence,’ but keep truckin’ hard.
I never had queasiness or dizziness; I think when that happened I was too far gone for ‘memory.’ I think the #stoic philosophy is likely the best. “This [PT, exercise, thought/brain puzzles exercises] sucks right now, but if I do it properly, recovery will happen quicker and will be more complete.” Patience. Ain’t a childish thing to bitch about.
Even now with my hip replacements, I don’t go when Dad takes the nephews indoor rock climbing. I’ve done it a couple times at the public pool and ya fall in the water, but I don’t want to go to an ‘event’ where I’ll be smartest if I don’t climb and just watch. <– Not healthy for me. I'll be too tempted, and I don't wanna watch other people have fun doing things that *I* wanna do and can't, or really shouldn't. And I'm competitive. Nah.
I’m texting my siblings, and it seems I’m the only one who did not get in a fight with our parents over politics this week. Little sis hung up on mom, older bro dropped of some food and just walked right back out the door. Big sis will call them today. I talked to mom once this week without an issue. I guess they are all worked up about ICE shooting an innocent woman who was just dropping off her kid at school. Unbelievable.
Yeah…dropping of the kid she lost custody of and doesn’t drop off at school. The more outrageous the lie the more it gets repeated. Who is buying that shit outside the completed brainwashed?
Who is floating these MSM outfits that have zero viewers? I haven’t watched them so I don’t know who is buying ads from them. Their ratings are laughably low so I know they aren’t floating themselves and USAID is supposed to be shut down.
I know this…Newmax is shooting up in popularity by simply saying what everyone is thinking I think as a reaction to the poison of the MSM outfits.
Who is buying that shit outside the completed brainwashed?
The only difference with Rev. Jim Jones is scale.
DeWine is a statist POS.
And fuck his c*nt daughter too for running for Green county prosecutor, hoping to follow in daddy’s footsteps.
Their bullshit psyop is getting people killed. At best it’s causing division even in families.
Some daysit seems 80% or more of the people in this country live in some bizarre fantasy nightmare.*closes tab about 5G cell towers reprogramming the nanobots injected as part of the COVID vaccine”
Watchu talkin’ ‘bout?
Not mentioned on the news…aside from the ‘not going after the money’ bit…the MN protesters don’t give a shit about illegals.
It is the same playbook, word for word and letter for letter, that the commie revolutionaries always use. Destroy the system.
But, but, but democratic socialism is completely different. 🙄
Well, they did vote for it
As I said earlier, the Dems were always against illegal immigration because it drives down wages and undermines unions. It also drives up housing prices. All that is still true, but it doesn’t matter because they are only interested in destruction.
Well, they still own union management.
As far as the union members go, that number has been declining (outside the government unions) to near electoral irrelevance. Gonna net more votes from immigrants (legal and otherwise) than corporate-industry union members.
It isn’t even that. The Dems are now the party of the upper middle class, and that most definitely does not include working men.
But in Minnesota, the Democrat party is officially named the “Democrat-Farmer-Labor” party, the DFL.
So people unthinkingly assume that they look after the interests of farmers and labor, and they vote accordingly.
Upper middle class ‘working’ man here.
