1- War is always destructive even when undertaken for noble reasons
2 – Some of AI mindfuck play on the one-armed bandit? I got nothing
3 – Self explanatory. Pirate and squid in couples therapy.
4 – The seemingly-fitter critters died off while the tiny pest survived. Perhaps some kind of social commentary?
5 – “Turn the South African flag into an art deco version of a Picasso”

  2. Aloysious: Evil Dark Lord of Wonderful Smooches

#4 is a modern take on the bust of Nefertiti.

    • Derpetologist

I forget what prompt I wrote, but I think Nefertiti was part of it.

  3. Aloysious: Evil Dark Lord of Wonderful Smooches

#3 is Captain Jack Sparrow in couples therapy. He still is upset that he got swallowed at the end of Pirates of the Caribbean 2.

    • Pat

He still is upset that he got swallowed

Some guys would complain if they were hung with a new rope.

      • Evan from Evansville

As I said before, some of y’all’d complain if you were hung at all.

      • Threedoor

As long as the beasty swallows it’s OK.

  4. Aloysious: Evil Dark Lord of Wonderful Smooches

#3 is a postmodern take on mammalian existentialism.

  5. Aloysious: Evil Dark Lord of Wonderful Smooches

    Mission accomplished indeed.

And if I can’t spray ink, I’m not going!

      • Threedoor

        Ink or black liquor?

I thought I knew you from an XFiles episode

  7. Aloysious: Evil Dark Lord of Wonderful Smooches

#1 is protesting both pacifism and war at the same time.

  8. Evan from Evansville

    1. Dour. Truthful.
    2. Cool lookin’
    3. I like the set up. “So, who met Ishmael first?”
    4. Hmm.
    5. Would ponder discontent with, paint like one of my models.

1: The fall of Western Civilization.

2: The love of money is the root of all evil.

3: Extinct mammals think to themselves “Fucking really?”.

4: Hopelessly doomed to failure. There will be insults. There will be ink.

5: Maynard James Keenan wanks to that pic.

    • Evan from Evansville

@Animals: Teehee! Not just you! “That li’l fuck wins?”

      • Trigger Hippie

I fucked up the order of 3 and 4. Heh. This is good weed.

Good luck with the new job, buddy.

        You too, Derp.

Huh. There’s a new Law & Order in Toronto now. Synopsis: “When an unhoused man is stabbed…”

New ep S02E01 – opening scene is a bunch of vagrants doing bum stuff in a park they have colonized. They’re all so friendly and they care for one another. Neighbor girl finds a used needle. Angry Dad marches over and starts complaining to them. Tapped out during the commercial break but out of morbid curiosity I just tuned back in and lady detective is explaining to dumb male that “unhoused” is the word we use now. Taps out – for good.

I thought the recent American reboot was unwatchable but holy hell.

    • R.J.

I could choose a link at random on TUBI and find you something better

      • rhywun

Watching Trek repeats. Works for me.

Well, I wouldn’t say I *did* anything at work, but it has begun. Training along with Riley, dude younger than me, by a chill lead. Today was just getting our computers set up, laptops we’ll keep in The Vault. *chuckle* This location has ~120 employees and kinda looks like the Evansville Courier’s office plan. Quite big, many cubicles in their little rows, each side of the open area with meeting rooms, break rooms, there are IIRC two Maternity Rooms, and I got lost several times. (Not in the Maternity Room. I likely wouldn’t mind, though.)

Looks like we’re changing scheduling, giving folk the option to keep the hour lunch, or start at 9 and get off at 530, or start at 830 and end at 5, IIRC. There may be a 930-6 option, which I’d accept.

The Vault is pretty big, with walls and aisles of shelves organized like such I haven’t learned yet. Paper files in manila folders! With bar codes. The org system has colored letters and colored numbers, but we didn’t examine anything today. Maybe tomorrow, certainly be the end of the week. They bought us lunch at their cafeteria. (Unrelated.) Chicken tenders and fries, not bad. My salad remains in their fridge for tomorrow. Thursday is pizza day, I hear. They also had soup. (Didn’t check.)

So far, so smooth. I also made $150 today. Huh! That’s rather much, for me. Rather goldilocksy, perhaps, for the work.
*chipper, yet Clarkson-smug face distinctly on*

I have a job interview Wednesday at the big bakery a mile away from my apartment. That’s even closer than my last job and the pay is higher too. It looks like a done deal since they asked me to bring my identity documents. At this point, all I can do is take whatever job I can get and keep until they fire me or I find something better. Hopefully I can keep up with the pace.

In other news, the woman I’ve been texting with for about a month says she’s going to move here to be close to me. She wants kids, so that’s another plus.

The last line of The Count of Monte Cristo says all wisdom can be summarized as: wait and hope.

    • R.J.

      This is all good news!

    • Gender Traitor

…she’s going to move here to be close to me.

Have you ever met this woman in meatspace? 🤨

      • Derpetologist

No, but we’ve exchanged selfies. We met via online dating.

        She likes my jokes.

      • R.J.

In my heart of hearts I do hope it works out.
But if she turns out to be a kidney stealing Nigerian Prince, please write a post about it.

      • Evan from Evansville

What site did you use? I had an interesting, admittedly autistic and Asian artist chat with me. Cute, interesting work, but couldn’t get the talk to escalate to anything past meaningless chit chat. Another gal messaged me but profile admits it’s she’s a he, so I didn’t follow back.

Those are the only two I got on Hinge so far. None on Bumble.

    • Evan from Evansville

*high five* Take it to the hoop! The synchronicity continues! Rather, different rings orbiting in the same gyroscope. Fantastic news, on all fronts, especially if ya Really like the gal.

Saw the swipe at Boomers in the earlier thread. I’m not in that cohort, and recognize they all have commies and libertarians, hard workers and lazy fucks, entitled assholes and folks who know they weren’t born on third base, etc. But one thing you can say about all Boomers: not one of them voted for LBJ.

    • kinnath

not one of them voted for LBJ

      so true

      • Trigger Hippie

…But many of them voted for FDR so fuck them too! And many of their parents voted for Wilson so fuck them too! And their parents voted for…

      • Trigger Hippie

Er many of their parents…FDR…I mentioned up thread that I’m stoned…I’ll fuck off now.

      • kinnath

        Go with the flow man.

      • R.J.

STEVE SMITH SAY RELAX AND STAY A WHILE.

      • rhywun

        There it is.

The first one. ‘This is my pile of skulls, there are many like it but this one is mine.’
