And I can’t even spell Gabriel. I’m blowing off work today to meet up with Prime at our mutual favorite spot. And it’s an odd sort of amusement in a place with a much younger demographic to see the looks we get as the geriatric couple being all super-affectionate. “Ewwwww, that’s gross!” they’ll exclaim charmingly. They only say that because they’re jealous of our well-preserved looks, and we know what they REALLY mean. “Those guys don’t have to worry about contraception or meeting the parents!”
But age comes with the passing of years, and everyone is entitled to birthdays. Those today include the greatest contributor to equality; an artist with a definite kink; a hottie who definitely had an edge to her; one of the greatest animators to walk this earth, and another argument for immigration’s contribution to the greatness of America; one of the last of the Team Red Brahmans; a guy who managed to make Richard Nixon look good; another major contributor to equality among men; and one of my favorite comedians and here’s a clip of why I love the guy.“
I don’t particularly love Links, but here they are anyway.
The OMWC Plan still looks like the best approach. So of course we won’t do that. Stop sticking our dick into hornets’ nests.
And JFC, stay the fuck out of this one, too. The OMWC Plan would work here, too.
About the reporting you’d expect from Nidal Al-Mughrabi.
Can you spell “impeachment?” I knew you could.
You mean the stupid shit he says is stupid? Where’s my fainting couch?
Retardation runs in that family.
I’m not a huge fan of the Velvet Underground, but this video struck me as the visual inspiration for a key element of one of my favorite movies, No Country For Old Men.

Was she a hottie?
Judging from her photos, quite cute.
*squints, shrugs, closes tab*
“About the reporting you’d expect from Nidal Al-Mughrabi.”
Better than being named Anus Ashtray.
“Nearly all of Gaza’s 2 million people now live on a tiny strip of land along the coast, mainly in makeshift tents or damaged buildings, under Hamas control.”
At least they identified the problem.
Gaza is all a tiny strip on the coast under Hamas control. so it’s not nearly all, it’s all and always will be all.
muh proportionality!
Hamas still exists, dude. Which means the job isn’t done.
Hard to believe that anyone still takes the “Gaza health officials” the least bit seriously.
Not just here and there but the entire MSM takes it seriously. Makes you wonder.
Awful people making up bullshit charges to ruin the lives of other awful people, while ignoring the actual crimes of yet more awful people. The whole Tate extradition kind of symbolizes the state of the world.
I’m wondering how it is that the Tate bros are so much more heinous than the many grooming gangs.
1.) They’re famous, and B.) they have many wrong creepy opinions.
III.) They’re white.
Are the charges bullshit?
The last set were, and this set seem to have popped into existence after they were acquitted on the last set.
Rape I could believe (given some actual evidence, of course.)
Running a sex trafficking ring, no. Neither one of them has enough of a brain. That said, ‘sex trafficking’ these enlightened days covers a huge amount of territory…
A pimp’s intelligence is different than that of a square.
That is one saga I cannot summon the least shred of interest in.

Good morning! Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. I’m laid up with some sinus/respiratory thing that started Thursday when the some was at its worst.

Hope you feel better soon!
“along with a ban on licensing tattoo shops within 1,000 feet of a school, church or playground”
That’s just straight up retarded.
They should ban pinball and restrict billiards while they are at it!
“We’ve got trouble, right here in River City…”
Easy there Jar
If it stops just one child from turning into a tatted-up douchebag, it will have been worth it.
+1 David Bromstad
I actually like David Bromstad. He’s seems nice no matter how much you have to spend on your lottery dream home.
“The scanners also work in conjunction with “sophisticated algorithms” that can automatically flag suspicious items, such as explosives or “other threat items,” according to the TSA.”
Have they ever caught any explosives?
They cut my lock off of a duffle bag and tore it apart that I had a tin of boot polish in in 2005
Excellent music choice this morning!
I’m guessing it was “The Gift”.
What’s the most you ever lost on a coin toss?
I’ve only bet boxing, cock fights, and football.
STEVE SMITH BET ON COCK. IT A SURE THING. IT NEVER LOSE.
I see NPR remains upside-down land. You have to negate every thought to arrive at something close to truth.
Pffft, modern American warfare is about making money and sowing chaos. Stupid NPR…
“Can you spell “impeachment?” I knew you could.”
He can’t spell “Hawaii”
You mean Hawaiʻi.
Aloha MFer?
Why can’t we won wars?
I’m biased since I was in the last war that was a win 35 years ago – and I’m a project manager.
Desert Storm was the last time we defined achievable victory conditions and resisted all temptations to expand the scope (didn’t conquer Iraq or take out Saddam).
Does anyone even know what we’re trying to achieve with Iran right now? Or during the 20 years we wasted in Afghanistan? We have a sorta ally in Israel who has completely different objectives and doesn’t care even a little about our concerns.
What a stupid hornets’ Trump keeps shoving his neo-con dick into.
We’re still in Korea 70 years after the fact.
60 KIA in Viet Nam (not to mention the civilian population death and destruction)before we learned how not to do something stupid.
Or maybe we didn’t learn, do the same thing over and over…
Iran isn’t about territory — it’s about global hegemony. I think the goal is to weaken China’s influence. It’s worked to some degree.
He fell victim to Easy Victory in Venezuela Syndrome and listened to the platitudes and straight up lies from the war monger advisors close to him and here we are. Trump’s just not very smart.
As JI pointed out a few weeks ago…most likely CIA/State Dept slugs chirpping in his ear and rather than listen to his VP, decided “what’s another round of sticking it in crazy gonna do?”
“Does anyone even know what we’re trying to achieve with Iran right now?”
It seems quite clear to me, and the administration has been clear on its goals since Day One.
Can we achieve them? If so how, and at what cost? Those are the only interesting questions.
In spite of everything I tried my kids still walked in their own shoes.
Shut up! He is stunning and brave! The people demand unlimited abortions and an end to white supremacy!
Speaking of neo-con stupidity… Trump endorses Graham’s sister to run for a full term this Fall. What a joke.
Just wants somebody who will do what she’s told?
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jul/17/lindsey-darline-graham-senate-trump
So many times he would be better off with his mouth shut.
Does anyone, anywhere, want something else?
Trump in his book and first term used to seek other opinions. He would let lively debates go on between advisors and Cabinet members before making decisions.
Now, all that is shut down.
Senator Lindsey but With Tits Graham along with a political need to show she can be as warmongerish and “tough” as her brother. Is SC stupid enough to fall for it? The answer is yes.
Her nickname henceforth is Tits Graham. So let it be written, so let it be done.
Titsy Graham. ‘Tits’ only works as a last name.
Well, someone has to swing that way.
Then why does Tits McGhee work?
Trump’s first term ended with COVID lockdowns. Maybe for round 2 he decided that the team of rivals bs wouldn’t work.
ES:
Tits McGee would beg to differ.
She’s a cipher. Odds are she turns into another backstabbing RINO.
The next Liz Cheney.
Oh, shit. If the only alternative to him inciting antisemitism is spraying tax dollars at those layabouts, I think I might have to side with the Jew hatred.
Do that and you’ll get both anyway.
“Batarti Gabbard, the 55-year-old sibling of the former national intelligence director, was charged in connection to a “stranger danger incident,” at a hotel pool area in the resort-packed Waikīkī neighborhood on July 12, the Honolulu Police Department said.
The elder Gabbard allegedly approached the minors, including a 9-year-old boy, offering them gum and money if they followed him to a room at around 2 p.m., officials said.
Batarti Gabbard, 55, was charged with second-degree custodial interference after the July 12 “stranger danger” incident at a Waikīkī hotel pool….
Gabbard, who suffered from mental health issues in the past, began spiraling in recent days after smoking pot, his father, state Sen. Mike Gabbard, said, according to KITV.”

So Muhammad was a pot head?
OM, I almost didn’t recognize you from the pictures.
“Lookin’ good!”
AI is a marvelous thing. It only took two go-rounds with Grok to get it right.
Where’s that left hand, mister?!
““My hope is that we can get to a point where measures like this aren’t necessary anymore—where people don’t have to steal just to eat, stores don’t have to lock up food, and everyone has reliable access to the necessities they need.””
https://nypost.com/2026/07/18/us-news/california-walmart-locks-up-pricey-meat-to-fight-shoplifting/
They aren’t stealing just to eat.
Right. Stealing a breadroll or some chips, maybe I would buy into they are stealing to eat. Stealing meats, especially more expensive cuts, is to resell on blackmarket of SNAP
The mind reels at the stupidity progs carry around in their head with such certainty.
If you really believe people have to steal just to eat, then it seems that stores shouldn’t be allowed to lock up food, no?
I’m still trying to figure out why they lock up the antiperspirant at my local drug store. You’d think we’d want to encourage everyone to use it. 🤔
One criminologist created an apt acronym, CRAVED, to predict the stuff at highest risk: “concealable, removable, available, valuable, enjoyable, and disposable.”
In other words, shoplifters are very often violent criminals who should be locked up.
The problem isn’t going away because local politicians aren’t taking it seriously.
Antiperspirant isn’t even expensive.
See the “CRAVED” link – anti-perspirant is all of that.
Probably makes a big profit in the black market.
GT- our Kroger on Siebenthaler has “high loss items” in a sectioned off area of the store. Its all glass panels.
I call it the Ghetto Fishbowl.
Yep. Most of the shoplifters stealing deodorant, toothpaste, diapers, laundry detergent, etc., are reselling it.
You won’t make great money doing this, but it’s easy and it’ll keep you high.
We need to go back to armed security guards, who aren’t in turn criminalized when they shoot a shoplifter/bank robber/whatever.
So the South America model, then?
Tinactain too.
Only place I’ve found it available in years has been Amazon. Likely on Amazon after it was stolen out of some retail shop.
That was the US until about 1975, also. And what has fallen since then?
I absolutely agree that shoplifters should be shot. If it is “too dangerous” to stop them, what other option is there?

STIJLTH
She’s unrecognizable without makeup.
“Why is the U.S. finding it so hard to win wars?”
Because the populace and the leadership don’t have the stomach to do what’s necessary to do so. To win a war, you have to destroy an enemy’s will or ability to fight. This often requires overwhelming force with massive “collateral damage” that modern Westerners recoil at. We had to drop two nukes on Japan and firebomb Germany into oblivion to end WWII. Unless and until someone’s willing to do that in these other shitholes, nothing will change.
For me, that’s an argument for not getting into a conflict in the first place unless the stakes are so high that waging total war is absolutely the only option. Instead we do these stupid half measures and “police actions” to just pad Lockheed Martin’s bottom line.
The brass and pretty much everyone e7 and up don’t want the war to end. They want another promotion and a meritorious bronze star.
A lot of rank and file guys know what it takes to win a war agains a Muslim nation and are completely willing to eliminate every male in those countries and convert the women. The leadership has no balls and is convinced that wars can be won by reading books like Three Cups of Tea.
Peterhouse has gone coxless.
An American Woman Shook Up One of the Oldest of England’s Old Boys Sports
The idea of a Powerpoint in church is completely foreign to me. It would be the last place I’d want to see one.
I know the RCC and other denominations have come down on AI generated sermons.
Pastors Using AI to Help Write Sermons Grapple With Where to Draw the Line
Maybe they should do their job?
Couple of times I’ve spoken at our church I’ve used power point – but only to put up a map or maybe some historical context. I’ve not used it to bullet-point the sermon.
“So we’re going to circle back to the question of evil after we distribute these action items and prayer points to all of you.”
We need to bubble this up to the Big Guy, and see what trickles down after that!
Nice business you’ve got there. Shame if anything were to happen to it.
Stagnant Germany Considers the Unthinkable: Sunday Shopping
This is really will be unthinkable if it actually happens.
Let’s not discuss the self-imposed “green” hysteria.
A green paradise using cheap Russian natural gas and defended by the USA.
What could put a wrench in that?
I guess I missed that when I was on vacation there.
That’s like the blue laws in the South on steroids.
Weird as heck.
blue laws
Moved to Baton Rouge in ’95, unpacked on a Sunday, but no TV at the apartment so went to the local bar (Chimes) to watch some games (back when I would still go out of my way to catch the NFL). Sat down at the bar with a good view of big – for the time – TV and ordered a beer.
“Sorry, sir, I can’t serve you”
‘Que?’
“It’s Sunday, you can only drink if you are eating.”
(thinks about eating for 3-4 hours…. nope.)
‘So if I order a side of fries, I can have a beer?’
“Yes”
‘And as long as I have food, I can keep ordering beers?’
“Yes”
So a plate of soggy, cold fries sat in front of me for 3 hours so I could have a couple of beers and watch the game.
Then the rule that you couldn’t sell booze within X feet of a church at any time. So my go-to grocery store was next to a church. If you wanted to buy alcohol, you bought your groceries, went outside and walked down to the far end of the store, furthest from the church, and went in a separate entrance to buy your alcohol.
Kentucky still has “dry counties” with absolutely no alcohol sales.
Doing a lot of work in that state taught me to bring my own just in case.
“There are 83 counties in the United States where the sale of alcohol is completely prohibited.”

Yes and instills such shitty and terrible habits for food.
The 70s/80s Betty Crocker cookbook aint looking so bad anymore.
Worst is using your dishwasher as I have seen people do on the interwebs
I learned to use an iron skillet. Or the oven if Im making a lot.
Oven-baked is my preference. This morning I might try the air fryer as we had to shut off the gas on Friday for reasons.
If you want half-done soggy bacon, sure.
We clearly wern’t hard enough on the hipsters in the 2000’s…
I’ll promise some of the packaging flavor transferred over to that as well. That’s just retarded and keeping with today’s link theme. Good job.
I hate the south.
Is there an official glibertarian definition of the south?
Five Glibs will have at least six different opinions, but here’s the non-Glib-specific traditional definition, at least for the eastern U.S. as it existed mid-19th century.
Anything below the Mason-Dixon?
We should start a dental practice.
I use the metric of where sweet tee is served when you order iced tea.
That’s appalling.
Sheet pan in the oven is my preferred method if I’m making a lot (as a bonus, bacon fat is easy to reclaim through this method), skillet on the stovetop for a couple of pieces.
And everything south of Columbus is Kentucky.
Harsh, but fair.
This, and for any size even just me. So much better results than in a pan.
The bonus for frying bacon in a cast iron pan is that it does an excellent job of seasoning the pan.
“Amid a summer of dangerous heat, drought and floods, a majority of Americans are connecting increasingly severe weather to the climate crisis, new polling shows, despite efforts by Donald Trump to dismiss global heating as a “con job” and a “hoax”.
It’s a sign that attempts to suppress polarize climate concerns may not be seeing full success, said Grace Adcox, senior climate strategist at Data for Progress.”

““White men get to fail,” said Amanda Litman, co-founder of Run for Something, which recruits young, progressive candidates to run for office. “Women do not get to make mistakes. People of color do not get to make mistakes.”
Litman said the argument was not that serious allegations should be treated differently because of a candidate’s identity, but that Platner had been granted an unusual degree of latitude to recover from earlier controversies that a female candidate or a candidate of color would probably not have been afforded.”

Platner was a cheap knockoff of Meet John Doe, dredged up by whiz kid political consultants. They got their money’s worth.
Weather is not climate.
Somebody told me that.
Weather is climate if it can be made to fit the narrative.
Weather is not climate if it cannot be made to fit the narrative.
The goal of the narrative is to further the revolution and the remaking of man and society, control and power. Don’t expect logic. Don’t expect consistency. Don’t expect rationality. Expect whatever it takes to further the goal.

Stopped at the pub for a brew and the golf is on. Why do people watch this?
I don’t
I do. Because winning or losing depends on what you do and not on a teammate dropping a pass or striking out on a ball in the dirt.
They are hoping to see someone get hit by the ball?
They enjoy watching the grass grow?
Do nothing Congress
“It’s a great American pastime to hate Congress,” said Carl Hulse, chief Washington correspondent for The New York Times. “But I do think there’s a lot of frustration with Congress.”
Hulse has covered Capitol Hill since the Reagan administration. Asked if he sees a broken institution today, he replied, “Oh yes, totally. I unfortunately have said to people, ‘I’ve spent my career covering the decline of Congress.’ And yeah, they need to get it together. But there’s just very, very little cooperation between the parties, and you can’t make things happen that way.
“I do think a lot of them want to do the right thing, and they just can’t quite get themselves there to do it,” he added.
They can’t even get it together to impeach Mad King Donald. What makes you think they’re going to pass socialized medicine or a punitive tax on wealth?
How come “compromise” never includes privatizing social security just a little bit or reducing the dept. of education by just a third? Compromise is always expected to be in the direction of more government.

Gonna make a quick trip to Kroger to get my 350 calorie breakfast shakes, but then, off to my old Walmart! Yes, I can get the things I want for the workweek, and a decent chance of seeing Lawn & Garden Leonard, with a highly outside shot Cutie Crush still works there, but really?
A lovely chance for a 50min (total) drive (vaguely) out of Carmel, an enjoyable getaway drive through the country for my brain to both unwind and unravel my tremendously positive inaugural week at the title service. And then? Back in plenty of time for the 2:20 Cubs game, a nice throwback to my days working 5-2pm there.
Such a strangely positive weekend for me, my first proper one, w no work nor work-search, in quite a long time. Gonna think of how to use these weekends to my advantage. NSFW submission is in, so that’s accomplished. Enjoy before the grind begins anew!
Delusions of grandeur
Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., took a swipe at Rep. Haley Stevens, D-Mich., on Saturday, saying Michigan’s Democratic Senate primary isn’t about her, but about whether the “billionaire class” can stop progressive candidate Abdul El-Sayed.
Sanders — joined by progressive Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., at the Detroit Opera House rally — delivered the remarks to voters alongside El-Sayed, who is set to face Stevens in Michigan’s Aug. 4 primary.
“In all due respect to Haley Stevens, everybody knows that this is not an election between her and Abdul,” Sanders said. “This is an election between Abdul and the billionaire class. That is what this election is about.”
This is a struggle between good and evil for the very survival of humanity.
Or maybe it’s just a junior high popularity contest between retarded children.
Certainly there are no billionaires supporting “democratic socialists”. How gauche would that be.
