“Betrayed,” Donald said darkly. “Everyone is against me. The n-n-nerve of these people.”

“You offered them paradise and they spat in your face,” the hat said.

“He’s stuttering,” the hair said, worry in his voice. “He stammers but never really stutters.”

“He’s fine except the knife in his back,” the hat said.

“They all betrayed me,” Donald fumed.

“First the libertarians, fucking Massie,” the hat said. “And Justin Amash, that fuck.”

“Yes, all nine libertarians in the country really tipped the midterms,” the hair drolled.

“And after I gave them the beautiful war against Iran,” Donald said. He turned in his chair and looked out the window in The Oval Office, wavy from layers of bulletproof materials.

“And then young White men,” the hat said. “Voting for Democrats aren’t going to get you a few crumbs of pussy, ya broccolihead dumbfucks.”

“And have you seen Democratic women?” the hair asked. “Is even a crumb worth it?”

“Yeah, that crumb is probably all covered in cat hair and smells like miconazole,” the hat said. Donald chuckled.

“They all have big tits now,” Donald said, “much bigger than in my day.”

“Father!” Barron called from the hallway. “We have been betrayed!”

“Yes, my Son,” Donald said and held out his arms, gathering the giant boy in for a hug.

“I will destroy them, Father, for what they have done to you. I will destroy them.”

“WOO!” the hat cried.

“Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves,” the hair said, “I saw that in a fortune cookie.”

“I want you to destroy them, my Son,” I shall make you a weapon.”

“One that runs on poontang and blood,” the hat added.

“Is this a dagger which I see before me, the handle toward my hand?” Barron asked. “Come, let me clutch thee.”

“What?” Donald the hat asked at the same time.

“It’s from a play, Father.”

“Play?” the hat asked.

“MacBeth, you ignorant boob” the hair said.

“I don’t know what sort of nonsense that school is teaching you, but I don’t like it,” Donald said.

“It’s Shakespeare, Father.”

“Well, I’ve never met him and I already don’t like him,” Donald said.

“Well, I’ve never met him and I already don’t like him,” Donald said.

    A sound policy.

Wishful thinking but it may (or not) get the voter few crumbs

    Thanks, SF

Pretty sure if I had, I would have avoided at least one political debate before bedtime.

I guess the race traitor won in Florida.

So at least Florida Man has that going for him.

    • Urthona

Florida being ok for republicans is exclusively due to them having a very effective governor in DeSantis for awhile.

      • The Artist Formerly Known as Lackadaisical

Next election here will be a bloodbath because Byron Donalds is a total loser, criminal hack… so I have that to look forward to for the next 4 years, and then the resulting Democrat-led government will be fun… blegh.

    • ron73440

Steve Harvey was going on and on about the elections and warning his people to stay aware because the racists are laying low right now, but they are making plans and they will be back.

He also mentioned many historic firsts for blacks, but Florida was never mentioned.

I miss the days when I thought Harvey was just a banal comedian.

my friend in dutchland is all dommer about the US elections. You damn people are depressing Europeans.

    • Raven Nation

This makes no sense. I’ve been reliably informed that all Europeans hate Trump and all Republicans.

    Back on course

Stocks ripped higher on Wednesday as a decisive victory by Democrats in the U.S. midterm elections — and President Donald Trump’s acceptance of the results — removed political uncertainty risk hanging over Wall Street.

Democrats won majorities in both the House of Representatives and Senate, and scored victories in key gubernatorial races like Texas. The Democrats will now be a check on the policies of Trump, who’s enacted business-friendly tax cuts, while also pursuing tariffs and a war in Iran that’s boosted inflation.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average traded 1,514 points, or 2.9%, higher. The 30-stock index moved back above 53,000 for the first time since Sept. 8. The S&P 500 gained 1.7%, while the Nasdaq Composite jumped 1.9%.

    Gridlock wins again.

    • rhywun

All tax cuts are consumer friendly you rtards

      • UnCivilServant

Not if they cut the taxes only of employees of certain government agencies and activist NGOs.

      • Bobarian LMD

It’s not like Congress passed any significant legislation in the last two years. More of the same.

      • Drake

        2 more years of gridlock!

    • Threedoor

I should have sold oil stocks Friday. I’m taking a pounding.

      • Ted S.

My money is in index funds, not sector funds or individual companies.

      • Bobarian LMD

Probably a good day to buy oil stocks. Not like the election is going to have any real long term impact on oil.

    • Urthona

I am a little bit curious to see what my state of Texas does now with a Democrat governor. We haven’t haven’t had one since I was a kid, with Ann Richards.

She didn’t last too long. I expect this one won’t either.

      • UnCivilServant

They mistake this for a full progressive lurch among the electorate and make unpopular laws.

      • R.J.

Dolph Briscoe was over the state when I graduated high school. He was in for a long time. The spell of continuous democrat governors was broken after him by Bill Clements. Prior to that Texas did not have a seriously diversified economy and just relied on oil revenue. It was pretty bleak back then.

    • Threedoor

      For now.
A lot of races have really tightened up.

All those economic immigrants from the west side claim to be conservative and shocking, many of them vote just like they did when they lived in Seattle.

We’ll get a third house seat in 2030 and it will go to a radical Boise nut.

    • Urthona

Not a huge Vance fan, but he’s basically right.

Also, he doesn’t single out tariffs but it was the #2 issue named by defecting voters and was basically all implemented by Trump unilaterally.

To do that, thought, he would really have to throw his boss under the bus.

      • juris imprudent

Vance has a political future to consider – he’ll throw Trump under the bus, even before he needs to. Not a damn thing Trump can do about it.

      • PieInTheSky

i am pretty sure Vance supports tariffs

      • trshmnstr

Tariffs only ever made sense as a replacement for instead of an addition to other taxes.

According to the folks I know who are in the know, the original plan was for the midterm to be a referendum on repealing the income tax. Obviously, you can’t do that when Congress can’t even pass 80/20 bills and forever war is back on the table.

It was an ambitious and unlikely plan in the first place, but it really blew up when Trump started chasing squirrels.

      • Urthona

Yeah I mean if Vance supports tariffs well that sucks. He’s not gonna be the next president. If you look at polling, people weren’t originally sure of then but pretty much hate them now.

      • PieInTheSky

Vance is not I would think one you would want president, but then again who is.

      • UnCivilServant

Trashy, if that were the plan, it really should have been made public, unless the idea was just dropped.

      • juris imprudent

        but then again who is

Massie was my write-in last time. I’d love for him to be in the position to “release the Epstein files” and it to be a nothing-burger.

      • PieInTheSky

I would say the odds were flat 0 of any income tax repeal or that tariffs would generate that kind of income.

      • Gustave Lytton

A squiggle on the tariffs is not just the tax itself but getting rid of de minimis and making all packages go through formal import. Wish list item of the panopticon state. Fuck your grandma’s homemade cookies from the old country. Fuck your $55 taxes and fees on a $40 otaku item.

Responding to Juris in the dead thread.

The Des Moines register is saying the Dems flipping 11 seats in the house dropping the Reps from 66-33 majority to 55-44 majority. Also the Dems flipped 2 senate seats but lost one. Leaving the Reps with a very large majority in the senate.

The house, senate, and sec of state are still firmly in Rep hands. I am somewhat more relaxed now that last night.

  13. rhywun

  14. Grumbletarian

I see Vermont elected Republican governor. I’m curious as to how Republican he might be.

    Conan redux?

  16. The Late P Brooks

Vance is not I would think one you would want president, but then again who is.

He seems to be a highly skilled flip-flopper bend with the prevailing wind kind of a guy. Willing and able to jump in front of any convenient parade. He’s perfect.

  17. The Artist Formerly Known as Lackadaisical

From Trshmnstr in the last thread: “The folks younger than me are especially unhappy and are willing to try anything to get somebody’s attention so that someday they might be able to own a house.”

This is very palpable among the young.

I’m guessing the Dems will be on the other side of that firing squad in 4 years time.
